What I Learned Getting A Living National Dex For Pokemon Home

One thing that can be helpful to know for completing the dex is that all pokemon from gens 1-6 (minus mythicals) are available between all the gen 6 games (XY and ORAS). So if you theoretically wanted to catch everything yourself without trading with others, you'd only need to play gen 6 onward. Mythicals might require playing other games, but they're also all likely to be given out in future events at some point

You’d still need 2 3DSs with 2 different Nintendo IDs so that you could trade with yourself for all of the trade evolutions.

@@JJroks543 not necessarily. You have the GTS in Pokemon Home. You can just request the same pokemon at a similar level.

About the Manaphy egg, if you have any of the gen 4 games you can get Manaphy and any other gen 4 and 5 mythical Pokémon from events by connecting to a different server. Look this up on KZbin. Methods on how to do it differs and are on KZbin. No hacking or softmodding (what's the difference anyway?) needed. Edit: Never mind this post. You already knew this. :)

One tip I would give people that I realised a bit too late because I focus too much on the game I'm playing right now is not to hyperfocus on the region you're playing in right now too much. Example: You're playing BDSP and you're missing a Porygon-Z for your dex (and you're like me and want it to come from the Sinnoh region)... you don't have to wait for it to show up in the Trophy garden. Just get one in LGPE or whatever, breed it in Sinnoh and evolve it... It's so obvious but just realising and doing this earlier and playing the games more concurrently would have saved me SO much time. Also leveling Pokémon is very different between Gens. SwSh (if the Pokémon can be transferred to SwSh) is a lot easier than BDSP (not that leveling in BDSP is hard, just less convenient)... really don't be me and focus too much on one gen at a time w play them concurrently and use their features when it makes sense.

I got a powersaves 3ds and they have copies of the event Pokémon from 3ds era so I just changed the date on my 3ds and it’s as legit as possible

One thing bad with Pokémon go I hate is location location location it only good live in good location for Pokémon go and it event love bad location like I do it impossible do those event without spoofing I am pro spoofing and against it it just depend on your location live great location no should not be able spoof in go but live bad location like I do should be able to spoof heart all they way cause make it more balance that way

I have a few in the works but not filmed yet. I wanted to show how people can easily transfer pokemon from their original gameboy cartridges (Gen1&2) to Pokemon home. Also I will be doing a series where I show how I get entire evolution lines shiny eventually getting a shiny National Dex but that will be a slow series cause I'm not looking to do quick easy things. I'm also doing a wonder trade video showing the variety along with other stats to show how much of the dex you can fill just by randomly trading.

getting a living dex on home with GO pokémon is also a pain in the ass... spinda? can't transfer. cosmog recently had its debut. yes? nope. not to ignore dragon pokémon that rarely spawn, but need like 400 candy :D

I haven’t been banned, although all my event Pokémon even if hacked have all the correct info for their respective events. Pokémon go is always an option to get rare event Pokémon. Or you can always wait for game freak to do a new event for the Pokémon

@@cyxx414 luckily you only really need a “Lets go” game transfer one Pokémon from go then capture 2 meltan in Go. Transfer them to “Let’s go” then evolve them in let’s go. You only need to interact with Go for a total of like 5 minutes if you really hate go that much

Shiny Celebi from Go wasn't transferrable to Home. I highly doubt that shiny Mew will be. I got mine from a secondhand Sapphire game which had the illusive Japanese shiny Mew on it. Of course it won't have my ID, but when tranferrred from FireRed or LeafGreen at least its region will be Kanto.

I got my Shiny mew from a Pokemon trading group back in my X&Y days. It's japanese and I have no clue if it's legit. It's in home but idk it doesn't feel earned for me even though I did trade legit stuff for it.

I was 100% under the impression it was transferrable, that sucks. I guess I'll have to soft reset in Crystal 3DS version

@@Dan_TheAnimal Understandable feeling though you did earn it because you played by the rules. For me I brought a few living dexes (non shiny) on DS games because that was my way to gain event Pokémon I couldn't get otherwise. Obviously that Mew was cloned, as that was possible in Emerald, but I call it legit. Have you ever got your hands on a Mew from My Pokémon Ranch? I had one but Pokebank did 't accept it and as I needed to restart Black I unfortunately gad to say goodbye to that Mew. For other people it seemed to have worked to transfer their Mew to Pokebank so I'd probably try it again with a new save later on.

Depending on how patient you are you could 100% do this without hacking. Probably the hardest on would be a 100% legit maniphy you would need to get a Pokemon ranger game that never transferred an egg before or possibly the Gen 5 event pokemon. It depends on where you draw the line on "hacking". I'm thinking the gen 4 games coming out this year will make getting some of the gen 4 pokemon much easier.
