Not to the same degree, we're already getting hit by 100's daily, smaller ones that do impact. Since they're not actively made of nuclear materials, ie plutonium etc, they're safe. The little bit of exposure they get is harmless, by the time they burn off their outside. Coating them with a lot of plutonium is a different story.

That one didn't hit at all, it blew up several kilometers up in the air, and the location was lucky for population. A minute earlier and some European cities and kilometers around them wouldn't exist.
