Lyme disease and CVID (Common variable immunodifficny.) I haven't had to go through nearly the amount or things you have had to go through. I found you when I was looking for port information a couple of years ago, and I think you changed my life. All of you! I didn't end up with a port, but instead I ended up with a piccline, which was no fun, but having my fiance by my side and helping me through the tuff stuff, and reminding me to do things when I would forget due to the massive brain fog, it meant and still means the world to me. I did comment on another video and did mention that I didn't have C.F., but that I know a bit about what you are going through with being sick all of the time, and still having to deal with life, love, and remembering that I can't always do everything. I even had my fiance get upset with me because when I had the energy I would try to do everything...and be down for the count for 4 days - 2 weeks. I only had the piccline for about 7 and a half months, but I think it's about to come back because my immune system wants to be deviant, and not work. I have come to terms with this being ok, because of you Mary! Even though we don't have the same diagnosis, your videos mean the world to me and I watch them religiously. When you feel terrible, I usually do too, and when you are feeling better and have more energy, so do I. I know there is no correlation between the two, I just found it interesting! PM me if you are interested in being Pen-pals. I love writing with the pen and keeping the mail persons with jobs! I wouldn't even mind if you talk to texted yours, that is, if you even want to. Idk why but you talking about your port made me think of this. About a month ago my friend was is the hospital and I went to visit her. We were chatting and her IV machine starts beeping at us and the screen says partial occlusion. We don’t know what that means so she looks it up on her phone and it says “Collapse of an organ or artery” she freaks out, calls the nurse. Nurse fixes a kink in the tube and we all die laughing 😂

I had a 24 h holter and blood pressure monitoring done yesterday until this morning. When it came time to remove all the sticker electrodes from me, I sang: “I ain’t got no stickers on my chest, on my chest...” in honour of you, Mary. Now I can empathize a little bit more with you and other people who need to be hooked up to feeding tubes or IV’s. It was only 24 h and I was getting tired of it, so props to you!

When my gastroparesis is bad, showers make me vomit too. The heat drops my BP which makes me sick to my stomach. Showering definitely has to be carefully planned out

Hospital hang over is so true. We had a week of visits with tests on a nasty shadow on my liver thrown up by a CT scan . Its a simple broken blood vessel and not a tumour but the stress we went through and emotional rollacoster was off the scale so Im feeling your hospital hangover with you .

the sun is really lovely. I'm learning to live with, the uncertainty of doing things. Travel, that's hit or miss and long trips are a toss up. and probably gone. Volunteering, is beginning to go...I offered to do some volunteer work and couldn't do the days. I can still volunteer by doing THINGS, but what I need to learn is, how to have social interaction....and feel less lonely... when most people are so busy that their schedules are so "tight"? It's like not wanting to be a "bother" when being a "bother" is the only way to have social interaction....haven't figured that out.

That's one of the toughest part for me. Watching little by little people fading out of my life and adjusting to the things that I'm unable to do anymore. You try to make a plan and you can only cancel so many times before you realize certain people have stopped calling. It's a very lonely road.

I saw a standard poodle in Target today, assuming it was a service dog or one in training I didn’t make a big deal about it like I always do. I know you guys don’t often comment back maybe someone else can help me out. I glanced over again at the dog and he didn’t have a harness on just a bandanna on but I couldn’t see if it said anything on it. Do service dogs have to wear something identifying it as a service dog? Just wondering.

Has she done any aromatherapy in the shower such as shower steamers that might help her lungs? I have no idea what scents might help. I make them though and would be willing to send some free ones if she knows of anything or if she's up to trying and seeing if they help. Also have you been doing any chest pts?

I might be having to get a my very first IV port i never have had a IV port but I'm the last time I was admited to the hospital it took over 20 times to try to a IV and still no luck I ended up with a PICC so now my lung doctor, heart doctor and the hospital I was at says It might be time for me to get a IV port I'm a little scared is it hard to live a normal life with a Port just wondering

I feel like we're living parallel lives right now. Lol! I had a needle in my chest today (port blood draw), and will have one again Friday-Sunday for chemo. My bolus of the take-home portion of the chemo looks just like your bolus of antibiotics. I also get what I call "Mary Frey red." Lol! I know the feeling not being able to take a shower while accessed. Those 2 days I feel so grimy.

I loved showers, but now I take baths because the shower curtain traps the humidity. I do have the shower head on a wand and tubing that I can get down to me in the bath to help rinse my hair. 😀👋

Gotta love Zosyn it’s a life saver the other antibiotics to me make me sick 😷 as in nausea and diarrhea tmi but it all balances out Mary have you tried cbd oil with no thc it worked wonders for my nausea and anxiety depression it also helps with pain 🦋💜

Lupus Positive Life zosyn gave me a number of the “rare side effects” when I had to be on it for 10 days for sepsis. I felt awful!

Do you know where you'll be in the city? Charming neighborhoods: Jamaica Plain, Allston/Brighton, Chinatown, Roslindale (kind of a hike but close to the Arboretum), Central Square in Cambridge, Harvard Square in Cambridge, Davis Square in Cambridge, Inman Square in Cambridge, Coolidge Corner in Brookline. Go to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and the MFA. And if you can get away for the day, do not miss Salem and the Peabody Essex Museum! All reachable by public transportation. I miss it all terribly.

@@estelsil You can easily walk around there. You can visit the seals at the Aquarium and walk over to Downtown Crossing, which gets you all the trains you need. The red line will get you to all the Cambridge and Somerville hot spots. The orange line or the 39 bus takes you to Jamaica Plain. For food and culture, look at publications like Dig Boston, Improper Bostonian, Scout Cambridge, and Scout Somerville. Enjoy!
