I just picked up my 22 F250 two weeks ago. I switched from a GMC and I love it so far. I have to double check but I don't think I have a gap in between my glove box, or the plastic film in the trim. I'm glad you posted the link to the couplers I keep hearing that as a complaint. I will be ordering those asap!

We didn't have the headlights thing but you're spot on with the safety chain hook up. For a truck that's designed for trailer work that's just dumb. The gap at your glove box is surprising. We've had so many and no fit and finish issues. I found that the mirrors were a fair trade for not having to manually fold the RAM mirrors. But the RAM mirrors are better. Your truck is black so it isn't so noticeable but I really hate that there are no rear wheel liners WTF? Good video! Hey to ECM
@lakes2land7802 жыл бұрын
Yep….rear wheel liners are another option 🤦♂️. ECM says hi Dale 😊
@paulparadis9162 жыл бұрын
Kills me that the Rear wheel wells you have to order them as an option. I got Both for front and rear as an option. In my opinion they should be standard. One thing ford does is a lot of options at least are not bundled and can be ordered separate if so desired. In some cases its nice but I also felt I was being nickeled and dimed for certain options which should have been included.

I saw where you commented about the gap on the glovebox. I saw the same thing on my 2020 F250. It does this because the latch on the right side is not catching. When you close the door, push firmly on from the top center and make sure the latch catches. I did not realize there is a latch on both sides. As far at the rear seat goes, lift up the lower section but do not allow it to lock up. This pulls the top portion out enough to fit your hand in and unlatch it. I also bought the unhooking latch with a strap that allows you to easily pull the top portion forward without lifting the lower portion. It is sold on Amazon for $24.99. It is called a rear seat release for built for 2009 and newer F250 and F350 trucks. It is built by BuiltRight industries.

Great information Quigley, thank you. I will try the glove box again as per your suggestion. Overall, I am in love with this truck. I few minor annoyances, but there seems to be a remedy for each.

Update: you are 100 correct about the glove box! I just opened it and closed it, pressing more on the right side. It closed completely. It looks like I will have to concentrate on pushing the right side of the door more when closing.

Your dislikes are very nitpicky. As for the area behind the backseat, you aren't supposed to store any items back there because of the electronics that are there which need the ability to dissipate heat. As for that small piece of plastic film exposed on the center console, use something like a credit card and stuff it out of sight. The glove box is out of adjustment, probably by whomever installed that aftermarket wiring under it. Probably a 10-minute fix if you were to take the time to actually troubleshoot that. And the headlights, I agree with you on. A Lariat trim level should come with LED headlights in this day and age.
@lakes2land780 Жыл бұрын
I don’t think it’s nitpicky at all. The dealership had plenty of time to prep this truck. When you’re paying $60k for a vehicle, there is no inventory, and work is slow for the prep department…there is no excuse. I have purchased plenty of new vehicles in the past, and I have never had a complaint about one of them. This is plain oversight.

Great video. Real owner talk vs sales hype from dealer. I ordered a GMC 2500 AT4 and F250 Lariat in Nov 2021. The GMC 6.6 gas came in 8 weeks later, the F250 7.3 gas is still on order after 8 months. But, still waiting on heated / cooled seat chips from GM. Wondering if GM has forgot about those of us who purchased w/o chips. I ordered the F250 with black appearance package that comes with LED lights. Not planning to take the F250 when it comes in unless I can sell to someone who doesn't want to wait a year. As much as I wanted the 7.3 and 10 speed, the GM 6.6 gas with cold air intake and pedal max runs and drives great! For me, I like interior and comfort of the GMC better than the Ford. And the ride quality and driveability are better. GM also has auto locking hubs and auto trac awd. And better mpg. Ford still has lockouts. But Ford seems to come with more options standard and that panoramic sunroof is sweet. Ford also offers 48 gal tank in long box. GM lacking there. I tow 12,000 lb 5th wheel and this GM combination works well. This GM has 400 lb higher payload and 800 lb higher gvwr than F250. But get this, 5rh wheel pick holes were off slightly. I had to grind 1/32" off my brand new B&W companion hitch to make it fit. Waiting to see if GMC dealer will do anything about that. Otherwise, I'll dremel the 4 slots in the puck system. No truck is perfect, but liked this video and thought I'd share my comparison and why I went with GMC over F250, despite GM having lower HP and torque, and lacking 10 speed in gas engine option.

I have always loved GMC trucks. I worked for a tree company growing up and the owner used only GMC/GM trucks. He would not take a Ford if you give it to him for free 🤣. GMC has some beautiful trucks, and I was not opposed to buying one…..if there were any to buy. This truck fell into my lap at a great price. I will be doing a 10,000 mile update soon, keep an eye out 😊.

