The thing about the last 45 minutes of Everything Everywhere All At Once for me is that the “humorous” moments don’t land as humor to me. By that point, I’m so invested in the movie and its characters that the moments land genuinely. SPOILERS AHEAD: When the hibachi cook is crying about losing his companion, I’m not laughing but crying with him. When Evelyn and Deidre reconcile in the hot dog universe and do their dance, I find that it means so much to me because of what Evelyn is doing for her across every universe: showing her that she can be loved. All those little moments that people around me have laughed at, I have cried cathartic tears at because the Daniels all relate it back to the central message of the film: that nothing matters, and there is always something to love, so be kind. That’s just my two cents on why I think Everything Everywhere has become my favorite movie of all time.

The second half, and especially the overall finale of EEAAO is some of the most awe inspiring and emotionally resonant filmmaking I've ever seen. It's a real shame that even after a second watch it didn't seem to click with you. Personally I don't think I'll see a more captivating and powerful film for the rest of the year.

I really regret watching Normal People few months ago when I should've watched it when it first came out, when everyone was talking about it (kinda sad how when I watch it now the hype was already down lol) but hey it's better late than never. And I agree, Normal People is basically how everything I wanted to be for a teen romance series and I love every single minute of it. One of my favourite miniseries of all time. Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal's chemistry is flawless, just wait till they both became Hollywood's next big superstar in the future because both are so talented

@@nutellaJar the things is, when my friends told me to watch a certain TV show, after the dissapointing GOT season 8, I turned off their advice because I'm just so afraid that I got invested with a show, love it so much then either gets cancelled or ends poorly and I felt like I wasted my time. And sometimes it happens to me, sometimes it took me months to move on from a show that ends extremely poorly. Which is why I rarely watch TV shows and just go for movies instead because it managed to complete a story in 2 hours. Or even a miniseries that can took me atleast a day to binge all. Granted my country doesn't have Hulu so it make sense why I wasn't aware that Normal People came out in 2020 but yeah, that was the main reason why I rarely watch TV anymore

I would personally suggest a Korean tv series called “alchemy of souls”. It’s a high fantasy historical drama that is 20 episodes long, that is soon to have a part 2 coming out in December. It’s genuinely such a unique concept as it’s set in the past but has modern day features such as hairstyles and makeup/cosmetics but also magic/sorcery. The villain is genuinely so despicable yet has depth, the chemistry is palpable, the characters are well written and the cinematography (for a tv series) is amazing. It’s also well paced and it genuinely deserves way more hype! The fight scenes are also so well executed and tense.

1:09 Nice, I liked Blue Collar a lot. Its kinda sad how much of it is still true. You're right about the cynicism, its probably the most cynical movie I've ever seen. 6:10 I need to rewatch The Host because the first time I saw it I thought it was just ok

I watched: Troy 5/5 A Cabin in the Woods 1.5/5 (Not nearly as good as I was expecting it to be.) Prey 4.5/5 (As someone who also hasn't seen any Predator movies, I enjoyed its respect for its characters and my time. Plus, I really like sci-fi.) They/Them 2/5 (Pretty funny; also the most predictable thing I've seen, maybe ever.) Waterworld 4.5/5 (The set/prop design is immaculate. The CGI, excusable. The rampant misogyny, an unfortunate product of its time, I suppose.)
