It’s just Blackbeard but so, so much worse. I unironically think dio would end up gaining a crazy devil fruit maybe like Blackbeard where he just steals one. Though, atleast once he dies into haki, he’ll have conqueror’s, and he would need to pull some marineford-like strings to get a really good logia user killer so he could get that fruit for himself. Honestly, I wouldn’t put him it past him to go for bonney’s if he SOMEHOW figure out how to get that same power she was given. that said, the one piece world doesn’t work very well for his plans.

I honestly tried to picture in my head a crew consisting of JoJo antagonists who'd pledge loyalty to Dio as a captain, and...all credit to the guy he's a great antagonist, but I only thought of two who'd be loyal to him, that being Pucci and Ice. This video was pretty interesting, in fact it got me interested in watching One Piece. I'm honestly surprised that DIO, who was, through a combination of luck and careful planning, very close to conquering The World and was one of the most dangerous foes to the Joestars, and just had a natural talent for rising to the top, would have a hard time climbing the ranks of power in One Piece's universe, which got me wondering how this series' universe functions, and hence my interest in watching the Anime (or reading the manga cuz I heard the Anime's pacing is horrendous). The first time I saw Aokiji/Kuzan I immediately was thinking of Part 1 Dio because 1) same Japanese voice actor and 2) ice powers. Actually a fruit that would mitigate the sea water weakness to some degree (like an ice based fruit, coincidence? :D) would be something Dio is interested in as it is arguably the quickest way to instantly become way more unbeatable without having to invest any sort of training. Once he has acquired that, he would train in whatever he is still lacking and then he can practically outlast every opponent based on stamina alone especially if his fruit is a Logia, and then attempt to recruit the strongest people he beat to build his own crew. I think he would ultimately fail to get to the very top because of the exact scenario you stated at the end, that he is not the only one who is striving to be at that power level be it for different reasons, it's a massive wall he cannot easily get past, he is essentially forced to fake a team-up with an emperor group to take another emperor group down, and then hope that because of his 'help' he can elevate himself into that position but this is highly unlikely and he would have to suck up to the feet of the other emperors so they won't target him for sure because they don't want him to become a problem, so just like he did with Jonathan's father, play the long game but getting out off that situation is not as easy as poisoning a single person to death, causing him to be stuck. I think it would be similar with the marines or celestials if he tried to scheme his way up, the systems are so established that they're too hard to topple for a single man, even the rubber boy on crack isn't doing all by himself either. EDIT: I always wondered what Rohan with his Heaven's Door ability would be like in One Piece. The degree of things you can manipulate with HD would be absurdly wide and have the possibility to affect the world at large if he messes with the government and stuff. I think Rohan himself would be interested in finding the One Piece just to have clearance about what it actually is and be the first the portrait it, and he would also be interested in the poneglyphs and ancient weapons for the same reason. I can't wrap my head around in which position he would end up in order to achieve that.

Here is a proposal: Dio's Logia fruit could be one that gives him control over blood. While it certainly wouldn't be on par with the 3 generals, it would give him a good amount of utility for manipulation and survival while staying close to his original vampiric abilities, albeit tooled more to the One-piece canon. With a liquid logia-type fruit (simmilar to the Numa Numa no mi) he'd be intangible to most attacks, but in the event he does sustain damage this fruit could easily negate it by allowing Dio to absorb someone else's blood to regenerate his body's natural healing process. An alternative use could allow Dio to transfer some of his own blood into a subject to control their actions from the inside, forcing their muscles to contract and expand by controling their blood flow.

Could MIH solo and kill a majority of the one piece world? MIH can accelerate the weather and water, so if Pucci were to accelerate the worlds time, any ship that happened to be at sea during that time would probably crash. It would be impossible to keep up with everything if even the most sturdy of boats are popping a leak 4 times a second. It would be impossible to manage a ship going through so much in such a little time, especially since the grand line and new world are already chaotic enough. This is just something I'm curious on

