Thank you so much for sharing such a personal topic with us, Aja. You being so open about your financial journey has helped me tremendously with my anxiety with money, debt and budgeting. Keep your head up and focus on that end goal where you’re debt free. I can’t wait to celebrate with you! I can feel the happy tears rolling in already :)

I've never been to LA, but I've always been baffled by the fact that one of the major cities in the world doesn't have decent public transportation...that would not only help save some money, but would also be much faster
@tangerine_moon6 жыл бұрын
Also one of the most-visited places by tourists! When I went there, had to use Lyft most of the time, and dang it was $$$$.

That is most of America. Compared to Europe and Asia, America's public Transportation is a joke. Tokyo - Hiroshima and back in 1 day is amazing. 8 hour trip.
@GSFL15 жыл бұрын
La does have some public transport in downtown LA there are subways that go to some parts of hollywood & out to the beach & suburbs, they are getting better slowly, they just are pretty dirty & not always safe for women, especially at night!

Urban sprawl will do that.

I never thought about getting tampons again after switching to cups last year, but the situation you mentioned actually happened to me. A friend stayed with me and got her period in the middle of the night, we had to drove to the closest pharmacy cuz I had nothing to offer her.

I love your budget vids! They inspire me to stay on track with my budget. :) Random tip I use for chopping onions: light a candle a couple of minutes before you chop. The vapors from the candle will absorb the vapors from the onion so you won't tear up. Kinda weird, but I swear it works!

DIVE CUP IS THE BOMB. I've been using it for like 4 or 5 years now. If your period is med - to heavy when you start, you'll find into your second year, your period gets super light. I honestly believe it is because you are no longer using pad or tampons that have chemicals in them. Those chemicals affect your period. If your not sure if the cup fits well, there are tons of other cups to try that might be a better fit. Lune or Lunettte are popular as well. MeLuna is also good.

My dog Luke (the bigger one) almost died and had to have emergency surgery and spend two days in the ER. I saw a lot of families have to put their dogs down while I was there because they couldn't afford their care. Luke's stay cost $5000. I didn't have that money but my boyfriend did so we were able to take care of him. I never wanted to be put in the position again. It was literally a life or death moment.

You do not have to excuse, spending that money on dog food. I totally get why you doing that. The health of a family member is very important and there is very bad dog food in the US that can seriously harm your dog. My small dog is highly allergic and I spend € 75,- (~ $90 ) on her dog food. For my food I spend €140,- (~ $165) each month. My friends think I am crazy. 😂
@AjaDang6 жыл бұрын
it's cheaper to buy expensive dog food than to spend money on medical treatments...
@vickywang16126 жыл бұрын
I think she meant that you do not have to justify to people why you spent the amount you do on dog food. Because she is the same as you in that she believes in spending the money to keep your dogs healthy.

$95.40 on taxis in one week seems like an awful lot for one person who's budgeting, surely? Seeing as you split the rent, isn't it smarter to split the dog food and groceries cost between you too, for example (at least for the purposes of the video)?
@betttzy20116 жыл бұрын
I believe it was $95.40 not specifically just on "taxis", but on all her transportation. Including parking, I'd assume gas and lyfts, I'd say it's not terrible with how busy she was! And from what I remember they take turns buying groceries and dog food, so it is essentially split :)
@Eliszzyy6 жыл бұрын
Getting around in a big city is often cheaper to do it you lyft, and less of a hassle as well as parking can be difficult to find/ expensive.
@MrsHi12066 жыл бұрын
I mean what was the alternative? She had so many events to go to as she said, and had to get around somehow 🤷🏻♀️

Well seeing as she basically runs her own business and going to different events is part of her "job", the cost of taxi is just a cost that comes with her job?

She's so fortunate, being able to budget to pay off 150k in debt, while living in a 3k apartment and getting meal subscription boxes, and 'cryotherapy'. Makes we wonder how someone making $1200 a month is supposed to make any headway on their debt.

Okay so not including rent you spent a over a grand in one week.... Its crazy that you act as if you are money savvy when in all honesty you just make bank. I would never be able to spend like this and pay off my debt. I doubt the majority of people in our country would be able to. I was really excited to learn something from you, but it seems like the only thing you have to teach the average person is to become a social media influencer and make a shit ton of money.

I'm really glad I found this comment because I've watched her vids on and off for awhile now and it blows my mind how everyone is always praising her for being money savvy but she really isn't...her vids teach me nothing about budgeting as an average person working a normal job.
