I'm really trying to get my period back. I stopped exercising like 4 days ago. I really want it back, but I don't want to stop exercising. I said I would only do 20 minutes a day in order to get it back...but I really want to exercise...my body is already changing so much and it's only been like 4 days. I don't want my body to look different 😔 I'm struggling 😭

hi there! i'm currently in recovery and one of my biggest struggles was trying to get my period back, but it was not only physically but mentally challenging. But I know how not exercising is really hard, and I want you to know that you're not alone. The main things you just have to do is to take rest days and to eat more often (everyone's different but I had to eat about every 2-3 hours? so three meals and snacks in between each meal), because your body needs to replenish the needed nutrients for your body especially if you've been restricing/overworking yourself for quite a while. I know it's going to be tough, but what helped for me was to instead of moping around thinking about wanting to exercise, distract yourself by doing things you like :) and understand that your body is doing it's work trying to get you back healthy and get your period back :) it's going to take a while, maybe in a month, several, even a year! don't rush it, I was struggling, but I recently just got it again! hard work pays off they say, don't ever give up! :) i'm no dietician but just wanted to share my experience to hopefully help others including you :) if you need any other help, heres my insta : @jacquellineee . after taking a 6ish month break from exercising, i think my relationship with exercising has gotten SO much better! i actually enjoy working out now because i found which workouts work for me and which ones don’t, and i don’t force myself to work out if i don’t feel like it! i don’t really have a workout routine, but i typically do madfit workouts for about 20-30 mins

I‘m trying to go easier on myself and not forcefully workout every day like I used to. Since I finally visited a doctor two weeks ago & they told me to eat more (and reach out for therapy) I‘ve been trying to work my way up to high restriction (so to eat more since I used to low restrict all the time). It’s been one and a half week, I feel myself ignoring calories again and relapsing into this low restriction. Adding to that it’s hard to accept not working out every day or skip another too but there’s this ongoing pressure/guilt. Feeling I would need to go back on track, you know. I always snap my friends my meals because I somehow manage to squeeze 3 or 2 meals per day into my personal calorie limit. They think I‘m probably doing fine with eating more/,,self recovery“ and I don’t wanna rant too much about food all the time when being with them. But I feel myself turning very very lonely and even more empty inside because of my eating disorder. I‘m craving to talk prober about how awful and empty it actually feels like to live this way. It’s just hard to do so (with my friends) and bring that HONEST talk up. Dayum sorry this rant turned out longer then expect lmao Oh and btw I‘m a huge sweet potato fan too! These slap.

idk how u have the motivation to keep making ur home made meals and not popping stuff in the microwave- ive recently been put on antidepressants and it’s just so hard to get up and make a meal instead of cooking some processed frozen food in the microwave

don't worry girl, i totally have those days too. some days, i don't even feel like leaving my room but i'm proud of you for getting out of bed! you don't have to cook every single meal because that can be draining sometimes, but maybe you can make yourself something good and healthy a few times a week! i think cooking is honestly really therapeutic :)

i sometimes air fry it but most times, i bake it at 400 for an hour and freeze it so i can just air fry it and heat it up whenever i want :)
