hi I live in portugal close to Lisbon and have to say 4€ for a beer is expensive for portuguese standards, at a cafe out of the city centers or at some parties (like uni parties) we get a "mini" for 1€ or a large cup for like 2,5€ also my haircuts I usually go for a barber shop that does 14,50€ so you can defenetly get them cheaper but that requires either luck or going out of your way to find the places

I lived in Miramar just south of Porto for ten years. Prices have risen but if you live here you get to know where to go, you can eat very cheap at lunch time in family run restaurants with good wholesome food. Traveling to nearby places such as Braga or Averio is very inexpensive by train, also if you ate 60+ it is half price, be sure to have photo identity if wanting a discount. Beautiful city, lovely people ❤️

I live in the north of England. Apart from the port wine and the public transport I thought the prices you paid were surprisingly high. Even the beer seemed to be as expensive or even more expensive than it is here. The food you bought in cafes and restaurants seemed particularly expensive. A speciality sandwich and a coffee for €15?

Overall you did well. I’m sure your circumstances were difficult due to Covid. Without the pandemic I would spend much less on accommodations and much more on eating out, entrance fees to sites, etc. I just subscribed. I heard Albania is beautiful and very well priced. Look forward to checking out those videos

We went to Lisbon last October and loved it. Made a few videos about what we could see over a week and we barely accomplished the minimum (so much to see). Living in Porto for the length of time you did must have given you a good perspective as a foreigner. We want to go there soon for our next trip. Great video!

That monthly cost sounds pretty good actually. Too bad the walls of your apartment are so thin(!) We are thinking of retiring in the south where from what I understand, is a bit less expensive generally. We'll need two beds and two baths though, but it sounds like two of us could do it on a budget of 3k US. Great video. Thanks for sharing!

If I can afford the monthly rent, I would love to stay a month and travel all of Portugal. I might stay somewhere in the middle of the country, and travel north or south, depending on the area I visit first. Guessing the terrain is very different as you travel south, and more city like up north.

Nice video, because your delivery is very clear and interesting to watch, plus decent editing too. well done. I think you could have done better on accommodation costs in Porto, but people have to understand that Porto is one of the most expensive parts of Portugal, almost all of Portugal, outside of areas like Porto, Lisbon, Estroil, are much cheaper, certainly significantly cheaper than the UK and Ireland. In addition, don't be worrying yourself about Covid, anybody your age with a normal immune system is very capable of overcoming it naturally. There is a lot of misinformation and overreaction going on, in time it will become clear to everybody that natural herd immunity was the best option for a virus that over 99.99% can overcome naturally. I am not remotely a fan of EUA untested vaccines, however, everybody has to do the research and make up their own mind on that count. I strongly recommend that people first look at the official Government controlled databases for vaccine adverse affects, EU-EMA, UK-yellocard and US-VAERS. Meanwhile, I suggest you keep your vitamin D and C/zinc levels strong and you will be in tip top shape for your adventures as a Digital Nomad. Good Luck.
