Thank you for sharing this. I just watched the interview this past weekend because I came across a clip on TikTok, and I was a little surprised that you didn’t go into your faith and how God blessed you and your family. But over all I really liked the conversations you two had.

You are a passionate man! So interesting to listen to this today, really good to put business structure around this beast! Man it frustrating that a few un educated muppets can have such a voice, this industry and others, farming etc needs people like you mate End of the day people say what they do about Clinton Anderson, but behind all the swear words he is one heck of a businessman!!

Agree. Agree. And agree! Where do I start? The animal "rights" people are their own worst enemies, and the extremes of their vitriolic attacks are all the proof needed to illustrate the degree to which they are unhinged. Imagine if those of us who favor roundups for the humane benefit of mustangs wished horrid deaths on those who disagree with us for having a different, (and I'd say a more informed), perspective. While they point to the rare occasion of a mustang dying during a roundup, they somehow ignore the *tragedies avoided* by removing excess mustangs whose range includes highways. A family member who is a Fire Batt Chief within a Nevada HMA will never be able to unsee the result of a mustang struck on the road. Imagine being on a rescue crew struggling to extricate a deceased driver trapped beneath an eviscerated horse in a gory mess of wreckage. While that's a graphic example, the suffering of herds who have exceeded the carrying capacity of range land is horrible. The only reason the public isn't witnessing these kinds of disasters is thanks to the roundups they oppose. Horse slaughter: As a horse lover, I couldn't be more understanding of the sentiments that oppose it. The fact that I can care for and maintain the senior horses I'm attached to so they may eventually pass at home is a blessing I never take for granted. Like anyone and everyone, I wish every horse had this fortunate circumstance, but that's not the reality. When we had the opportunity to involve people like Professor Temple Grandin in designing facilities and regulating procedures to provide the most humane system possible right here in the U.S., we ditched our responsibility and acquiesced to short-sighted emotion. How is it better to crowd horses onto trucks for a journey to unregulated abattoirs in Mexico? As a horse lover, the stupidity of this makes my blood run cold. More thoughts, but I've already overshot the cut off for a TLDR comment. Summarily, I sincerely appreciate your discussions about these issues, Colton. 👍

I found your videos while watching something else. They are good and I agree with much of what you say. I just watched this one on Clinton Anderson.. I first got into natural horsemanship watching Pat Parelli and Clinton. I totally changed the way I had always done things, and things were better. However, I am older now and have a gelding that I don't trust. I've become fearful in the saddle for the first time in my life. I think applying some of what youve shown will help. This vid, in particular, acknowledged your faith in God. As a Christian it resonates with me. What I didn't like was your use of the F-bomb. It is just an useless word and shouldn't come out of the mouth of believers.

Did you let Clinton know you were going to create videos on criticizing his method, without actually naming him? I think you will do well by teaching what works for you, but not criticizing other natural horseman even if you disagree with their techniques

I'm not going to watch any interview with Clinton Anderson. If you didn't ask him, then I would have asked him why the cussing and sexual innuendo in his clinics? My girlfriend went to one of his clinics and he was talking about something happening in the ring that "gave him a hard-on". Really? She said there were two pre-teen girls in front of her that just looked at each other. I wouldn't associate myself with him, but you do you.

Thats your choice and I totally understand. I dont disagree that those things would be HIGHLY inappropriate yet trying to change people is a waste of time. Rather Clinton pretty dang transparent on who he is and if folks are not comfortable with how he conducts himself, best thing folks can do is not put themselves in clinics or scenarios where they'd be subjected to someone elses behavior. Many folks have expressed they'd leave my content because I had a conversation with someone they didnt like. I hate to see folks leave over a perspective so childish yet thats the world we live in. For anyone to say 'i wont support/learn from/etc from you because you had a conversation with someone I dont like' is damn childish and stupid. We can share different opinions on things such as horse training or values in training and still come together with someone to discuss important matters that need to be addressed. To those who decide to leave, I say adios.

@@Coltonwoodshorsemanship thanks for the reply. I would guess that a lot of people attending one of his clinics have no idea they are going to hear such profanity and filth. My girlfriend and her friend certainly did not. They'll never go back to one. Btw, your Never do these horrible natural horse exercises again. Is spot on. Subscribed.

I am happy you have a faith but an awful lot of us do not believe God gives us anything. We have choices to make within the confines of our situations. We do not choice who we are born to, where we are born, & that can affect our choices. Some people make better choices then others, some have better opportunities then others. If you honestly believe God gave you what you have rather then your own hard work, ask him why he thinks it ok to have such cruelty within the human race. Ask him why he thinks it ok for the human race to inflict such horrors on each other & other species. Why he has let the human race become so entitled. And the mention of horses numbers is down to the human race allowing so many horses to breed. The kill pens are full of horses suffering, full of horses that have been suffering before they even got there. Then the poor sods have the risk of being shipped 1000's of miles to end up being probably inhumanly slaughtered. Yep really love the sound of a God who does nothing to stop that s@it

I'm surprised you even wanted to sit down with him. Even way back 12yrs ago, I felt he was an expensive grifter of sorts. Yeah, he had some interesting ideas when he first started and such, but over the years it seems more about the $$$ and hype. Sheer ego. Many here are right; he's an astute business man. Knows how to get the almighty dollars. I used some of his methods years ago, but have since found easier, calmer ways to deal with issues in my horses. YOUR ideas are much more impressive. But honestly, all the 'God' talk is more of a turn off to me, than any of Clinton's cussing. 😄 At least you make good points, though.
