A couple of things I noticed: 1. After each hero is chosen by Uatu, and he says "you have been chosen", the scene cuts straight to another universe and another hero being chosen. With the exception of Killmonger's universe where we see Shuri break into an empty throne room AFTER Killmonger gets taken away. And since Uatu will eventually return every hero to the exact moment they were taken, thus not changing anything about their universe, this is actually a foreshadowing that Killmonger will be the only one that doesn't return to his own universe. 2. Zombie Wanda lets her guard down and deactivates her powers just a slight moment before Ultron decimates that universe. We hear a faint sound effect in the background, and my theory is that Ultron removes his helmet and Wanda recognises him as Vision, thus she looks shocked, loving even, and drops all her will to fight. @screencrush

Remember how last episode watcher said that the story of Ultron winning hurts him the most. It's because black widow really impacted him in this episode and he felt bad for her. This means watcher experiences everything at once, even Strange confronts watcher saying that he already knew how things were going to play out.

Strange supreme in this episode is probably one of the best way to convey a strong magic wielder in combat. He doesn't only attack but also buff other people's attack, he kept shielding the team with a warding glyph, he cancel/ counter the enemy's attacks and most importantly, he ends the fight with a (kinda) banishment spell. Truly a master of abjuration, conjuration and chronurgy. He is the Best Badass Character of What If Season 01. Strange Supreme's supporting literally carried the whole team 😂

Erik is a great character. Did he actually do something villainous here or did Strange just trap him in that crystal because he wanted to use the stones? Um...it seems like half the MCU has used a stone to accomplish a goal at some point. Strange had the time stone and ate a bunch of creatures souls. And...if Loki (of all people) can be redeemed, I don't see why Erik can't. Hope, yes; I hope Killmonger comes back. I thought this version was going to be a reboot for him. That was a missed chance.

The stones from when Tony snaps are stones from different timelines within one reality so that's why it works. Edit: As @Aaron Wesley says... The stones originate from the same universe that is why they work.

Not exactly, thge sacred timeline the TVA claims is stil the same multiverse the stones still come from alternate timelines, branches created by a change. Even though Steve "clips" them by returning the stones, those changes still exist much like these alternate realities. Especially without the TVA to prune them now. All the stones likely still work in the multiverse, they just have different frequencies or wavelengths. They're probably just negated where ever the TVA exists which is why the multiples from different timelines were useless there.

I loved seeing Dr. Strange go all out, but I'm rather disappointed how Ultron's power changed so drastically depending on who's fighting him. The worst example is Captain Carter and Black Widow hitting him with their shields, and saying "don't let him think". As if Ultron isn't an extremely powerful AI who needs time to think? Also, why would Black Window's throws do anything at all? It's just weird.

The shot of Steve in the Hydra Stomper sitting in a crate reminded me a lot of how the Winter Soldier in the hydra facility. With the greenish lighting reinforcing it. I think he got captured and turned into a version of the winter soldier.

I agree that Steve may have helped form SHIELD in this reality, again reversing roles with Peggy. Now the bigger question is: is that Steve in the Hydra Stomper armor, and if so, has he been in suspended animation part of the time, like Bucky was in the main timeline? This allows for a possible three-way switch: 1) Peggy took Steve's place as the WW2 super-soldier that was sent forward in time and eventually joined SHIELD, 2) Steve was instead left for dead after a battle and eventually turned into the Winter Soldier instead of Bucky so then, 3) Bucky survived WW2 intact and co-founded SHIELD with Dominic Cooper instead of Peggy. What do you think of that? :)

Is it just me, or was Uatu's choice of champions really bad? Doctor Stange carried the whole team so honestly it didn't matter that much who was chosen, but why choose party Thor as opposed to a stronger, more mature Thor? Why Captain Carter and Tchalla's Star Lord as opposed to stronger characters like Scarlett Witch or the Hulk or Captain Marvel or any number of other powerhouses? If the fate of the mulitverse was at stake, you'd think he would choose a stronger team to beat the guy who was literally able to cut Thanos with 5 stones in half with no effort

At the end of the episode, Dr. Strange confronts the Watcher about him already having seen the fight with Ultron and then Killmonger's turn and then Strange's "sacrifice", which I guess implies that the Watcher always knew what would happen so he probably just did what he was supposed to do - follow the script and gather these specific heroes. It's kinda reminiscent of Dr. Strange seeing the future in Infinity War, and also He Who Remains creating the TVA and maintaining the sacred timeline to bring Sylvie to him

Odin trapped a sentient Galactic Storm inside Mjolnir long before Thor was born. Odin couldn't control the hammer so he left it in the armory until someone could. It took centuries before the hammer itself deemed Thor Worthy and would allow him to lift it, which is why he used Jarnbjorn. This was long before Odin added his enchantment.

The one thing I'm really curious about is what happens to the "Avengers are dead" universe with Natasha added. The implications are potentially huge. This Black Widow is from Age of Ultron but she's being dropped into the Battle of New York. That means she has a LOT of future knowledge, most specifically Hydra's infiltration of SHIELD. With that warning, Hydra doesn't get the Mind Stone. Without the Mind Stone, no Scarlet Witch or Quicksilver... Furthermore, no Tony Stark (as well as a warning not to let anyone stick the Mind Stone into a robot) means no Ultron, thus no Sakovia, no Zemo, no Civil War (I mean, outside of most of the Avengers being dead). I honestly would really like to see what happens here, especially with Thanos still a future threat. I'd have to guess the Avengers end up as some combination of the three here, Dr. Strange, Black Panther... Maybe Ant-Man? (though who knows with Hank Pym being Yellow Jacket). Oh, and yeah, I noticed Loki having the scepter too. While I think this is likely just a plot hole, I suppose you could just say he still met up with Thanos at some point and got it the same way as before.

Yeah, I really hope they continue the stories of Episode 1, 2, and 3, because I think the MCU would change slightly with Steve Rogers as the Winter Soldier, T’Challa Star Lord would be cool because I want to know more about what The Collector did to the universe and then an MCU with Tony, Thor, Clint, and Bruce out of the picture sounds fascinating to me

Mjolnir is not just enchanted by Odin to not be wielded unless worthy to do so, but it is also stubborn in the fact that it will not move unless it wants to. Also, Peggy went for a ride on Mjolnir like Peter did in EndGame. She did not wield it.

Just a reminder about Peggy Carter hitching a lift on Mjolnir back to the ground - even if there was a worthiness clause on the hammer, it wouldn't matter. Quicksilver tried to grab a flying Mjolnir in Age of Ultron and got dragged along with it. This is Peggy using the same mechanic, just deliberately so.