All Legit finds, I opted for the LED Headlights when I ordered as I am older and need more light. Same on the mirrors, I found the passenger side is hard to get use too myself, I think because there not as long as the Ram's mirrors, so coming from a 2019 Ram the mirrors were much better. Same on the hitch, what gives on that design that u need to add adapters with a rating of what your towing. I did the same thing on mine also. I found the fit and finish very good on my truck, much better than my Ram was where I had noticed on the tail gate was always to one side where the Ford maintains a 1/8 inch gap on both sides and all around the truck. I don't have the issue on the glove Box, might be just an adjustment, Id bring it back to a dealer and have them adjust it and also remove that packing material from the trim. The rear seat I added the strap latch, got it on Amazon for $30 bucks I believe. I also added a shorter antenna I got from Amazon. Yeah the fuel mileage is rotten but I don't tow as much as you do but I have gotten 17mpg on the highway by keeping it in its sweet spot 62 to 63 mph. Towing I get 9 MPH, but as you say its a F350 7.3 Lariat, same as mine. I did order mine with the options I wanted. I also have a plow set up so had to cut the front Vallance to fit the brackets. Good review and good concerns. Look forward to the things you like as there are many that I like vs the Ram. Thanks for a good video.

After 3 vehicles I have left Ford. 250 XLT, HD F150 trucks and a Bullitt. The engineers need to care..... better quality . Many people forget the turn around at Dodge. Daimler bought Chrysler reengineered everything but the motors. Fromm the 300 to the Jeep line that took over the nation. The Ram was revamped by them and has continued and as you know well offers spring suspension verses the leaf of Ford or the GMC torsion bar .. All my Ford's interior just rattle out. Suspension was good the 1st year then just became a game of aftermarket. I want our guys to do better. I never had the same issue or as many with the German products.

How can you hate that Ford makes the LED’s optional? You knew you weren’t getting the LED’s when you bought it. Buy the Platinum and they are standard. I do however agree that the Lariat level should have the LED’s. They intentionally don’t allow the driver side rear seat to fold. The electronics for different options are positioned behind that seat. My glove box does not have that gap-dealer should replace that. I installed D-rings for my trailer chains. They were much cheaper. That plastic is there to dampen noise. It is in mine but you can’t see it unless you get close to it. Those side steps don’t look like the ones that came in my Lariat.
@lakes2land7802 жыл бұрын
Ok. First the LED’s. I get the whole option thing. But a Lariat is a pretty well optioned truck. It’s not a XL, XLT. And I sure as heck was not laying another 15k for a Platinum. The sticker on this was enough as is. I do believe the Lariat Premium package gives you the LED’s, as does the Tremor. But that was my point. The Lariat should be optioned with them. The side steps aftermarket. I did not order this truck, it was ordered by another gentleman who cannot take delivery of it due to financial issues. I had to jump on it because inventory is so low and Ford was talking about not taking any more build sheets on super duty’s until 2023. I LOVE this truck. The more I drive and haul with it, the more I like it.

@@lakes2land780 I didn’t want the LED’s or the moon roof but that is what I got on my Lariat because it was the only one on the lot. I do like the LED’s now that I have them but still could do without the moonroof. According to the truck, I’m getting 22 on the highway at 75 mph. If you mean nit-picking, I guess you can say I am. When you pay 70k for a truck, you would expect for these issues to not exist. These are issues that are commonly complained about, but Ford still has it address. So I think the nit-picking is well deserved. Thanks for watching.

Every video I see about the Ford's newer trucks seems like it's just all guys that are doing nothing but complaining about the dumbest stuff, honestly in this video 90% of it is most likely is the dealership that did the pdi, which is a total look over the vehicle when the vehicle comes off the hauler... that lil plastic tape that's on the center console it's a wrapping so tech's n the hauler guys don't get grease every where they just didn't take it all the way off it probably wriped off there, and every pdi u gotta open the glove box some dealers put the paper work in there I never saw that lose of a glove box on these trucks...I'm a ford tech and have been for 13 years , someone prolly messed that up, also alot of trucks that come into dealers most are used for demos to the new n used car dealership salesmen , also they can give the inspector or give the best tech a demo that's why u see alot of trucks with 500 plus miles on them and up I've seen demos be up to 5,000 also alot of guys that use the truck for work like you they rather get a demo cause they cut the price...also u did another guy had this built personally for him but couldn't do the deal at the end which causes problems too, that hitch I've never seen the tow chain hooks that small, maybe that's how he wanted it idk... those mirrors are awesome u just gotta get use to them they would get to me at times when if test drive customer's trucks but u get used to them...but we did get cpl complaints with the motor in them not acting right, but usually that were guys that drove in extreme weather all the time n would power wash their truck wrongfully n mess up the weather strip....that 7.3 gas we don't have alot of info on those yet because it's just to new ... the front lights those did look a lil dim but it's day time n also ford would get a lot of feedback about their lights being to bright n caused accidents or maybe that's how the guy who asked ford to build it that's how he wanted it...idk if that's an option I haven't looked but possible... sorry for the long comment it just cracks me up when I see ppl complain about a truck that they bought and 75% of the time it's guys buying Ford's and I'm a ford guy and I think that's just because their do supprised how great ford trucks are so they have to find lil stupid things that they don't like!!... but anyway great video and a great truck!... I also have my own scrap metal, junk removal company!!