Part 1 Dio is just captain Kuro up until he gets the mask. Seriously, the story of Phantom Blood in the early portions was literally just Kuro's plan in Syrup Village. Part 3 Dio is more like Kaido or Blackbeard, collecting all of the strong powers, scheming, and placing himself at the very top. Because of this, I see a few possible outcomes for Dio in One Piece. 1: He literally just does the exact same thing as Kuro. Assuming there's no Luffy to stop him, he would become a very rich and influential man on a single island, thus gaining a head start. If we lean further into this and take the live action into account, he may even gain control of a successful shipyard. While I can see Dio manipulating a family, I see no way he could stay sane in an organizational structure like the marines. He'd break character at some point. So I see him going the pirate route. He'd basically try to take over the surrounding islands until he's eventually stopped by powerful marines. I'd say his bounty would eventually rise, but he'd never break 20,000,000. 2: Dio plays a bit smarter and scummier. In this case, he basically combines the strategies of Kuro and Don Krieg. He manipulates a rich family until he has significant wealth, then he uses that wealth to get a few ships for piracy. After that, he roams around stealing more ships and conscripting more men for his crew. Eventually he would head to the Grand Line, where he would quickly begin allying himself with as many up and coming pirates as possible. He would eventually be stopped by any enemy that's powerful enough to negate numbers, such as a warlord, yonko, vice admiral, or worst generation member. I don't see his bounty exceeding 100,000,000. 3: Dio studies and forms a plan before making his move. After manipulating his way into wealth, Dio would venture into the Grand Line using civilian means protected by the marines. He would go to Sabaody, and would use his wealth to buy a devil fruit. If possible, he'd try to get several fruits and an encyclopedia. Once he finds out which one is the best, he'd eat that one. After this, he would try to find the most manipulable groups to join his cause. People who would want to overturn the current system. I believe the fishmen, who happen to be nearby, would be prime material for this. Even if Dio can't get a lot of them, he could still form a decent crew. After this, he returns to his home, still not being a criminal, and begins his pirating career with his massive advantages. He follows the same plan as scenario 2, but with many fishmen and several devil fruits to give to the captains of each of his ships. Given that he's no longer solely relying on numbers, he would make it much further. Perhaps even reaching the new world. But I don't think he has what it takes to get beyond that. He would have to ally with a yonko or die. I would cap his bounty at 250,000,000.

Hmm the way i see it if we had to put DIO in One Piece while following a similar narrative to JJBA PART 1: I can see his family growing up as slaves with his father "saving" a celestial dragon similar to what we see in the Fishman Island arc with the debt being repaid as we see in the Reverie. The celestial dragon could grant DIO freedom from slavery and we could see him join the navy and work his way up the ranks to Vice Admiral like Vergo when he infiltrated the Marines on behalf of Doflamingo's crew. His goal could be to work his way up to replace Sengoku to put him in a greater position of power and access to information/Gorosei. For one reason or another they figure out his intentions and they try to arrest him which leads him to steal a devil fruit held within the Navy...a Blood-Blood fruit which gives him power to manipulate his and other people's blood and extend his life by draining other people's blood. He starts his own pirate crew and works his way up to the New World and becomes Yonko or at least Yonko level. PART 3: They send a Vice Admiral who has a devil fruit, the Time-Time fruit...he was a rival of DIO during his days in the Navy. Their respective crews clash in the New World and the fight seemingly ends in a stalemate until shenanigans happen and DIO wins. DIO comes across Law and his crew after the events of Wano and washes him and places him in a tough situation (he threatens Bepo's life). Why? He wants Law to use his Op-Op fruit powers to place his head in the body of his rival. Law complies and this allows him to now have 2 devil fruit powers much like Blackbeard...I can see DIO rivaling Blackbeard in this timeline

