I do agree getting drunk won't solve your problems and alcohol is dangerous in excess. Will chocolate feed the holy Spirit? Will jelly on my toast feed the holy Spirit? Just seems vain to self impose religion to food when none has been placed.
@ruthdali85184 ай бұрын
@@coffeebuxi agree with you I was thinking the same. For example I enjoy drinking a glass of Coca Cola when I get back home. Is it feeding the Holy Spirit ? Is it edifying ? No it’s just a drink. Even though that’s not alcohol if I drink it too much is gonna be bad for me. It seems a bit religious to me but what’s working for HER relationship with God will not be the same for OUR relationship with God.
@tinachowa11084 ай бұрын
@@coffeebux the problem is alcohol is a spirit, chocolate is not. Her conviction is based on her walk with God, and it won’t be the same for everyone else. However, I do agree that drunkenness is a sin.

Matthew 15:11~ It is not what goes into the mouth of a man that defiles and dishonors him, but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles and dishonors him.” One of Jesus’s first miracles was turning water into wine (alcohol). Having a drink or two is not a sin. Drinking to cope (making alcohol an idol) or getting drunk (lack of self control/gluttony) is. Let’s not forget Ecclesiastes 9:7 ~ “So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!” (:

Jesus didn’t say to cut off those who aren’t walking with him, he literally hung out with sinners! He said not to separate yourself but also not to assimilate with them (become in their likeness). So create the necessary boundaries to not partake in their habits but actively permeate their life with the truth of the gospel, act as Jesus did. As the see the radical change in you they’ll see the power of God and may become more open to the gospel! Otherwise, this video was amazing and loved your other points!🩷

Anyway today I watched christiane F because I felt I was being guided to watch it I felt disgusted! Horrified and gut wrenched and now I've found myself here I love Jesus and I love God he is great he is love and I treasure him and I hope I serve him the best I can. There's no one like him. Amen ! Same! I have noticed recently that it has been very easy to let these types of things go when I’m more concerned with walking with the Spirit. The times that I have earnestly prayed for God to remove particular habits but lacked the discipline to spend time with Him and to read His word, not only did the habits not stop, but I also got caught up in cycles of “trying my best” and failing miserably. When I’m so consumed with the Holy Spirit, I don’t have time to worry about whatever else is going on in the world. It’s truly amazing how much easier it is to bear the burdens of life when we remember to remain yoked to God instead of yoked to ourselves and to the world. God bless you and I pray that you also continue this path throughout your life. God can do it!

I know you didn’t ask but.. Try talking to God about it and asking for him to remove your desire for alcohol. I realized in my walk with God a while back. That trying to break a habit permanently by your own strength is an idol. The only way to permanently break off bad habits, temptations is to ask God. As well as leaning on to his strength & allowing him to remove the desire for us. We just have to be willing & desiring to put in the work to change.

Same on the shows! Not enough people talk about that. These shows literally want the flesh to rule us because they purposefully make most shows anxiety inducing etc in order to target the visceral, primal, universal feelings, in order to make these shows more profitable. I didnt feel I could stop watching these until I became Christian, because the peer pressure is so significant, people even got mad at me when I didnt want to watch things. People even view certain shows as making you more intellectual, or view them as making you someone with good taste and with substance.

Here I thought not having the desire to listen to secular music made me “too Holy” for my friends and family. You make me feel like I’m doing the right thing!

This is the video that I needed. I’ve been convicted about my alcohol consumption. It also confirmed my decision to be abstinent and reduce my friend group. I appreciate your transparency.

I’m enjoying this video (still watching), I recently evaluated my relationship with God and I’ve been happier in my life. It’s a process, I still use cannabis and I’ll drink alcohol socially but as a young man learning from him it’s expected things to change. I use to feel like me doing these things makes me not a Christian or a Christ follower but I repent and ask for forgiveness and do better, I read more of his word and take it in better DAILY in my life. I changed all of my social media and KZbin to see Christian content, it’s been helping me take in the word everyday since social media is a big part of my life. As a 22 year old I have a lot to learn and I learned to not beat myself up if I fall short because it will happen and as long as God is in my heart and he knows I am willing to receive his guidance I shall be saved. I’ve slowly been moving away from secular music but I still indulge here and there but along the way in life things change. I look forward to how I am in my 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, etc. My walk with Christ would be a lot more different than now.

I finished the video, I loved your message. Thank you for sharing your journey. I appreciate God for giving us grace when we are sinning unintentional or intentional. I started looking outside of myself and looking at God first. God is the reason for my success in college, for my great mood, for me having money to move out of my family’s house. It’s not all me. I feel like that’s been helping me on my journey and follow him. I’m not perfect and I do things that aren’t holy at times but that’s because I had a sinful life and I turned my life around so it’s a process. I am proud of God for turning my life around and showing me that’s this is a only the beginning to my success. I will always thank him first before myself or anything because all things can’t happen without God.

God will use your gift and give you the platform! I love this and I’m trying to get into more Kingdom related podcasts and ready my Bible more! 😊 It is challenging to be in college around so much, and trying to be different, but I can say that you’ve gained a new follower because you’ve touched on so much that I needed to hear! Thank you for allowing God to use you, be blessed! 🙏🏽❤️

I stopped listening to secular music a year and 4 months ago and I will say that I see a change with my mindset. When I do hear secular music I side eye it and analyzing everything they say.

Thank You for talking about one of the biggest problems in this world “alcohol drinking”. Nobody is talking about this topic and how problematic it is. So thanks ❤ I have been free from alcohol and drugs for 2 years and 5 months now, thanks to god. ❤

I agree with you, on the drinking especially. God saved me from alcoholism and other addictions. I don’t understand the people who have a drink at night every day. I understand your point completely. My boyfriend still smokes weed and I pray that God breaks his addiction and the justification that it’s natural. I don’t want anything that alters my state of mind. #vigilant 🤲🏻☝🏻✨

I respect you for not breaking up with him. A lot of women tend to leave such a relationship in the name of ""unequally yoked", a simple excuse for running away from the guilt of hurting someone instead of praying for them and with them if you really do care about them

I agree with everything and this was such a confirmation for me ✨✝️ I have also had friends and family members that I had cut off after being saved. It is a hard thing to do but it’s definitely worth it for your soul and growth in Jesus. It’s been 3 years since and I grown so much in faith✨ Have a blessed day everyone ✝️✨

Conviction is a key factor in changing people's lives. But when arguing the point of what's keeping them from a close relationship with God, people often lose sight of this. We can lovingly bring it up, but it's really God's work via the Holy Spirit to convict them. When they see God's glory, they'll be more likely to change their lives forever.

YESS ON THE TIKTOK THING i spend wayy too much time on it, and sometimes when im “doom scrolling” i end up hearing a bunch of secular audios that have harmful lyrics- or worse- ones that constantly remind me of my past lifestyle before truly getting to know Jesus Christ 🏃♀️ so i think im going to take a break from it for a while.. i feel like at least with instagram i don’t really spend much time on reels or anything, but yeah 🙁

I agree with the secular music. Over time I started to naturally just not enjoy it. I got rid of those particular radio stations in my car and replaced it with Christian stations and I do like a bit of jazz here and there. That’s it. I also got rid of social media, everywhere I turned I would see half naked people, cursing, drinking, clubbing, just too much worldly things, I felt so heavy from seeing and hearing all of that. So got rid of it and feel so much better. Thanks so much for sharing this ♥️
