Great channel and very informative videos, subbed. Thank you for sharing. I’m currently studying for my Class A CDL permit and looking to get my own CDL hotshot rig soon. This gave me a very good idea of what I will need and cost for load securement. Keep recording and sharing brother. God bless, stay safe on the road.

Greatly appreciated! I have all my equipment needed to get started! I really like this chain binders
@Mr.AlexKogan6 ай бұрын
The binders are really nice. Worth the extra money.
@jeremytarter6 ай бұрын
The other end of your ratchet bar isn’t for binders. You stick it in the rolling end on the winch, stick the pin in & use it like a ratchet. Keeps you from having to keep taking your ratchet bar out as you tighten down.

I’m actually surprised at how little these items cost. Yes all together it adds up but for what you have and the quality I think that’s good. Look forward to watching more videos

Yes. The prices do add up but they are not super expensive per each item. Thank you!👍🏻

Hey Alex. I was wondering if I would be able to pay you for a ride along for a week or a day. Have been wanting to get into this for a while & my only concern is regulations, paperwork and weigh stations. Thanks
@Mr.AlexKogan6 ай бұрын
Unfortunately that wouldn’t be possible. I park at truck stops and there wouldn’t be room for two people to sleep.
@martingomez26116 ай бұрын
What’s up Alex hey man later on when you get a chance how about you show your truck set up. Like what all you carry with you. Do you also have an external diesel tank? You know things like that. Thanks man. Appreciate your videos. Keep em coming!

Great content Alex. I am starting for a company in about 3 weeks. I bought everything I think I need and some but have been watching your videos from the beginning and watching this video I'll be paring down some of what I bring. Do you primarily stay in truck stops or do you consider rest areas too. Do you stop at all weigh stations or take a different route to avoid the hassle. What GPS programs do you use or is it standard google maps. Thanks for all of your help through your videos.
@Mr.AlexKogan6 ай бұрын
Thank you my friend! 🙂 99 percent of the time ai stay at truck stops. I have stayed at service plazas on toll roads before but most of them don’t have showers so I prefer truck stops. For weight stations I use an app called Drivewyze. It tells me when to pull in and bypass a weigh station. No reason to go around weigh stations if you’re doing everything the legal way 👍🏻 For maps I mainly use Google maps but I also have trucker path app which is paid service and sometimes use that map.

hey Alex, I really like your videos and I wish you all the best. Can you please make a video about CDL? because it is so confusing with all the rating and stuff for truck and trailer. my question is, when do you need a CDL?
@Mr.AlexKogan6 ай бұрын
Thank you! You need a CDL if the combined weight of your truck plus trailer plus the full load on your trailer is over 26,000 lb.

Alex if you had to guess what is your average weekly miles and gross?

Did you undo your winch straps just for this video? You go all out. I'd like to see a video if your entertainment on the road! Besides the gym you gotta have something that keeps u busy. Think that would be be a hit! Alot of guys wanna know how others stay entertained on the road! Of curse i think the hest video you could make would be my most hetic or scary situation doing hotshot! I think that would be a heavy hitter!
@Mr.AlexKogan6 ай бұрын
No. I don’t keep my straps on my winches. I keep them in my tool box. 👍🏻

Awesome thanks Alex for doing this video I was gonna ask you if you could give us an update on all the equipment sources what last would you like what you don’t like thank you so much man Christmas present right to all of us. Thanks again also on that diesel heater, are you running that thing off of the truck battery? I forgot if that’s how you had it set up because it didn’t pull that many wattswas just wondering how that’s working out
@Mr.AlexKogan6 ай бұрын
Hey, thank you! I actually just got in the road so today will be the first day that I’ll try the heater out. It is wired to the truck batteries. I’ll do an update once I get to try it for a few days 👍🏻
@Mr.AlexKogan6 ай бұрын
@GalaxyShotShot I would be very interested to hear your reason on that.
@Mr.AlexKogan6 ай бұрын
@GalaxyShotShot It will kill your battery if you go electric, that’s number one. It will not heat as well, that’s number two, with electric you have no thermostat which you can’t control your temperature, that’s number three and obviously you have no idea how little diesel the diesel heater consumes. I have a 2 galling fuel tank for the diesel heater and I am able to get almost a full week of heating on that. Depending how cold it is outside.
@Mr.AlexKogan6 ай бұрын
@GalaxyShotShot well I don’t see Tesla batteries in Ram trucks. Do you? If your electric heater actually works and heats then it will for sure drain you dead.

Hey Alex I love the videos, quick question if I could get some feed back I’d much appreciate it. I own my hotshot equipment and truck, I’m a local delivery driver, 70k annual gross, home every night off on weekends. I’m desperately wanting to do hotshot in hopes to make well over 100k annually. My plan is to jump on board in March when things pick up. Could I make over 100k annually in this economy or should I keep the day job. Just your thoughts? Thank you.
@Mr.AlexKogan6 ай бұрын
Thank you! When you ask if you can make over $100k annually, do you mean gross before all expenses like truck and trailer payment , fuel and so on?
@s.s.sniper90776 ай бұрын
Yeah gross but preferably net. I don’t have truck or trailer payment.
@Mr.AlexKogan6 ай бұрын
@@s.s.sniper9077 can’t give you net numbers as they are different for everyone but gross before fuel deductions you’ll be way over $100k
