I have been watching you since your UC Davis years and seeing you grow to a mature and a beautiful soul is so heartwarming ❤️ Watching all the late 13 to early 14 vlogs with your new apartment and the dyed short hair with that unique vlogging styles to meeting stephanie and you introducing ben to clothesencounters and all made me so nostalgic and makes me want to be a teenager again. You have always been like a big sister I never had lol. I just stepped into my 20s and this video really is helpful and I want to say thank you. ❤️

Loved how you told your story, it felt like a mini-documentary 🤍 I’m 21 and always feel so behind, but you make me excited to enjoy the journey of my 20s, Jenn. ✨A few lessons I’ve learned are: 1) i’m the only person who is going to prioritize me and know what i need/want 2) self-interrogation is crucial, be in touch with your feelings/thought patterns - it’s telling you something important 3) i need to communicate, no one will ever be able to read my mind 4) life design is more important to me than searching for motivation or self-discipline 5) my identities & my voice/vision matter, i am bringing something valuable 6) chemistry between people is impt, but you won’t have it with everyone 7) everyone wants to be seen, heard, understood, and loved as they are 8) when overwhelmed, do a brain dump 9) let go of anything you can’t control, there’s nothing wrong with you inherently 10) define your personal small joys, they will keep you going

Jenn, my girlcrush! You have been a huge inspiration of mine for so many years. I've been following you since the Oakland days before you even met Ben...I remember the short brown hair and fish eye lens phase like it was yesterday! Growing up I didn't have a lot of Asian role models to look up to, but you taught me so much about expressing myself through fashion, working on myself, and not being afraid to be different. I'm so proud to have watched you grow over the years, and to see you flourish into the BOSS you are today.

I am also 27 and fully agree with your comment! I would say I "found myself" (and my passion in life which is international travel) at 24 or 25, went through big changes at 23-25, and ages 26 and 27 have been the best years for me as far as self-awareness, self-love, self-progress, and me finding my direction in life (we won't talk about 2020 as a year, though.) Loving my late 20's, just hoping life gets better and easier for all.

I recently turned 20 and I couldn't be happier. I look back at even 5 month ago and I know I don't want to go back since I am better and more knowledgeable than ever. Most people don't realize this. I've never been one to care about others' trends and views that don't relate to me, something most people only realize later so don't worry.

Drakesden i think that depends on what kind of teenhood life you had. In my case, i never really got to enjoy my teenage years in to the fullest. I never got to do the things other highschool girls/boys did (sleepovers, prom, friday parties, be in a relationship, road trip with friends etc .,) i pretty much had a bland teenage experience, nothing fun and special and all of that due to me having a strict parent/grandparents and there's nothing i could look back to when I'll reach my 30s, 50s, and so on.. That is why i wanted all those time to get back and just break those rules if i have to.

Maybe you should get you algorithm checked. You only receive suggestions of content you consume. This is the type of content I get, the calm one because I consume calm stuff, you cant consume drama content and expect the algorithm to miraculously know that you prefer calm stuff. I'm not where I expected myself to be, but I'm working with what I have and learning to better take care of myself haha. I have wasted 4 years in college, with that 4 years, almost every year I always shift (change) course because I wasn't sure if this course gonna fit me for the rest of my life. Mhm excuse me for hopping in so abruptly but sometimes people, at the end of their lives are more likely to regret the things that they didn’t do than the lessons they’ve learned from the things that they did... Even if it were ones that they didn’t think they should’ve learned. It’s the power to get back up at any given situation perhaps that is the moral of the story. I mean if you look at it from a broader view at the end of your life, everyone has had some good and bad times. One cannot exist with the absence of the other. Being careful or wreckless can have the opposite effect in different situations also depending on how the person naturally reacts to certain things. I always say stick to your gut feeling :) Anyways, hope you did something today that made you feel good about being here. Take care 🌎

I guess everyone learn things differently... When I hit 30, I felt like it was the worst year of my life, I haven't achieved anything, I still haven't dated anyone, I still live with my mom and dad, I had no close connections no friends no compeers, I was drowned in work and had nothing much going on in my life. I'm 35 now and trying to make everyday seem the best it can, I'm comfortable and blessed that I don't suffer from any kind of emotional traumas, my family is fine, I'm in good shape, and I can afford to take care of the old folks and myself. I do wish sometimes that I could go back to my 20s and change some things so that life as it is for me now could be much more impressive, but that would mean I couldn't have learned what I understood today. The biggest takeaway for me was to understand that self growth is relative, life is beautiful and different, for everyone. Don't stop living, stop only when you are dead :)

