Hey there, love your channel! I appreciate the realness… sharing your, and your families authentic journey, especially recipe fails and foibles. Cause come on, who doesn’t f-up (love that you cuss also!) when cooking? You’re just real enough to share it with us, which is both, entertaining, and encouraging… the fear of failure stops people from trying. Thank you for generously being you!

Thank you so much!! This was such a lovely message to get - it truly means a lot so thank you for taking the time to do so. I've spent my life failing and soldering on, that's just what life is - we've never hidden our failures from our kids - and so I'm glad it comes off that way in our videos and I hope it does inspire others as you've suggested. Truly appreciate this - lots of love from me and my clan!

Buy borrow bypass or bounce. I have this cookbook and was one of the suggesters. Can add that I made the Good Morning Muffins and at first thought they were just okay but I froze some and now am loving them with any fruit and sometimes almond butter as an evening snack. Also hang in there, Annie. Braces are a pain but so worth it!

I really enjoy your very practical cookbook reviews, and the general feeling of honesty tempered with kindness and good humor in all your videos. And, for what it's worth, I think it's lovely that you are setting a good example for your children by being polite and graceful to the rude and judgmental folks who think it's okay to publicly insist that you raise your kids according to their beliefs.

Thank you for this. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I read and consider all the comments, but I also know what I want to do with this channel - if I just did whatever everyone says it would no longer be our channel, which is what so many people - yourself included - love about it. We're not perfect, but neither is anyone else. Thanks again for taking time to write this very meaningful comment. Truly appreciate it!

The cooking is great and so are the reviews, but your family is just awesome....just the way they are. I am always happy to see a new video from you in my feed, as I know I am going to get honest reviews and lot's of laughs. I know some commenters say negative things about your kids table manners. Complete BS!!! As a mom that lost her 21 year old son to suicide, I would give anything to see his mouth full of food again and talking at the same time.😔 Childhood is so precious and fleeting! So cheers to kids and to great food!!

Hi- I'm a new subscriber (from Wisconsin in the US) and love your videos. I'm working to expand my repertoire of WFPB meals and your cookbook reviews have so useful for that. And I love hearing from your kids and how they like or dislike the dishes you make. You have a delightful family. I also have a cookbook to add to your review list (unless it is already there). It is called First Mess by Laura Wright and she is also from the Toronto area . The recipes in the book and on her website are vegan though often higher fat and higher sugar than I'm aiming for and I haven't yet made anything. But I plan to. I'd love to see what you do with her recipes. It is also such an interesting cookbook to read. Thanks for your youtube channel. It is so helpful to me.

Different palates will be able to pick out different flavours. Since we all have different palates and flavour preferences this will be more useful verses if a dish is "good" or "bad"

My favorite vegan gravy recipe: Mushroom Gravy 1 onion, diced 10 to 16 oz. mushrooms, minced 2 cloves garlic, minced Bell's seasoning (or substitute sage, thyme, rosemary, black pepper, and a little oregano) s & p 2 c vegetable broth 2 T low sodium soy sauce ¼ c flour sherry In a skillet, saute onion in some oil with some salt. When onions brown some, move to outer edges of pan and add mushrooms in the middle. Saute until most of their moisture is gone. Clear space in the center of the skillet and add the garlic and some oil. Saute until golden. Add some Bell's seasoning and some freshly ground black pepper and cook a few min. Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir to combine and cook a bit. Add broth and soy sauce and stir to combine. Stir frequently as it thickens. Add sherry towards the end of cooking.

Thanks for the video! I am glad you landed on the word "bypass" as your 3rd "b" word, as seen in other videos. I don't know if you are aware of this, the Vitamix cleans itself! All you have to do is fill it half way with water and a drop of washing liquid, run if for one minute and rinse.

Not that I don’t trust you, but the French major 🤓 in me looked up the pronunciation of poutine. The québécois pronunciation is poutin as you said it. I have been using zee French pronunciation of pouteen all this time! Silly me. 😎 Enjoy the last days of summer!

Add garlic and cook a little. Add spices and cook 1 min. Add tomatoes and cook 15 min. or more. Add remaining ingredients except green/red onions. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes or longer, stirring occasionally. Serve with rice, topping with green/red onions, and optionally avocado and cilantro leaves.

I thought you might be interested in Ellly's Everyday Whole Grain Sourdough here on YT - she has instructions for making a GF sourdough starter and straight forward GF sourdough breads. Nearly all of her recipes are WFPB.

Your son said ‘I approve‘ in such a professional way 😂 As for the spaghettis… Do you know how to spin them on a fork so that you get a perfect twirl? The secret is to take just a few (2-3) and start spinning. We learn it when we are babies and it’s really fun, even for adults. 😋

Hi Jeremy! I am very excited about this book! I was enticed by most of the recipes. Don't think I would like the lentil soup because I am not a fan of Indian spices, or the porridge, not sure about that one. But everything else looks delicious! The bread, tofu shakshuka, PB&caramel cookies, chili, beet balls, poutine and pancakes look so good! 😋 My library doesn't have the book, so I may order it through your link (it's in my cart). I will get her other book you mentioned first and see if I like that one. Thank you!

I love when you do not follow the recipe as written. Sometimes when I see a recipe and I don’t have all the listed ingredients I feel like I need to go get it which usually leads to me just not making the recipe. I have this book and the meatballs were the first thing I made and I forgot to whizz the oats into flour but I put everything in the processor and blitz. Plant-based cooking for kids, by Faith Goimarac Ralph’s. Keep in mind this is for little kids, BUT my tweens love it! Lots of great practical advice on how to include your kids in the kitchen. Plus the recipes themselves are yummy! Smashed potatoes with the plant based Parmesan recipe is so yummy. It’s the park recipe we make a large batch and keep in the pantry(like the “old” parm in the green can, but ohhh so much better for you) The recipes are great. The side notes and add on recipes make the book great!

Ok, a few things 😂😂 1. I confess I replayed the towel snap several times and Laughed Out Loud every time! 😂 2. I totally understand the mouth pain, Annie! Funny story - after getting my braces rewired/tightened one time, my mom and I went shopping then out for Mexican food (my fave). By the time we got to the restaurant, I couldn’t even THINK of eating the tortilla chips (again, my FAVE) and all I could handle was barely licking the refried beans. I was SO sad that day. 3. Love your channel, your family’s honest reactions, the humour. Thank you! Smiles from Ireland 🇮🇪

WOW you made a lot of recipes out of this book. Stuff I have never seen before, and some that I've seen but not made like this recipe put it together. I agree with Annie, the chili really did look like poo. LOL. Oh that was hilarious. And yet, she liked it! Which was funnier yet. At the end of this video, Woolie came out pushing her hair back, and not expecting to be on video. But she looked adorable. Looked like she either just woke up or just got out of the shower - her hair was very full and beautiful. Thanks for doing all the hard work and testing these books out for your viewers.
