I like to use glass food storage containers, personally. They're not cheap but in my experience (34 year old lady who's been cooking since I was 10 😂) the OXO brand is best. The ones with the light green snap on lids, specifically. You can use them in the fridge or freezer and they are tempered glass so you can even put them into the oven straight from the freezer and they won't break. Makes meal prep so easy. I personally still put them in while the oven preheats to let them come to temperature more slowly. Second choice, and more affordable, pyrex glass food storage containers. They can't go straight from freezer to oven but you can store food in them in the fridge or freezer and they are oven safe from room temp so they (and the OXO) make great mini casseroles for one or 2 servings.
@smji52693 жыл бұрын
I had a pyrex container, it's great but you should never give it a heat shock it will break in a second. It's good for cooking and for freezing/refrigerating your food.

@@ren7068 Yw. 💚 Take care of the lids (they can melt) and your set will last forever. Some of mine were my grandma's and are over 30 years old! Another kitchen staple that lasts are cast iron skillets. I like the non coated old school ones. I'm lucky again to have some OLD ones, great great grandma's and grandma's! But they are a pain to move around (very heavy, my 10" griddle weights 13lb I think) and take some TLC, more of an apartment/house essential than one for small kitchenettes or dorms, imo.

pro!! tip!!!! halle!! save your veggie scraps in a ziploc bag (of course you can reuse the bag) like potato skins/onion skins/ends of zucchini etc and either freeze them for a long time or keep them in the fridge for up to a week and you can make homemade veggie broth!! you truly just boil all the scraps in a giant pot with plenty of water and then after a few hours strain out all the discard and then you can save the broth in the fridge for a bunch of recipes :) i've never done it yet but i'm close😅 i'm up to the part where i have everything saved in my freezer haha since you were talking about having a ton of trash, i think this is a great way to feel a little bit better about all the produce scraps also vanilla almond milk in savory recipes is so rough but i've done it before! gotta do what ya gotta do😂

I think I had the same stove in college. If your oven isn't working try lighting the gas from the bottom. Pull open the warming drawer or door (look under the oven compartment ) and turn the oven dial on. You should hear the gas coming out. Turn it off and air out the gas. Then take a match, turn the dial and light it up, you should only have to do this once. That might fix it

I’m a huge thrift shopper too. I have a couple of Goodwills located in the “rich side of town” that I’ve found some amazing buys. Hobo purses for 2.00. A BRAND NEW pair of Uggs for 5.00 (I sold them on EBay for 150.00) Lots of Calphalon cookware. I just bought my hubby two new pairs of OFFICIAL PGA Golf shorts for a dollar a pair. My greatest find was an autographed copy of a Bear Bryant book for my dad. I can’t do the overnight oats thing. My oatmeal has to be hot for me to eat it.

Hi ♥️ a loving response - bees are needed to pollenate all food so no food can technically be vegan under that understanding. The ecosystem functions with animals, plants, and insects dying in the soil, insects pollinating and others eating the plants. Bees cannot be removed from the process and they are sacred. We can express our respect for bees in the process without pretending we can somehow remove them from the process. If it is ethically sourced honey it can actually be helpful to the bees because they can't eat all the honey themselves. When a bee keeper understands and can support the system, we can be in harmony with the bees and hopefully prevent extinction. ♥️
