I learn about more unique and interesting books from you then almost anywhere, thank you for this.

I have been wanting to pick up the Institute and the Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires.

I just finished Southern Book Club last night. It was just okay to me. I wanted more. I guess I saw more potential. Great reading month 👍🏼

Thank you! I hope you had a great reading month too. I'm hoping I can keep up my big reading streak this May. So far I'm off to a good start. I can understand that about The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. Have you read any other Grady Hendrix?
@bobbichamberlain7184 жыл бұрын
No this was my first. I enjoy horror/thriller so may check out more from him.

Awesome reading month! So many great books. I read and loved Revenge by Yoko Ogawa last year. Also Of Foster Homes and Flies! I’ve been meaning to check out Forgotten Island so maybe I’ll prioritize that next!

Thank you Alicia! If you end up reading The Forgotten Island let me know what you think about it.

That's a great idea John! I have some ideas for it so be on the lookout for a video sometime soon.

If you're down, I would love to hear your review of I'm Thinking of Ending Things. It was, to my mind, one of the most unsettling, scariest books I've ever read and the closest I've seen someone come to capturing the *just* off atmosphere of David Lynch in book form.
@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
I am definitely planning on reviewing it so stay tuned for a review very soon! Funny that you mentioned David Lynch, because I also got a similar vibe. It's definitely unsettling and eerie book.

You've read a lot. I only read six books in April. I read mostly horror and thriller but earlier this week I finished My life as a rat by Joyce Carol Oates. I loved it. I think maybe you will like it. It's not horror but the novel is pretty dark.
@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the recommendation! I just checked it out and it sounds really interesting and dark so I'm adding it to my tbr. Just found a copy that's super cheap so I went ahead and ordered it :)

@@taylortalkstales8106 I'm excited to know what you think. I don't read alot of novels but I loved it because it was so dark and had a lot of interesting characters. Enjoy =) .

I finished reading The Nightmare Room by Chris Sorensen and The House Next Door by Darcy Coates. Good stories.

I've read a couple of Darcy Coates books but haven't The House Next Door yet, and I've had The Nightmare Room on my tbr for a while now. I'll have to check them out!

Hi 👋 I finally got my Cthulhu books. Between work and driving from bremerton to everett and back every weekend, starting reading them has been difficult. Hopefully soon though!
@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you got them! Sorry to hear that you've had a long commute and it's taking up your time. Do you listen to audiobooks at all? I typically don't although I sometimes do if I'm doing a lot of driving. Hopefully you can get some reading done soon.
@Tulwean4 жыл бұрын
@@taylortalkstales8106 I usually listen to audio books when I'm driving. I still prefer a hard copy though. I'm making the drive to help a music venue with their live streams so they can get a little extra money to cover their bills. Totally worth it. Oh, I sent you another email.

I wish I had a successful reading month XD I haven't seen a 4 or 5 star book in so long and I miss them so much!
@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
Awww, I'm sorry to hear that :(. I've had months like that before where it seems like I keep reading only 1 or 2 star books. Don't let it get you into a reading slump! Hopefully May is better for you.
