Thanks for the update and encouragement Rhonda. I need to start grabbing my Bible, devotionals or other books instead of looking in the refrig, cabinets or scrolling! I’m a stress eater and work has me crazed at the moment.😮

@@adamsc327 yessss! I know for me it helps having things sitting out to grab my attention…at the same time, it bothers me to have excess sitting out grabbing my attention 🤣 But for now, whatever works is what makes that intention more important. At least if you’re truly about making the changes, ya know. I know for me, it’s really been helpful reminders that keep me stumbling forward 🤗 Praying for you and your work situation…this too shall pass 🙏🏼

@@tamiparrotta2649 thanks, Tami! It’s a process but encouraging to recognize the areas that seem to become so subtle you miss the cues. It’s like intentional living helps to drown out the noise 🥰 Thanks for watching!

Very encouraging! Please remind the body of Christ that this is not a biblical fast, in anyway, but rather disciplining your body to stay away from the things that are not helpful for your spirit, example, sugar, and social media

Hey Jennifer! Thanks for watching :) Actually, she does detail in the book a biblical approach. She suggests focusing on things in your life specifically in need of prayer, for yourself and for others, set those as your intentions during these 40 days, and then the removal of the sugar (if that's a struggle) or social media (if that's a struggle) it could be anything that draws you away from the spiritual discipline of intentional time in prayer. It doesn't necessarily have to be a "food fast", as much as an intentional time focused on God, when you are denying your flesh, spiritual discipline in action ;) Some folks may indulge in reading for hours, binging Netflix, crocheting, knitting...it can literally be anything (as my understanding goes) and the focus is to remove that obstacle and replace it with prayer, fasting from said indulgence, and focus on the Lord, while feeling the pangs of "wanting to do the other things"...I know for me, it's been processed foods, ease of snacks, extra coffee, mindless scrolling...so I have been more intentional about my Bible study, praying for my "specific prayer list" and really catching myself in the moment that I reach for it, and remind myself what intentions for praying I had set...if that makes sense :) Thanks so much for your thoughts, so encouraging!
