Even though I have read the Gospels a few times through, I still feel like a complete beginner, so I am just going to read them through first and hope the Holy Spirit helps me understand them. 😅❤️🤗👍 Thank you so much for your faith, Faith! It is such an inspiration to actually see people care about Him and what He said. So, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. I have no idea what the correct order is, but my favourite is definitely Luke, dunno why. 🤗👍

Faith, I know you have studied the Bible for years and that you are very knowledgeable. I was reading Mark when I realised that I was probably up to something: so Jesus prayed exactly THREE TIMES in the Garden of Gethsemane before being delivered, that the cock crew THREE TIMES after Peter's THIRD denial and that reminds me that Jesus asked Peter whether he loved Him THREE TIMES in a row after resurrection. My question is, why three times? Was the fact that Jesus prayed three times some sort of protective prayer because He KNEW Peter would stumble? Thank you so much for your videos! 🤗❤️🙏

Look up significant numbers in Judaism. Three symbolizes completeness. Regarding “do you love me,” use Bible Hub to read the text side by side in English and Greek or to look up the definition - the word used for love is different in the question and the response, which partly explains why Jesus asked the question three times. The Bible in a Year podcast and book also go into this topic.

I have a question. When you consult your commentaries are you reading the entire section that you are studying or just the phrases that stick out to you? My biggest struggle at times is getting bogged down reading from so many different commentaries on the same passage. I’m just curious as to how you approach this. Thanks and I enjoy your videos.

Hi Faith. I recently found your channel and have rally been blessed by it. I became a Christian in my late 20s, but have had some life struggles in my 30’s and 40’s. Loss of two pregnancies. Passing off my husband, a breast cancer diagnosis to name a few. These events caused me to lose sight of my Christian faith in some ways. Not that I ever stopped believing in God, but stepped away from going to church, reading my Bible and being angry with him. Long story short, I decided to really start studying the Bible. I am wondering if you would be able to do a video (maybe even with your husband) on explaining how the books of what we know to be the Bible were chosen? It is a topic that I have been interested in and I have done some research on my own, but I would definitely like to hear your views on it. Thank you so much for what you do. You were a big part of the reason why I am gravitating back to wanting to know and study the Bible. God bless you and your family.

I am wondering if you have considered a different view, one that desn't depend so much on the Bible? I have a book on Amazon intitled "His Call, Our Heart" It's about a relationship. I see the Christian religion as more of a direct relationship with God than one with the Bible, although it is obviouly important. To me, relationship is what separates Christianity from other religions that are practiced through the interpretation of a book. I would love to hear if that line of thinking was broached in seminary. Mark

I was raised by a Bible teacher who takes notes in his Bible so my perspective is that so long as it is advancing your relationship with the Word, go for it. I do have Bibles I don’t write in and only use as cross reference as well. I can understand the viewpoint of the Bible being holy and the verse about not adding to the word, but do not consider taking notes, writing prayers, creating visuals etc. that are me engaging with the Word and getting deeper to be “wrong.” Each must decide how they are called though.
