Personally, I'm rooting for Rook being the adopted child of solavellan, doing some parent trap shenanigans. Oh, also I'm p sure there was a choice board/sheet one of the developers showed (can't remember which) concerning the well of sorrows choice. It involved Solas controlling the well-drinker to kill Flemeth... Or something like that, but it was scrapped because it was a bit much for post-plot/game content. So, it's definitely something that was considered in the writing room at some point.

Ideally, we'll be given a wide range of options about dealing with Solas for both our Inquisitor and our Rook. That's what I am hoping for. Personally I have multiple Inquisitors and there is a range of feelings about him. I want to play them all. That ranges from hoping for happily ever after for my Solavellan to one of my Inquisitors killing him.

My Lavellan is 40-41 rn and she still loves him deeply if anything I want a primal heart wrenching moment where solas and lavellan meet and just cry seeing how much each other has changed yet they’re the same person

From everything that has been revealed so far, the devs speak in a way where they have considered every avenue about how to handle Solas, while the title change reflects the focus on Rook and the Companions, Solas is integral to the story, and to not follow up with his relationship with the Inquisitor, be it friend, foe or lover, would be a waste of a good story as well as a disservice to the characters and players. The inclusion of customizing the Inquisitor and World State in-game gives me a lot of hope that we Solamancers and even the Solas haters will, at the very least, get a cathartic conclusion.

I feel like the end of trespasser was very tragic and sad. Leaving such a key relationship out feel very strange to me. I really am curious to see what they will do in veilguard. But they cant just pretend like that romance never happend. That would piss me off so bad.

Dream scenario: Rook gets advised by Varric to track down the inquisitor, as they know Solas well. The inquisitor can then help influence Solas (like convincing him that the veil should not be taken down), and the efficiency of that depending on how strong the bond was between them. And hopefully an option for a happy ever after for a solevellan. Actual expectations? Eh, I don't know... I try not to expect anything. Cameos have been very lackluster in the past anyway.

I didn’t romance him but I wish we have the choice to go through with what he had planned. Ripping down the veil is the best thing for the world, sure some people will die but the veil isn’t natural and the world needs to go back to its natural state.

If they make a painting or something for Lavellan, I think it could be interesting to see it play into the Dreadwolf theme and have Lavellan represented as either another wolf (of alternate color) or perhaps another animal like a fox. I really liked your halla idea and I could totally see that being a good option :D

I never romanced Solas. He was my dear friend. I do think that the main choices we made in inquisition, that we input at the start of Veilguard, will suffice in making our inquisitor feel familiar.

I seriously doubt we'll be able to make choices from Inky's perspective during the actual gameplay but I think we might (hopefully) get to make some choices during cc, like what their thoughts are on Solas and so on. And depending on those choices the Inquisitor will act a bit differently. I think that would be a good compromise.

Even if I can make a decision for my Inquisitor at the beginning, that doesn't mean I won't change it during the game. It could be that the actions of Solas in DAV would make me say, I'll kill you for the good of all. Or I don't want to be with you anymore. But then that would no longer be possible, because I've already decided how I feel about Solas at the start of the game. Maybe one possibility would be that you could play the Inquisitor yourself at some point in the story...

That would be some drama for sure 😂 But it is implied they never slept together, which makes the story even more tragic to me.

@Cassidei wait, really? I always thought they did, but off camera (which I did think was a mad choice for a bioware game). It's been a while since I played it, but doesn't he say somthing in the dlc like, "I never would of laid with you If... something something " lol

@@AzuraBlackHeart Yeah! There is a dialogue in Trespasser that goes like this: Solas: What is the old Dalish curse? May the Dreadwolf take you? Lavellan: And so he did Solas: I did not. I would not lay with you under false pretenses.

