I'm running a size small 2018; the double bottle mount allows a pump to be attached to the bottle holder and the box I have a tool, tyre plugs and patches along with the tubeless repair tools and zip ties etc and then use a strap for a tube and levers down by the crankset meaning I only carry a pressure gauge in my bag extra.

about your issue with the spectral ´luchbox´ i bought a tubolito tube and i was able to fit a crankbrothers f15 inside it a tube, 2rim levers and even an mini airpump

I have one. The main suspension pivot bolt you mentioned came loose on my third or fourth ride, and I eventually ended up having to locktight it (with the less strong version, obviously) on. Other then that its a great bike. I do wish that it had a slightly steeper seat tube angle though, and I seem to get a lot of pedal strikes.

Great review, happy with my spectral, but worrying about the pivot bolts, as they have stopped me from riding multiple times! Used loctite on every one of them, but wondering if a bolt check on all pivot bolts is required before every ride?

Probably not, just the drive side of the main pivot should be enough. I would check them all before a race or bikepark day though

Hello and thank you for the informative review. I am in the market for a spectral 8.0 and I have a question regarding the sizing. I am 185cm tall with an inseam of 89cm. Should I go with a size L as the Canyon site recommends or do you think I could go one size up for the XL? Thank you very much and keep up the good work!

The wires under the bottom of the frame are such a bad idea. Ripped a few on the bottom, internal routing for now on.

One question, what bottle cage is that and would it fit a medium frame? I want to run a water bottle on mine, but I dont want to have a bottle cage showing when I dont have the waterbottle in

This is the 750ml fabric cageless bottle. I doubt it'll fit in a M frame, but there are smaller versions available. Make sure to put some protective tape where the bottom of the bottle touches the frame

@@UnicornBikes I only see the double cage clip bottle on canyon's website (it's possible to buy only one bottle without support bout does it fit with this kind of weird button ? And do we have to buy these buttons cause I don't see them on the photos of bikes on the website)

I ordered a side loading water bottle cage and it’s work great. I can fit both small and large bottle type with in interference.

I'm not gonna say you wrong or right, but I will say you are using your trail bike in a very different way and (to me personally) strange approach. To specify : 1 bottle on trial bike ? (Camelbackpack ) same for the pocket for snack .. check bolts before every ride ? Again maybe I'm wrong but my picth 2011 been serving me well for 10 years now. No bolt checks every ride and no problems. I maintain it myself. I don't know just sound snobby af ..lol But anyhow I thank you for review Nice bike 👍

The biggest fidlock bottle in size L frame. To remove bottle you twist it instead of moving upwards, which makes it easier.

I really don't like what they did for the 2021 model... they didn't change anything in the frame (many people have asked for more than 2 years to make the head and seat tube shorter), and for some reason, they decided to reduce the travel in all RockShox builds! like WTF? fox equipped models have a piggyback shock, 150 mm rear and 160 front while all RockShox models have 140mm rear, 150 front except the spectral 9 which has 150/150 (also means more pedal strikes on the ground). All RockShox models now use a non-piggyback shock which is really underpowered for what this bike can do. I was looking at the 3000€ price point for a new bike and I really liked the spectral 7 but, as for now, I don't think it's worth it. The value has significantly dropped
