I'm from Latvia and in my humble opinion, my mum makes the best borscht. It was still very interesting to see the recipe you used because it shows so clearly how borscht is so different in every household. For example, if the cabbage is very fresh in season, my mum adds it last and turns off the heat. If it is not in season then cabbage is added towards the end and boiled about 5 minutes or until it is tender (depends on the size how it is cut). I have never seen her cook cabbage with potatoes - it looks so bizarre to me :D I love the addition of garlic in the end! We usually add chopped garlic right in the soup before you serve or the tougher people bite the garlic cloves when eating soup :D Glad you enjoyed!

Never had tiramisu prior to going vegan (September 2016), but, should make this for when I see my partner next year (long distance) as they’ve been eating more plant based options! 🎉

Cashew cream would work well! Usually for cashew milk I do 1 Cup soaked raw cashews to 1 Cup water (sometimes more water helps thin it out if it’s still too thick) and it’s fairly easy to make, or, oat cream. Which would just be oats and water as well. I wish you luck and a happy 2025 ahead!

By far my favorite dessert! Do you recommend any aquafaba? Canned or do you cook your own chickpeas? I don’t often use chickpeas so I’ve been thinking of trying that powdered but it’s a little too pricey

Hey Sarah ❤ I've never used aquafaba and I wonder if you can use any canned chickpeas or have to get one with just water and salt (which is hard to come by for me) and was also wondering if you can freeze the homemade ladyfingers?
