I always enjoy watching how others manage their daily eating. Since I’m retired, I think it’s so easy for me, yet it does take planning. You have mentioned in the past being a planner...I think that’s a valuable super power to have in order to do well post WLS. I’m fascinated by your employer’s morale boosting Thursday. Food! I assume it’s free? 😘

Kinda look at them on my desk with the goal of having them all taken before lunch. And my new addiction is iced coffee. NOM! Congratulations! I read many comments (not all) but my curiosity about one aspect of your ordeal I did not see addressed. May I ask about excess skin as you rapidly lose weight? Is the outlook for the tremendous amount of weight you lost that your skin will (mostly) recede to a level proportionate to your reclaimed figure? OR do you think surgery will be necessary to remove excess skin at some point in time? My apologies if this has already been addressed and I missed it.
@FoodieTurnedSleevie7 жыл бұрын
John Doe Thanks for reaching out. I think excess skin really varies from person to person, and always seems to be worst in whatever area you lose most weight in. Of course for people who lose more weight, I think it's worse than for people who don't lose as much. For me, I carried most of my weight in my arms and my belly so now, my belly skin is a little loose but not too bad. My arms are pretty saggy, but I'm not sure if/when I'll have surgery to remove it. Some people say drinking lots of water and exercising helps the skin's elasticity but I think that's just a theory.

Thank you for posting this, I know this is old, but I've been scared as hell I won't be able to eat much at all, and while your portions are obviously smaller than normal I'm just glad I can have a relatively normal eating diet with VSG 😊
@FoodieTurnedSleevie3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. It's a blessing and a curse because a few years out (I'm now almost 5 years out) you definitely can eat as much as a "normal" person so you definitely have to be mindful to eat properly for the rest of your life. The benefits of the sleeve give you a good head start but you have to keep doing the work after that.
@brandon177603 жыл бұрын
@@FoodieTurnedSleevie you can eat pasta now? Or is that still rather hard?
@FoodieTurnedSleevie3 жыл бұрын
@@brandon17760 I definitely could but it has basically no nutritional value so I choose not to 😕

im seriously considering having the sleeve surgery. I have one reservation that is holding me back. I work in the heat all summer and I love to work out and work up a good sweat. my concern is regarding hydration. do or have you ever had a problem dealing with hydration? any feedback you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
@FoodieTurnedSleevie7 жыл бұрын
Early on, it's hard to drink much all at once. You have to take small sips, but if you stay consistent, you can get enough fluids in. Surprisingly, post surgery, I sweat a lot a lot less than I used to, so that might help also.
@osu_ndn7 жыл бұрын
Sounds good - thank you for the feedback. Also, I love your posts to KZbin - the are very informative and very real (if that makes any sense). Looking forward to more videos. Again, thank you.

When did you start feeling “normal” again and by that I mean you ate without feeling uncomfortable, and when you wanted to every once in a while you could have a cheat meal?
@FoodieTurnedSleevie4 жыл бұрын
Hm. That's a tough question. To this day, if I eat too much, I feel uncomfortable, but I think that's true of people who haven't had surgery, too.

Love this video! You have so many great options for lunch at your cafeteria! I noticed that you were using a straw when you were having your iced coffee. When did you start using it? Did it bother you or give you additional gas? Just trying to figure out a way that I can get more water in each day. I have started doing videos about my weight loss journey. I'd love if you would check it out. Hugs to you!

Why do u take vitamins is it for ur hair? Another question I have noticed u drink a lot of water, is there some kinda of correlation between water and gastric sleeve?
@FoodieTurnedSleevie7 жыл бұрын
June Hass I actually don't take biotin for my hair anymore. I really only lost hair between months 4-6. Not so much anymore. The vitamins are to supplement what nutrition I may not get enough of in my food. And yes, post weight loss surgery, my surgeon recommends at least 70 oz of water per day.
