I can't just see this without dropping a comment. I loved this so much. I live in DC and is just so nice seeing a sister do such. We just hustle out here and some don't have time to take a tour around town. I spend my summer off hours at that swimming pool at Washington plaza. Much love ❤️

Karibu Trudy! You really need a local to take you around, and show you how to get the best deals and meals. In general, American hotels don't have very good breakfast offerings however, a number of the Hyatt hotels in DC offer free all-you-can-eat breakfast buffets.

Trudy, tips are optional but appreciated when given. It is not a must to give tips when you don't want to. TBH, these tip things in the U.S. have been getting out of hand lately. Nobody should be compensated for their good service because doing so comes with that job. Universally, people must be professional when serving people. Giving tips can be uncomfortable for some people because they may not always have the money. For example, I give tips when I want to or when I feel the service is superb. Also, I don't always have money to give too, and that is okay. For example, in other countries, there is no such thing as tips. People only perform those good services because it's customary.

Habari yako? I would have definitely taken you around had I seen this. We have a couple of Kenyan and Ghanaian restaurants here. Swahili Village is a favorite. Frankly, just about any other cuisine you would want is here. The National Museum of African American History is nice. And yes, we have quite a few Kenyans here. Every year the Smithsonian chooses countries to focus on for its folklife festival and the year Kenya was the focus it was amazing! We had a time! For Tyson’s Corner that is definitely a little shopping. The big name stores are across from the mall you were in.

You have to buy the iPhone online and make sure it's unlocked otherwise you can't use it in Ghana. AT&T did not sell it to you because its all locked phone and you have to have their service. But you can buy it online unlocked.
