As a Notre Dame WBB fan, I followed Caitlin's recruiting at Dowling Catholic for two years, and when she narrowed her choices to Iowa and Notre Dame in the fall of 2019 I was literally checking Twitter and the message boards every day LOL Have to admit I didn't know she would be this great, I was just impressed her how smooth she was with the ball and her passing ability. I was devastated when she picked Iowa (Even more so when I learned she was a silent ND commit) But I think it all worked out the better for Caitlin. She wanted to represent her state and Iowa was the perfect place for her game to grow the way it has. Maybe if she went to ND she would have won some championships maybe not. But i'm not sure she could have elevated the sport the way that she has at Iowa.

Notre Dame finished strong in these last few weeks of the regular season. Hopefully that carries over to the ACC tournament this week and for several rounds in the NCAA tournament as well. Unfortunately no Olivia Miles this year but Hannah Hidalgo has been so great in her freshman season and has carried this lack of depth team very well.

@@jdg48439Still pointless to try to compare: (1) Pete played three years; (2) no three-point line then and Pete took many shots of that length; (3) smaller women's ball goes in more easily; (4) how many shots taken is not relevant when comparing top scorers, since in that case someone who takes 2 shots per game might be the best scorer if only they took 40 per game instead lol. Caitlin is receiving her due, Pete is receiving his due, numerically she passed him, AND it's silly to compare them. All these things are true at the same time. @@Tony-jo9qr completely wrong! Clark is a much better scorer than the above mentioned. You cant compare them to her just because their white. They have different styles of play. Tbh the closest comparison in terms of style is steph curry but a womans version though she is a bit more selfless than curry and a little worse at off ball scoring ability than him. It's a small trade-off which makes sense considering the amount of assists clark averages. She has greater range and volume than ionescu as well as better off ball movement which closely mimics steph currys style of play. Her biggest weakness really is her defense. The best part though was that men’s basketball was failing in the 1980s but due to Bird and Majic coming in they saved men’s basketball and here we are talking about how Caitlin has the ability to save and revolution the game of women’s basketball and make it popular for the first time and do just as Bird and Majic did in the 1980s. The question that must be asked is, "What is the attraction? Caitlin Clark or women's college basketball?" The answer will only come next year when we see the attendance at Iowa games. We also have to recognize the impact of social media and the saturation coverage of Clark this season. When Bird and Magic finished their careers in the spring of 79, ESPN did not exist. I knew who Larry Bird was through the Sporting News and other publications. Living in Denver, I could not see him play before the regional final of the NCAA Tournament.

Ngl she got me watching these womens college games 😂. Its still an evolving game, but their games are pretty tough. Alot of real offense formations and motions, and surprisingly verryy physical defense lol. I also think the 1 and done aspect of mens CBB kind of ruins it for me. Alot of those guys are only there to get to the nba and are only worried about their draft stock. The women are required to play 3-4 years in college so it creates for some rivalries, storylines, etc.

@@rayleigh8 respectfully, it sounds like you haven't watched much of our girls this year. That crap where Clark waved off Raven at the 3 point line and refused to guard her last year will not fly. We are one of the best 3 point shooting teams. Paopao, Fulwiley, Raven, Bree? And as far as defense down low: Kamilla, Watkins, Feagin, Chloe? C'mon. Dawn has an answer for whoever the opponent is. Boston was prolly #2 all time in Columbia after A'ja, but we are a much more complete team.

It took Magig, Bird and MJ to lift the NBA out of the doldrums, and to think One Little Girl will do that for the Stale WNBA, I firmly believe is putting way too much on those young shoulders, and seeing the Gauntlet of teams Iowa will have to run, one killer team after the other, this year, Their coming out with the Chip will be nothing short of a Miracle. I hope Iowa can do just that, but I have serious doubts, especially with Molly Davis being Injured, at the Worst Possible time, not only for Molly D. ,but for Iowa as well. We all know that "on any given day" any and all teams can and will be beaten. That would be one heck of a "Lightning Strike" In the same place so many times in a row, would literally Boggle The Mind, As Well As The Imagination. I'd sure Love To See it Happen, especially for such a Classy, and Decent group of Young American ladies. The only way it gets done is for them to Really Play as a Well Oiled, And Precisely Synchronized Machine. It also wouldn't hurt for Caitlin to "Go Off" in every game and show the World what a Phenomenon she truly would Undeniably become, were she to do that. We all know she's capable of doing exactly that, but the Gods of Sports, and Lady Luck can always intervene. I guess we'll All know soon enough. They Ain't the Biggest, and they Certainly Ain't the Meanest, but they Can Easily "Be The Best", for this tournament series, and I'm Hoping they will