@@CassideiI’ve seen discussions where people say they think it was kinda intentionally left up to interpretation. I always interpreted that as him saying that he wasn’t sleeping with her out of manipulation or trickery, such as the Dread Wolf of the stories might, but out of genuine love and connection. Maybe that’s just my drama yearning, romantic heart 😭

I'm pretty sure BioWare will not make the same choices I would. My Lavellan loves him, but she'll stop him regardless. I hope they won't make it a case of either "Love and unconditional acceptance" or "Die, I hate you" kind of choices. However, they failed to offer me a satisfying choice with Anders (I wanted to spare his life, have him help me fight and then tell him to leave and make sure I never see him again, because he screwed up my plans and endangered my sister), so I don't expect a satisfying choice for a third party Lavellan

What if a romanced Lavellan who drank from the well, become Immortal like Flemmeth by absorbing whatever was put in that eluvian in the mid credits? Then, 2 endings could happen where the evanuris are defeated and Solavellan stand together as the new "elvhen gods". Or the Evanuris defeated, Lavellan becomes Immortal and either the veil is taken down or restored, Solas condemns himself to the Fade as repentance and Lavellan stays with him. What do y'all think?

I want the bad ending (if solas goes through with tearing down the veil) to be Lavellan having a tragic death. I want all the angst. Fall down a cliff kinda death idk cause of her guilt of failing But I also want a dream sequence since it’s stated that he watches her afar from her dreams and they have that connection. It should be a glance at what life could’ve been like if he decided to abandon his plans for her. Like that scene in Bojack Horseman where he dreamt about living on a ranch happily married with a kid. I want that kinda scenario. And it to end with Lavellan saying something similar about “how happy they could’ve been if he chose this life” cuts to her bleeding out next to him in the dream and SHE snaps him awake 🙏🔥

I heard something about a secret companion and as we have been told, all companions are a romance option. What if people who didn't romance solas or romanced him and broke up with him get the chance to romance him this time around? It's just a thought because we were told that Solas and rook will form a relationship with one another

Me, a tragedy enjoyer, kinda want either A) Lavellan to die to save Solas in a spur of a moment decision ( a la jumping in front of a bullet) or B) lavellan to be dying because of the anchors effects and dies in his arms so we can get a big angsty Solas reaction.

What I want is the Elven Gods that Escape the Veil I want one of them to posses the body of the Inquisitor and depending on whether the inquisitor Romanced Solas or not will decide which one possess the inquisitor essentially holding them captive to keep Solas away from them or using them to further their goal to strike down Solas.

If you have a video on this, I apologize for my ignorance--I've only just found your channel. But have you put into words what about the character of Solas appeals to you? I've struggled to understand the appeal, but I very much want to. I suspect seeing him as an elvhen inquisitor is crucial to understanding, but my interactions with Solas through all other playthroughs never gave me the encouragement to devote a run of that monumental game to seeing the romance. Either way, I hope DAVG gives you everything you want with Solas, and I mean no ill will in any way. Just a genuine curiosity. Thanks!

Hey! Thanks for checking out my videos! I haven't talked about that yet. I have always been someone who has loved elves, so Solas' character appealed to me off the bat. But as for a deeper appeal? I could list lots of things, but to keep it short I would say that he is incredibly charming in a romantic context, and his romance honestly makes me feel so much more important to the story, because of how important Lavellan is to him. I think to truly understand you need to play it yourself. Thanks for asking me : )

I always felt like solas is so against inquisitor drinking from the well because it has information that he doesn't want them to have.

As you will see, I'm not a Solas fan. Let's see. If Lavellin drank from the well, and Solas took part of Mythal's essence into him (from the last scene in Inquisition), then Solas can control Lavellin. Also, if Solas is one of those powerful ancient Elven sorcerers. doesn't that make him the one Evanuris that got away. Like the others, he probably doesn't consider himself to be evil, but he actually contributed more death and subjugation to the Elven people than any of the others. Actually, since Solas and Rook are supposedly connected, if I have to spend the game pandering to Solas, then ...

I don't see a happy ending for them and I'm fine with it. Give me that delicious trade mark Sollavelan tragedy they known and loved for 😈 More drama for gods of drama! Also, I really hope Inky is not Hawke type cameo NPC, but huge prominent part of the narrative, preferably second protagonist, like Ellie to Joel in TLAOU. Otherwise it would be such a wasted opportunity. Even without romance every Inquisitor have complicated unresolved relationship with Solas, it's a crime to leave it unexplored.
