Asuka is also my favourite character and it's all because of Jun lol. Loved the original Jun from Tekken 2 and loved Asuka when she released (obvious given she was Jun's replacement/clone character) Was really hyped to see Jun come back but can't say I enjoy what they did to her. Wish they'd get rid of all the projectile nonsense and go back to her original self. Asuka going more in the direction of a street brawler kind of person rather than remaining a copy of Jun fits her well so I'm not too mad about her development.

He is also a new character that was introduced in T7, and despite having a low pick rate he still made it to T8. Just proves that Bandai is pushing for representation for each country/ethnicity. It's not a bad thing that he's not played much & people don't like him. But I guess he fills in the same niche as Claudio for example in terms of play style and pick rate (correct me if I'm wrong)

You can't say Alisa is too anime and cringy and not say the same thing about Lars. Lars is by far the worst male character design by far. I seriously don't understand how people like or even tolerate him. I look at him and physically cringe every time, lol. The only time i can tolerate looking at him is with customizations. I also agree with you about Kaz and Brian. I like them both, but I absolutely hate their player base. Mostly a bunch of insecure, toxic people with a heightened sense of ego and entitlement. Most of my hate mail has been from mostly King, Kaz, Hwo, and Brian players throughout t7 and 8. I have messages turned off now, which sucks. I've met cool people, but the hate outweighs positive, unfortunately.

I think I can answer the question as to why Steve is British. Tekken is pretty big representation, and Ireland being only 5 million people and having two of the most popular characters in the game in the form of Nina and Anna, adding yet a third character with Irish citizenship, and not having added a British/English character wouldn’t have went so well with the fanbase. Especially the English fanbase. But yeah, it’s really stupid that he’s British and not Irish. Meanwhile, still hoping somehow they give Nina and Anna Irish accents and sneak that into the story , though that will never happen probably.

Totally agree with what you say about Tekken female characters being generic, except for Reina. I actually find all Tekken characters to be very bland and generic compared to what Capcom does. They are not very fleshed out and some like Asuka are entirely left out of development except for her moves which are cool. Tekken is a fun game that I ignored for years only because of its character design. It's a pity. I still don't see what Lars and Lee should represent with those corny armors. Character names are also unimaginative and way too similar to be charming: Jin, Jun, Lee, Leo, Law, Lars, Lei, Lili, Bryan, Bruce, Michelle, Miguel....Come on.... I hope that will improve from now onwards and that Reina wasn't just a happy accident.
