I really love Davey Pattison with Ronnie Montrose and Gamma. I recently came across a track called Fussing and Fighting by Sunday, an early Davey Pattison band, on a 'British heavy psych and hard rock' compilation titled I'm a Freak Baby Disc 2, and I keep playing the track. It dates from 1971 and I always like finding a great old song which passed me by at the time.

Some great stuff there as usual Phil. I have been listening to a lot of American rock bands from the 80's that i have discovered recently such as 707, Dakota, Le Roux, I- Ten and Streets which featured Billy Greer and Steve Walsh of Kansas fame. Nice you gave "Steel Wheels" a listen after a long time. It is a very underrated album! I immediately got into it when it came out. Billy Cobham's "A Funky ..." was my introduction to his catalog - a great record. Later I discovered "Spectrum" his debut with Tommy Bolin playing unbelievable stuff. Jan Akkerman and watching alot of drumming coaches on youtube break down Bill Ward's magic on many Sabbath tracks. That's me this week. quick question, Have you tried to contact Blackmore's management "Carole Stevens" (Candice Knight's Mom) in NY for an interview? That would be your one dream come true I know. Such a pleasant discussion of your current listening adventures. I love how you go back and time and think of all of the music you were listening to during a particular year (1975 = Sabotage, Come Taste The Band, etc.)....a great way to level set where your ears were at during that time in your life. ELO's Time! You sparked me to put this on the turntable and revisit this fantastic album. Such an underrated gem...I also enjoy Secret Messages which I think came after Time. It Seems like a lot of the great 70's bands were struggling to connect with their fan base during the early 80's, despite putting out great music during that time (Cheap Trick One on One, Kiss Creatures, Yes Drama, Alice Cooper Special Forces, Aerosmith Rock and a Hard Place). I really hope you are able to set up that interview with Warren Haynes. Having seen him since his early Allman Brothers days, his first solo album (Tales of Ordinary Madness), and then through the early years with the Mule, I have been a major fan. He's a bright, intelligent, down to earth, and thoughtful cat - I bet you two would hit it off tremendously. Personally I have been digging very much the Iommi Fused rerelease, Black Country Communion V, as well as Glen Hughes Resonate album.

This week I am indulging in my "Secret Vice" in music! More of a retro throwback to my childhood! I spent most of the week listening to bubblegum pop from children's tv shows of the 1970s. Music from the Wombles, Animal Quackers, The Banana Splits hour, The Bugaloos, Sesame Street and the like. Sometimes fun music like these records really helps you to be in a happy mood. Next week, I will be back listening to prog or speed metal. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@amarjitsinghdulay189028 күн бұрын
I like it. It's the sort of thing that I've done in he past. Where the music that I grew up listening to during my childhood and early teen years from TV programmes is part of my DNA. There is a warmth in regressing to that moment in time when things seemed a bit more innocent, fun and less complicated. And like you I jump back into my chosen path of my musical tastes of most rock, metal and prog from the late 60s to the present as a must as it is that what has shaped my life, musically that is.

I love the Dio, Gillian, Hughes & Martin Sabbath way more than the Ozzy years I know that's blasphemous to allot of Sabbath fans, but being a guitarist myself - I think those eras are way better musically for Tony Iommi then the earlier Sabbath with Ozzy
