I went to college for the first time at 28. I went back for a second career at 41.

You have come to me in perfect timing. I divorced this week my husband of 31 years, I was in such a horrible low place of self blame. Literally in a dark night of the soul. You set me free of harrowing self blame. The statement that you wouldn’t have given your ex the time of day as a young woman…that’s what I did, 24 years old, made a huge immature mistake. You are a blessing to all women, your wisdom is a transcendence from all wise women before you.

Sending you hugs and love! ❤ I just finally got out of a 10 year toxic relationship (nothing compared to your 31 years) but I just want to say I see you, and feel you! It took so much out of me. I'm starting to see what amazing future I have ahead of me, now that I dropped 200lbs of dead weight out my life. Cheers to us 🍻🥂❤😊

Morning Toni, In the AA community Auntie is a title of respect.... It is like saying yes ma'am. It is giving honor and /or respect.
@Star19297718 сағат бұрын
Right! I have older cousins who I call Aunt because you respect your elders and put a title on it. I feel as if a lot of Black American culture definitely gets misconstrued throughout the diaspora.

“Accept your destiny, because the Universe has beautiful plans for you. Less stress and more joy.” Happy Saturday Toni, I think we all can truly say “ I wish I knew then what I know now.” You’re never too old to learn something new. It’s okay to do what you want to do in 2024!! I enjoyed listening to you talk. Always great conversation. Have a wonderful day and weekend.🙏🏽✌🏽💕

Love you Toni, great video!! ❤❤ Not following the order of societal norms is freedom. Also regarding auntie, the internet has a tendency of misrepresenting the Black American community, if you really go out in these streets and be around Black Americans all the time you will see that aunties are highly respected as well. We actually call our aunties a diff name…we call our aunties “TT”.
@ari_an_yah2 күн бұрын
Yeah, TT is what I call my Auntie's and I am 59 years old and I have never not respected them. TT is usually that one who has all the knowledge and confirms your suspicions as you grow up and into a full fledged woman.

Hi Tony, great to see you I’m still watching and supporting. ❤️💕 But I just wanted to say I’m not sure where you heard that auntie means something different in the African-American community in America. However, that is not true. Auntie means auntie, just what it is my aunt, but sometimes we use it for a term of endearment for someone else’s auntie. Sometimes we are aunt by blood and some time auntie by love

Aunty and Uncle is a sign of respect for black Americans, too. I believe some younger Gen X and older Millennials tend to take offense to the term for whatever reason.

I fully agree with you. Im a 59 yr old woman, who at 18 was in a very unhappy situation at home. I chose to marry my first boyfriend and ended up having 3 kids by the time i was 22yrs old .and In an an abusive marriage . At 18. it looked like my best choice. Now looking back. I could have made such different choices. If i had met my husband at 30 or 40. He would have never had a chance with me .
@heyhellohi_2 күн бұрын
“Auntie” doesn’t necessarily have a different connotation in the African American community, it’s just that several older millennials are super ageist/ant aging and absolutely hate the fact they’re getting older and separated more and more from younger generations so they rather be called “sis” instead of “auntie.”
@ari_an_yah2 күн бұрын
This is true and there are also those boomers who try and act all young and dress younger too. It's obvious each generation may have those tendencies to hold on to their youth through dress and language too. No mistaken it, we are all getting older even if we do protest, lol! But life and Yah(god) is good!