For me 15th yr was the most educational yr. Don't need to get overwhelmed (ngl I'm lol). Idk where u r coming from but our lives are all connected at the end, so yeah after this huge pandemic try to connect with whatever, ppl or animals or some hobby or some skillset or ur education. It's not necessary but what I see is getting involved keeps u positive and helps get evolve. My 15th yr was the most lonely of all due to this lockdown but there's always something to look forward to, isn't it. Well, I just turned 16 couple weeks ago and at last it's ur life, so it's gonna be totally urs, make the hell u want out of it.. I'm currently 24, 25 in two months, I haven't done what I want to because my country is a dangerous place to live so night outs, sleep overs, travelling alone at 20, etc weren't in my list. But a year ago I made the decision of making me happy, physically, mentally and emotionally happy, I cut off people that were sucking my energy. I started working out, a better skincare routine, better eating habits, more family reunions, bought more plants and cooking more. I am indeed happy. I still have a lot to live: traveling alone, falling in love, finding a new job. But I kinda feel sad that my 20 to 22 life was constantly thinking "ugh I have so much college work to do I can't anymore" and I mean, yeah, I had fun from time to time but expectation were high and reality hit hard lol either way, we need to stop stressing. I’m 24 going to 25 and I really enjoyed this video. I haven’t been able to live a life I wanted to because of lack of independence. I couldn’t fully enjoy my early 20s because I was stuck in my parents place (I say stuck since that’s how it felt like). Went to school. Studied. Sometimes hung out with friends when I was allowed to. It was a cycle I wanted to change but didn’t want to make my parents mad or disappointed. I still am in my early 20s now and the pandemic I think gave me some time to reflect on how i am as a person a bit and who I want to be. It got me into really pushing myself to find jobs in hopes I could get money and finally move out. I love my parents but it’s one of those feelings you get that maybe for my benefit that I become independent. Following their rules and expectations for so long has made me tired and gave me low self esteem. Deep down I know my worth but having doubts I had because of a comment my mom made or the ‘you were so much smarter when you were younger’ comments she’d let out. I still have some years to go and so many more experiences to explore. But this video has made me realize how time isn’t waiting for anyone and not doing anything takes away from that meaningful life that you want. Thank you Jenn.

Thank you for being so genuine, to not be afraid of showing the weaknesses. To show the beauty in the ugly parts of life. I think I've followed you consistently since around 2011. Now 28 myself, you feel like someone I've grown up with. Seeing your businesses grow is inspirational and I continue to aspire to achieve my own successes seeing what's possible from you. Never in my life have I wished to be able to go out like this more just when the current situation doesn't allow it. Irony. It shows us how much we should appreciate contact with others- and how fun and exciting contact with strangers can be. When this pandemic is over, I won't take it for granted anymore.

This is amazing and this is exactly what I needed. I’m 25 years old and I’ve been going through a rut and where I’m scared to get old and continue living because we only have one life to live. And lately that thought was taking away my joy in life. So seeing this makes me feel better 🧡 So, thank you.

I just turned 20, and I’ve had 2 suicide attempts, since I was in and out of an abusive relationship for years. This video truly makes me so grateful to be able to continue to live, learn and enjoy life. Which is a feeling I’ve struggled to have. Thank you for letting us into your life. I appreciate how personal and open you are. You’ve grown into such an admirable person. I hope you find inner peace and are more kind to yourself. You deserve nothing but the best. Here’s to entering your 30s 🥳

don't be disappointed!! these things take so much time and tbh this video doesn't show all the hard parts along the way & struggles & feelings of insecurity. it's very normal to feel lost and confused and disappointed in your 20s. don't compare yourself to anyone, particularly not people's lives on social media.

You have the best age where you can experience things, anything! (make art, music, write, cook, travel, make friends, share your passions and it will grow through the people you will meet and over the years. You cannot make a decision until you've tried it out so don't be afraid. Just live and share and don't be afraid to start small :) This was an odd advice from an old 33 years old woman ;)

Best wishes for you and your family, especially for the baby on the way x

I do feel a lot less alone. I’m 21, and I still have years ahead but it’s still that fear of growing and getting older and that feeling of wasting my life not doing the things I want or should’ve and I don’t want any kind of regret and anything. But watching this, however way it showed up, I can say that I feel relieved honestly. Thank you

This video made me cry in such a good way! I experienced turbulent teen years and now, at the age of 22, I can barely recognize my old self and the things she thought and prioritized. I've learned the most life lessons about myself and the world this year, and for the first time in my life I genuinely feel positive about the future. This video was a beautiful tribute to just how crazy the 20's can be and how we are always, always learning and growing. thanks for this

Thank you for this video, it sparked a lot of self-reflexion and very nice memories!

I've followed Jenn starting on when I was in high school, and I've finished a masters at her alma mater now. It's surreal to think I've followed her for this long and how much she's changed along the way. Cheers to your 30s Jenn, I can only wish to experience the rest of my 20s in a similar fashion. Maybe not as successful, or charming, but in a way that I can peacefully say goodbye to them too.

I'm 22. Will be 23 in 2021 and I'm not having fun either. 18 to now has been RUFF. I got into the school of my dreams at 18, it was such a high. Then... I lost a parent, my family went practically bankrupt, had to be pulled from school, had to move back to my country that I hadn't been for YEARS, lost many of my friends, saw many goals & dreams I'd work towards fall flat, disappointment after disappointment, lost hope and energy and the ability to feel excited. Now I'm finally going to school at nearly 22, moving to London for uni (literally in 8 hours from when I'm writing this) in the middle of a pandemic and national lockdown, leaving my family to go into isolation. I don't know how it will go, I think the first half of this year might be rough. But I hope 23 turns out to be a positive turning point for me. I don't need it to be flashy, I just want to be happy and healthy (mind & body) and secure. I hope I meet people and make connections to replace the ones I lost. Hope I create new goals & dreams to replace the ones I lost. Even as I'm packing my bags, I'm more anxious than excited. I hope I get my excitement back. I hope anyone reading this knows that nothing is permanent. Good things aren't permanent, but neither are bad things.

I’m 24, still having an existential crisis since like 17 lol, but this vid helped me realise that even though I feel like I’m in an existential crisis, it’s clearer than what it use to be. I keep rushing myself everyday to keep growing and I get frustrated at myself for not being meeting stupid high expectations - so watching this really reminded me to look back in how far I’ve come and realise that it’s okay to take my time to develop myself. Thank you Jen

As someone in my early thirties I can relate to a lot of what you shared in this video. Moreover, to anyone in their 20s questioning their life - reaching your 30s is great! A single choice is not life-defining; your life is a cumulation of what you do, which doesn't stop when you hit an age milestone. Cheers!
