Please do give Ghost in the Shell another watch or two!! It's one that takes a little time to digest , but its among my favorite films ever for a damn good reason, seminal piece of cyberpunk that actually manages to get the subgenre's themes down right without being shallow or derivative. And speaking of anime films I've been on a Satoshi Kon marathon this month, I watched Perfect Blue and Millennium Actress. Really think that if you can stomach how graphic Perfect Blue is then watching all of Satoshi Kon's work chronologically is a fantastic experience for seeing how his favored ideas and style evolved over his sadly short career

I wonder why he never just became a heretic instead of holding onto his beliefs which he knew were wrong. Inbetweeners series and the first movie - classic comedy on life as an A level student in the UK. Simpsons movie - loved it when it came out, should have been the finale of the Simpsons. The Lady of Heaven (not a rewatch) - Was getting banned by zealots in the UK so had to watch it. It's alright, but felt very preachy. Still shouldn't have been banned by people who got outraged but didn't even watch the film.

The cinematography of The Square is not that unique. That’s not a put-down. Rather I’m saying the quality of European dramas’ cinematography is, while plainer (seems less worked on and worked over) than that of comparable US films, it‘s often better for that. I think the movie is great, its protagonist is a decent man, portrayed with nuance.

Watch Polyester with the scratch and sniff card (was able to get some on eBay a few years ago for my mum's birthday) that should knock it up to the full 5/5, easy.

Recently just bought a signed (yes I’m bragging) copy of The criterion: Pink Flaming. The special features are so fucking good, and living in that area makes it so much better. Highly recommend Multiple Maniacs if anyone enjoyed Pink Flamingo.

This month I watched: Thor: love and thunder - 3/5. What can I say, the action scenes and the last act of this movie won me over. Ms. Marvel - 3.5/5. Started off great and it fizzled out as the series went on, which seems to be the standard for these MCU shows. Toy story 4 - 5/5. I love this movie. Woody's arc is great and it really resonates with me. Plus, the animation is gorgeous. La La Land - 5/5. Another amazing movie I and the pleasure of rewatching. Minions: rise of gru - 3/5. I had a blast watching this movie. Otto was kind of too stupid even for minion standards imo, but I still enjoyed the movie because the GOAT gang (Kevin, Bob, and Stuart) have a good bunch of screentime.
