I absolutely love that the concept trailer was created by the same people who worked on the animated movie, which means if they do a remake, it should be good. The key to a good remake is knowing what would and wouldn't work in live action. For example, Briget the Hag and the animals wouldn't work as you said. Slap stick comedy can work in live action but within the context of Swan Princess no it would not work. Odile would be great in Live Action because I have a thing for female villains or anti-heroes whatever it is she will be here if there is a live actions remake. As for the scenery of the movie I don't want a dull color pallet because ooh lord I am tired of those. Not everything needs to be grim and dark looking, yes that work for certain scenes but also don't make it overly bright and colorful. Since it is live-action I want Odette to have a wide range of dresses because after all she is a princess but she will be stuck some place for a year so that is a bit unreasonable. If they do have Odette become a permanent Swan and she loses her human mind and she also ends up dying I think it should look similar to that guy from Brave who was turned into bear. As in his human form comes up. The costuming as you mentioned should be done by Designer Daddy. I don't want another live action Belle dress situation. The hair styles matter and please PLEASE don't give Derek that hair cut he has in the movie. The hair cut is better suited for a woman. I agree with you on the songs. I also wonder if Odile and Odette would have a battle in their Swan form. For the feminism, I don't want them to just put a Sword in Odette's hand have her fight because for some reason that seems to be movie's only way for women to be strong. However, having traits like Cinderella and Odette as in kind, caring and smart women who don't resort to violence are just as strong of qualities. I also feel like the live action would add something to the characters that the cartoons wouldn't be able to. The part where you mention Derek sensing whether or not he is dancing with Odette or Odile reminds me of how Prince Kit could tell Cinderella wasn't Cinderella by the way be grabbed her hand. So I love that idea. Also Derek needs more outfits and hair styles and maybe give him the hair cut he has when he is going through his awkward phase as opposed to making keep the hair the whole entire movie. I apologize for this comment being all over the place but it's my opinion and great video as always.

I've wondered so much about Odile and she indeed belongs to my favorite ballet characters. There are also some retellings featuring her as lead character. I've been taking looks at the 19th century ballet tradition and so I know that in Odile as well as in Rothbart are two traditions mixed together, and the Swan Princess only makes use of one. There's on the one hand the "demonic exchange bride", who would reveal her real self in the ending, on the other hand, the spouse rival with her father, who tries to get rid of the heroine. And Rothbart is also the type of "demonic rejected lover", which is used in the Swan Princess. Which is most fascinating for me, that Odile actually doesn't reveal another shape in the ballet. It rather seems to me that she is probably meant to be a doppelganger, looking indeed similar like Odette. The closest hint is that Odile's name is so similar to Odette's one. It can't be only by chance. Perhaps this is also the key to Odette's transformation - did Rothbart want to have Odette as a kind of stepmother for Odile? I could also imagine that Odile is rather young and close in age to Odette. Even more easy to manipulate. And why shouldn't Odile not be interested in the prince on her own? I really wish to explore this in retellings...

oh my goodness. i love the idea of her becoming a proper swan without her human mind! right now im trying to work on a the swan princess broadway musical (by writing newer songs and changing the source material to fit the stage) and i think thats such a great idea! i hope you dont mind if i use it!

I’d like to tell you my casting choices for this remake if that’s okay with you. These are not exactly people I think they should choose or want them to, but people who I think would at least make good choices. If they don’t choose them, I won’t really mind, since this is a fan cast after all. Reese Witherspoon as Odette Harry Styles as Derek Bobby Cannavale as Rothbart John Cleese as Jean-Bob Jason Bateman as Speed Taron Egerton as Puffin Cate Blanchett as Queen Ubertha Ty Burrell as Rogers Josh Gad as Chamberlain Jack Black as Bromley Jenny Slate as Bridget What would you think if they added new characters to the movie? Two new characters in my head are another pair of birds who travel alongside Puffin.