Dio would have to work around his weakness to the Sun. Kizaru may actually be his worst enemy purely because. If Kizaru can turn into an kind of light and control all forms of light. Just as Green Bull controls all plant life etc. Then Kizaru can project UV Light to eviscerate Dio. Otherwise I think Dio has a better shot of thriving in One Piece than Jotaro. Talking purely based on fights, even though he would have all the same problems as Jotaro. His time stop constantly increases, giving him more to work with and he can afford to take fatal blows since he can just regenerate. In terms of an isekai. Aside from Dio diving into haki and potentially a devil fruit. Dio would be an incredibly influential and dangerous criminal on the same or even greater playing field than Doflamingo and other Emperors. Doflamingo's men follow him because they got a mafia bond, Kaido has followers because he was that guy and Big Mom's crew was almost entirely composed of her blood line. Meanwhile Dio has such supernatural charisma that everyone follows him like he's cult leader and God. He's also a mastermind for engineering the Heaven plan and working it out for Pucci to carry on his legacy. He's only hampered by his arrogance and sadistic playfulness. If he can get those under control, then he can be a real menace. Devil fruits I think would fit. Kuzan's fruit is an obvious choice, Bonney's would actually fit pretty well since SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER the user can transform themselves into forms from alternate timelines. Imagine if in some farfetched scenario, that Dio could transform himself into a timeline where he achieved his Heaven plan even temporarily, crazy shit. Brook's fruit may also be a decent fit, gives him a second chance at life, may even curb his vampiric weaknesses without waiting to be a skeleton, has ice powers and manipulation of souls. Big Mom's may fit because I feel like the aesthetic of the homies is purely based on Carmel and Big Mom and the other abilities would fit but I digress on the headcanon. Boa's fruit would be funny as hell since he can take advantage of his charisma and appearance. Gecko Moria's fruit would be baller since he could go back to his part 1 days with it. Hell Dio usurping Moria and taking Thriller Bark for himself. An island covered in perpetual darkness with Transylvanian castles would be so perfect its disgusting. If we go by the theme of Dio having the strongest stand at the time then having the strongest Devil Fruit maybe Blackbeard's by nature of nullifying Devil Fruits. There's also the non-canon vampire zoan fruit that featured in Unlimited World Red but the game form of it leaves a bit to be desired. I prefer the revamp covered by Repulsive Risk 1242, Higher Vampire. Edit: In terms of what position he would want to achieve. It could be just a standard evil overlord like he was propped up in 1 and 3 or it can be the soft retcon introduced in part 6 where he essentially wants to be a Messiah. Afterall godlike power wasnt the only goal, it was to have all of mankind be aware of their fate from start to finish and thus be given peace of mind.

He would be smart and specifically try to hunt Trafalgar Law to get his devil fruit, so he could gain immortality from it. Theirs also the chance it could be exploited further to potentially give him a second devil fruit like with Blackbeard.

Can he defeat Esidisi on that spikey ground where Joseph Joestar defeated him? 2. Can he defeat Wamu in the horse race? 3. Can he defeat Kars on that tower where Kars defeated Lisa Lisa by using a clone? 4. DIOs Vampiric Abilities plus The Worlds Time Stop would definitely make him a very powerful opponent. If Pucci follows him to One Piece and they still peruse Heaven in the One Piece World because with no Jotaro to be the bane of DIO He could easily complete the Plan and him and Pucci would rule over all the world with their stands Made In Heaven and The World Over Heaven with absolutely no one being able to touch them. @@MCLegend13 Hamon comes directly from the Sun, Haki comes from the Inner Spirit, plus there is nothing stating that DIO couldn't use Hamon exactly due to being weak to it it's just that Hamon requires extremely exact and highly trained breathing exercises which wouldn't work for him as Vampires cannot/do not breathe. Theoretically he COULD gain the ability to use Hamon if he acquired a Devil Fruit, specifically one that allows for air to cycle through his body similar to how Luffy is able to inflate his body using his Gum Gum Fruit.

See Straizo before becoming a Vampire was supposed to follow the plan to use stored up Hamon to destroy the Vampiration Stone Masks, however he betrayed his friends and became a Vampire instead. As a Vampire, he wasn't able to actually use Hamon, all he did was release the Hamon that was already stored within his body as he chose to die "in his Prime" regardless if it meant going to Hell. The only way to use Hamon is with extremely precise breathing exercises and exposure to sunlight for a period of time, both of which are impossible for Vampires to do. Dio couldn't use any of Jonathan's Hamon as he was already dead and had exhausted all of his Hamon. Think of it like a Human becoming a Zombie while holding his breathe, once he becomes a Zombie the breathe he held before will be let out but that doesn't mean he's breathing.

Pucci's would be pretty strong ofc, but ignoring main villain stands, something like Death 13 would be extremely hard to counter due to the fact that non stand users are pretty much defenseless. The Sun could also cause chaos and destruction in a pretty wide area and there wouldn't be much that anyone could do about it, should its user find a nice spot to chill in and be protected ofc.

If you have something or someone strong enough to take out an entire crew... that crew is too weak to be where they are. Bellamy losing his crew in Skypeia. The Straw Hats almost getting wiped out the first time they get to the entrance to the New World. Caribou and Coribou getting bodied hard in the Grand Line. Dio's weakness is that he's FAR too arrogant, so he'd eventually get torn apart by someone who's just better than him. EDIT: Dio would be like DoFlamingo: He'd take a kingdom for his own and try to expand that to the world.
