It will be a very different civilization that the current one for sure. Philosophically different, the underpinnings of society, the values system, completely different. Perhaps based on Chinese philosophy. But it is obvious from the crumbling of the current western world order, that such a path of development is flawed and will lead only to destruction. We will have to go through the coming dark ages, and a restructuring of society to take spirituality into account as a science in it's own right. I think that New Age ideas inspired by Eastern religions will be the foundations for a Type 1 civilization. But nothing resembling the current political, financial, societal, educational, and scientific institutions. And I do not exclude that in the future humanity will discover that progression according to the Kardashev scale is a flawed goal, unworthy of pursuit. Because it is rooted in the pursuit of power (energy), and many spiritual teachers have said that the pursuit of power will lead only to ruin. I suppose that the future development of humanity will be along different principles than are now envisioned. It will definitely not be anything like the Star Trek/Wars movies that you see, not by a long shot. That is a very juvenile way of thinking about civilizations. I think that harmony and purity is a good goal to pursue, even if it means shedding power.

@@jyster18 I believe that will come in time. Sadly, we cannot cure the corruption that exists in only 1 day. However, by looking at the past, we can see the obvious improvements we've made. Despite the illusion of us being advanced that's caused by our exponential growth in the last 2 centuries, we are still quite underdeveloped. We are fragile humans living in boxes, not much different from the past. Think about how many people lack information, safety, sustenance, and opportunity compared to what humanity's potential actually is. Even if our technology remained the same, if we were globally united, and every single person received the right information, our future prospects would be even more exponential than what we've been experiencing. I think that concept alone will bring us in the right direction. There will always be people who cause corruption, but they will slowly be outshined.

We aren't even intelligent enough to abandon religion and other similar irrational beliefs to co-exist well with our own species! As long as religion exists we will not be advancing anywhere fast, and I doubt that any civilization species with a higher intelligence would tolerate us for long. If the other civilization species happened to be foolish enough to harbor the same or similar beliefs, one of the two civilizations would eventually seek to destroy large or entire parts of the other - in the name of (insert which ever deity you desire here). Let two multiple religion following civilizations from two places in the universe meet, and all it takes is ONE individual to mentally make things up in their mind and decide with no rational basis that the other creature they see is demonic or related to a devil in some way before a war and mass chaos erupts based on foolishness, ignorance and misinformation. Imagine if the other species also had several different regional political views, cultural beliefs and rules of societies in addition.... the fact that I am afraid to give examples and erased them from this comment out of fear of the type of angry arguments or responses that I may be responsible for is enough to let me know that we aren't ready to meet any other civilization species, advanced or not. Maybe AI can do it for us if the right people are used to program the AI, and there should be extensive testing of the AI programmers to make sure the ones that are hired or elected to program them are the people who harbor very little to no irrational beliefs before even being allowed to possibly be elected to program any AI with high capabilities. This would ensure that we do not pass any stupidity to the AI, causing the AI to filter the things it does through any religious lenses during its operation and potentially creating any additional conflicts or limitations in the process. The world is exactly the way it is today due to too many existing beliefs, most which are based off of no rational foundation. I have noticed that the majority of people who harbor any form of those beliefs in a very rigid way are more interested in holding on to their beliefs and rejecting anything and anyone else who dare think differently rather than coming together and helping things advance. This type of advancement itself even goes against the beliefs of many people who blindly follow and harbor irrational beliefs because according to them, they have already decided for everyone else that we are not even supposed to be doing these things and that it is also a waste of time. Therefore, you can already expect that everyone still would not unite and help us come together as one, even if we managed to (at the very least) get past the racial and geographical, etc. separations we've made up in our minds and follow without even questioning those beliefs itself. I do think it is possible to achieve this type of advancement over time, but the process will be an extremely slow process as long as younger generations continue to turn to and follow irrational beliefs which unfortunately will hold everyone as a whole back. As soon as everyone can simply accept the one and only FACT that actually exists, which is the FACT that NOBODY really knows anything more than anyone else about how we got here, why we are here, what (if anything) our Creator expects from us and why cerrain things are the way they are, THEN we would be ready to open our minds and explore together as one without division or delusional know it alls thinking they're all right while everyone else are wrong. When we get to the point where we can open our minds enough to even consider the possibility that another civilization's species might even know what we don't know - and be willing to hear them without argument or fight (but also without being dumb enough to blindly accept or follow anything they might tell us without first thinking about it rationally), that is when we can say we're ready to advance to a point where potentially meeting other civilizational species is possible. But as long as there are people reading this comment and choosing to feel offended by it, or choosing to believe that their beliefs are an exception, or even choose to believe that they know for a fact (even more than anyone else) that no other civilization species exists, we will all be held back as a result. Therefore, it definitely isn't happening in our lifetime because we will need many people with silly beliefs to die off and get out of the way first (and the fact that making things up and spreading misinformation without knowing the whole story (or even anything at all except for what someone else said) and then getting angry about it and fighting over it seemingly becoming a growing trend, it is evident that we will not be ready for this type of advancement anytime soon, unless we can create an emotionless AI that can do it for us while automatically ignoring or eliminating those who get in the way without needing to fight or argue in the process).

There's no such thing as a "Kardashev" type 4 or 5. Kardashev's scale only ever had 3 steps. Type 4 was an invention of Michio Kaku, and 5 was from another separate work (plus a lot of other folks who added to the concept, but none of any of that is Kardashev's scale). Further, Kardashev is just focused on energy capture and usage, not all the extra technology developments you describe in this video.

A billion years is unimagineable. We can't even get it right 50 years in the future, or even 30 (Back To The Future). Look back at the 50's on what they thought the 2000's would look like. It's weird though that throughout 10,000BC to 1700 AD, not that much has changed. Type 1 seems like the best type of civilisation anyways, advanced technology and better energy sources but you can still live a relatively normal life that isn’t super different from today. I wouldn’t wanna live in a world without (natural/organic) nature and road trips (which include nature, rural areas, small towns, etc) anyways
