When I started Unity, I didn't know anything about it, and I wanted my first game to be really cool, so I spent 1 YEAR on my first unity project, and once the game was finished, I realized I had learnt so much during this year. Now It's been about 9 years I've been practicing code or 6 years of game development, and after making a lot of fun projects and some mobile games, I found myself lacking of a lot of Unity knowledge as for performances optimization, multiplayer code, AI, Blender, and so much more.. So I just looked at a good channel to learn more Unity stuff since I'm not so good with the english documentation, and I found yours, so I hope I'll be able to learn some useful and cool things here, in order to make better projects, in a better way!

@@beProsto no it's not. I am working on a game engine currently and you have to manually create asset pipelines, shader interpretation, vertex specifications, etc.

@@beProsto If it's easy for you and not even professional industry developers, then you are either a god tier programmer or you are spewing bullshit. My bet's on the latter.

Nice! I'm currently working on cleaning up my past projects. Extracting the useful scripts I can find in them and have them under a single repository. While also making the scripts a bit more generic if it needs and removing hardcoded references, etc. Currently stuck on two big "systems", the weapon system and health/armor/shield system I have. It's gonna take a while before those are extracted, rewritten to my standards. Can't wait until it is finished. :) Some things that I've learned over the year (mainly interfaces, abstract classes, and ScriptableObjects) have been fun to tinker around with, and I'm still learning something new! I wish I could join for the game jam but Classic is released the 27:th. Sad to say I'm more of a gamer than gamedev. Good luck to everyone else!

Hey Brackeys, You mentioned you lost data because you had no backups. I also lost so much files but still dont know how to save them correctly. Would be great if you make a Video how to save you work progress :D

Just copy all the files of the project into another folder or on google drive or something. That's basically backup. It's super easy, barely an inconvenience.

What I Learned After a Year of Game Dev is ..... You will Never Learn Everything. PS : I Really Know How PAINFUL Wirting ur own Game Engine is, Writing a Math Library, A Renderer , A VFS (Virtual File System), Integrating a Scripting Language, ECS, ... etc 😵. But I will Go For It. Gonna Participate in the Jam 😄😄

Do remember that you don't have to do everything from scratch. Often it's more motivating to actually see something happen on screen. Good luck, I'd love to see a snapshot of what you've made :D

@@nielsvs2203 Actually all I Have is a Blank Window (Not Even a Triangle), Because I Haven't Touched the Renderer yet, I Have been Planing the Engine Architecture for a long time and Just Started Coding 20 Days ago. if u are Interested in the Engine u Can Check its Repository on Github : github.com/AhmadMamdouhEnan/Neux. A good architecture is the key to a healthy project, I can't tell you how many times I've seen engines implode because there wasn't a good architecture. Seems like you're on the right track

First video in a while that I really enjoyed. It was super relatable. I also have dropped so many projects over the years but learned so much from each. And I also remember what got me into Unity and away from Torque was the tornado twins, not that GarageGames cash grab didn't help. But i'm actually currently working on my first publicly released game for an actual profit which is kinda scary. So between that and my real job I'm super busy, but I think I want to try entering the game jam as well. If I push hard enough I think I can make a fun game in a week. Nothing crazy, but at least fun.

That's awesome! What is your first released game gonna be about?
@DarkParadice5 жыл бұрын
Atm it's a series of mini game modes that make up the game, and the current mode I'm working on is almost done. I need 1 more than I'll feel happy with the amount of content accessible to players. I don't want to let people down with too little, even though my intentions are to add updates and more game modes free of cost. Looking for end of next year though if all goes well.
