In today's video, I discuss Philadelphia Eagles QB, Jalen Hurts, and his NFL Record Breaking Performance. Jalen is really starting to put away the really bad takes about his play as a pocket passer. He is growing every week, he is getting familiar with Kellen Moore's offense, and the comfort level, trust, and now his play is starting to become difficult to deny.

Exactly what I’ve been saying. Imagine this team gets its first ten/twenty down too and plays with a lead and you let this defense be more aggressive. Jalen has room for improvement and yet still had an awesome game! The fact Fred Johnson + Steen + even Calcaterra have just made the OL/TE injuries a non-talking point is so big too.

What’s up Ryan! I agree. The opening possession, and game plans in general have to be more consistent. They took a big step forward last week. I know the FG occurred in the 2nd quarter, but it was still our 1st possession. I can’t wait until they hit pay dirt on the first possession so the national media let’s go of this narrative.

😂😂😂 I like Greg, but I went back and checked out his comments on Jalen. He definitely was a little out of character last week. It sucks that he is one of the guys that has a speaking fee, I fully support him in doing that, but it does put up barriers to having a discussion with him and pushing him for more information on what he was evaluating. I like Jeff and Adam, but I’m pretty confident I could push him more than those two on tape study. I don’t know, maybe one day I’ll pay the fee and try to get him on the channel.

What’s up Theodore! I’ve stated since the early 2022 season, the 28-32 attempt mark normally means Jalen is playing well, we have a double digit lead, and we’re playing 4 minute offense in the 4th quarter. However, the 24 or fewer mark, that normally means we have beat a team into the field. Normally in that situation, we have an inherent talent advantage along the line of scrimmage, and we’re controlling the game.

Last question gate what’s your take about hurts being the only qb in the nfl to hold the ball the longest at 3.3 seconds is that related to progressions he’s not making
@CoachHeitter
@CoachHeitter 3 ай бұрын
It’s related to scheme, and the QB’s comfort level within in it. Over the last three weeks, PFF has Jalen’s Time to Throw, I’m not sure if PFF uses GPS data like Next Gen Stats so grain of salt here, at 2.9 seconds. That is a pretty noticeable trend downward. In my opinion, this scheme is fairly vertical. That is always going to matriculate the time to throw numbers upward. Add to it Kellen’s use of under center, play action we saw beginning to emerge within this offense, and that’s going to tick your time to throw upward. Now, the late huddle breaks, bad footwork at times to hit the under routes, and teams refusing to come out of 2 high at times definitely causes a delay in the QB’s ability to read, and that ticks you upward too. I think they’re slowly incorporating Kellen’s quick game. If we can get a 3-4 period of around 2.72-2.82 time to throw marks in succession, that’s a good indicator that Jalen has the system down to a T.

This video makes me want to be delusional about the eagles again 😂 good to hear there's some positives for the offense to still reach their full potential. If the defense keeps improving, this could be a top team in the NFC
@eaglenation34

Hey gate what you think about this narrative that’s going around that they asking hurts to do less by having less throws a game. Most he’s thrown last 3 games is 20 times. They’re saying it’s to keep his turnovers down. Do you buy into it.
@CoachHeitter
@CoachHeitter 3 ай бұрын
There is a lot beneath the surface here. To an extent, there is an element of truth to the statement. However, there also mitigating circumstances too that impact our run to pass ratio. To start, Jalen currently has the third longest attempt streak without an interception. #1 Justin Herbert #2 Russell Wilson #3 Jalen Hurts. However, look at those teams and what trait do they hold in common? All three commit to the run to an extent. The Chargers are a more complex evaluation because they rank #20 in rushing attempts, but their coordinator is Greg Roman who is known for working with Colin Kaepernick and Lamar Jackson. However, he has started to use a lot of west coast, short game passes too. He’s using Herbert on those high percentage throws. The Steelers are #1 in rushing attempts, and the Eagles are #7 in rushing attempts. Coordinators can obviously control interceptions by turning to a strong O-Line, and a versatile QB within the run game. This is definitely part of the story with Jalen and Philly. However, on the other hand, the Eagles have now had 2 consecutive 10+ point wins, and even in Cleveland we ended the game on their 12 yard line. So, if you’re playing a lot of 4-minute offense, that’s going to have an impact on your run-to-pass ratio. There will come a time when Jalen needs to throw the ball to close out a game, like in week 1 vs Green Bay. That will give us a lot of info once we reach that type of game again.

None over the last three games, and PFF has only 1 TWP recorded over the last three games. Seems like he is taking care of the ball, getting comfortable in this offense, and it’s starting to look dangerous.
