I started this season with the intention of breaking 100 and accomplished that pretty quickly. Today I shot a 91 and if I didn't play pinball with a few trees on the 18th for a triple bogey I would've broke 90 today. I birdied the 18th on my last round. I love this crazy game!

I’m struggling off the T currently, hip flexers are not helping my swing any, but smaller shots, pitching and chips putts are saving me at times. I probably just need to swing easier, distance is not a issue. I also need to control my emotions, I do get mad at myself. Which compounds my bad shots off the T. Great advice.

Two things, although you expressed them differently: 1. play certain par 4s like a par 5 ; bogey is a good score, and 2. hit the approach shot straight. I do not have your reliable swing (very few of us do), so I learned to hit low, straight punch shots with a lower lofted club. If I am 80-90 yards out, instead of hitting the wedge I will punch a 9 or 8 iron and roll it onto the green. These shots are so much more reliable for me.

Thanks for another great video. For me I think it’s staying inside my ability and knowing my distances. I’m very familiar with having to hit a longer club on a similar shot to my golf buddies and I’m fine with that. It’s the score at the end and putting yourself in situations with higher probabilities of success, that makes the difference. Know your distances and play the safe shot, not the one in a million shot. Thanks again!

Great video... You were a very smart young man back then to evaluate ur game so well at that age and be disciplined enough to execute. For me to get the most out of my game golf is like playing chess. One move setting up the next. Knowing ones game and understanding how to manage ur way around a golf course. Even when i was playing my best i rarely shot right at a pin knowing my misses on tucked pins. Always trying to play the high percentage shot for success. For me anyways...

I am now playing some of my best golf I have ever played because I don’t swing hard and I think more about were to hit the ball, on my good days high 70s on my bad day low 80s more consistency. As for hole in one my first one I ran down the hole then nearly pass out from exhaustion 😂 my second one I just jumped up and down, my third was ho hum another one. Always enjoy the tips. The simulators are great for working on some things, but I think there's no replacement for hitting balls in places like your spot near the school. The lie also influences the shot trajectory. So it's important to know how far and in what direction (predominantly) you hit each club from course conditions.

I wish I had picked up golf as a teenager or even earlier. Could’ve played with my dad if I had. But I was playing football and baseball. Didn’t pick up golf until my mid 20’s. Lost some time due to a back injury-like 7 years. I wish I was as consistent as you. I have about a 60% chance of hitting it where I’m aiming. I don’t like those odds. I think I need to break down and go talk to a coach. Just to make sure my mechanics are repeatable. If I could make the same swing every time, that would be fantastic

Like you, I am the sexiest in my group. 🤣😉 I know you didn't mention that but felt an obligation to put that out there. Our mindsets, approaches to certain holes, practice efforts and the emotional aspects you spoke of are eerily similar. I need to allow myself to get a little more emotional or excited on the course when I get a birdie or hit a great shot. I am golfing this morning and I will do just that. My goal today won't be a score. It will be to truly and genuinely enjoy my good shots and express the emotion that should accompany an excellent shot or hole. I will report back later today. 😁
