Have you ever thought of mounting a brake for your back tire somewhere on the back-right side of the frame? So that you could step on it. Wouldn't be too different from stepping on the tire. Maybe wrap a lot of tape around the handle to make it bigger. I'd go crazy not having brakes lol.
