@@dubesd8725 Gators play about 8 teams more difficult than UM. This is why the Gators are at 4.5 wins. It’s about matchups. Gators were historically bad last year. SC had another terrible year. This is why FSU and Clemson won because the highest tier in the ACC played the lowest tier in the SEC. Your smelling cork but you need to take a drink. It is NFL lite now and it may not be worth your effort to dive into the data. If you lined up the SEC best to worst teams and played ACC teams the ACC wouldn’t win a game. Who would be the Gators comparative last year? Wake Forest? FSU would play UGA. It’s worth about 2 to 3 in the record. FSU was 12-0 last year that would be equivalent to a 10-2 or 9-3 SEC team. What has changed is the number of teams. For example, Texas has a lite SEC schedule while Oklahoma has a more difficult schedule. However when Texas plays UF or SC they are going have to bring it or they may lose. Why? It’s because ever program is funded and striving for success except Vanderbilt. We have 10 programs funded and expect to be contending for the playoffs. When Texas plays the Gators they get a lower tier SEC team (Using Last Year) however its one of UM and FSU 3 - 4 toughest games. So even though Texas has a lite SEC schedule if they overlook the Gators they may lose because it’s like playing one of the better teams in the ACC. For the Gators to have a winning season they have to go undefeated out of conference. Which means they have to beat 2 of ACC best teams and top tier Big 12 team. I happen to think the Gators will have a winning record this year.

For a better chance to be considered champions. So these good teams playing in a lower division are actually better than some of the teams in the harder division. However that clearly doesn't mean the lower division is comparable to the harder division. It just means those teams are playing in a division they do not belong. Sound familiar?

Florida is gonna have to actually win the game, not just not lose. They have disadvantages in the trenches so they'll have to rely on short to intermediate passes because they aren't running or gonna be able to go on deep dropbacks without getting heavy pressure

Quarterback will be the difference in this game. Ward was okay at WSU but still has a weaker rating than Mertz who played against tougher defenses. Ward’s first game with Miami will be in a loud stadium with over 90,000 Gator fans in a system he’s still learning, while Mertz has a year under his belt. Anything can happen but if quarterback play is a factor, and I think it will be, then Florida should win this one.

Florida’s roster this year is not like even any roster they’ve had in the last 5 years. It’s LOADED with talented….the two-deep has 4 and 5 star players at every single position on the field, on both sides of the ball. Not too mention 17 seniors and 12 transfers who were ballers at their respective schools. I think you’re gonna be disappointed on Saturday.

IMHO, Miami is possibly the most overrated team in the country, and I believe Florida is going to prove it. Mario is 74-73 after 13 years - .503%. Ward is 12-12 as a P5 starter and went 4-8 on the road. Forgive me for not being intimidated. Their secondary looks like a dream come true for any reasonably competent QB and Mertz is better than competent. 247 just posted roster rankings that had UF twelfth, and UM is ranked at fourteen. That's guess work too, but the perceived talent gap in Miami's favor is definitely questionable. Gators win by 10 pts.
