How did South and west germany, along with hungary, manage to hold off prussia, north italy, russia and france. I could understand if it was just prussia, france and italy, but including russia makes this a complete cerb-stomping of the central powers.

There just is no way that the north German Confederation losses in that timeline. Prussia by it's self crushed Austria Hungary and the southern German states. Then they crushed frace a few years later. No way they Stand a chance

This is not Austria Hungary, as the Hungarian Held Austria from militarizing in addition they lost The Poor Ethnically diverse lands in the east for Rich Industrialize German states and They still have a puppet over Lombard and Venice

@@apineapple3177 in real life, prussia alone had to invade hannover, sachsen, hessen and blockaded bavaria alone , there is no way that a crippled austria who just lost their eastern lands and defeated by the russians would be able to defeat the North germans along with bavaria, thats pure delusion and fantasy

Gotta balance out Europe! It wasn’t depicted in this video, but Germany in this timeline was restricted to annex all of Prussia by Britain, because Britain was scared of the economic power of a unified Germany. Other alternate history scenarios probably have the same precautions

Many details ignired like how austria couldn't put down a militia on their own let alone beat another great power with allies who in reality humiliated practically the rest of germany ob their own in 1866

It isn’t the Hapsburg armies alone, the 1848 revolutionary zeal spreads to the rest of the German states, leading the reactionary alliance not being able to properly organize a counteroffensive Thanks for the feedback though

It did, but for reasons, Lenin was Pro-War instead of Anti-War, so the Bolsheviks got less traction, and lost to the white movement.

Ending makes no sense. In that war, Russia is defeated and pushed out of Poland and Baltics. Prussia is also defeated and could as well be blamed for the war. There is literally no reason for the Habsburgs not to annex Prussia. Besides, considering this war started in 1914 like otl, Habsburgs would be the Emperor of the German Confederation for more than half a century. Habsburg and German Nationalists would have common grounds and ambitions by that point. What actually would happen is that Austrians would simply annex the entire Prussian Kingdom and then guarantee the Polish independence.

this alternate history is just saying things to say things. The german military was strong because of prussia not simply because it was german. The Austrian military was dog shit just giving them germany lands doesn't reform their military.

@@LoreDad I think a better way to have gone is just have the prussian king accept the crown. Changing decisions is a better way to do alternate history than just say oh this nation will take over the world because I like them and they are super op because i said so. It changes it from a fantasy to a what-if. What if Germany unified in 1850 - "well the easiest way for that to happen is if the prussian monarch accepted the crown of Germany" what you did "the Austrians accepted the crown of Germany and then despite losing war after war they were able to win a world war against the russians french and Prussians crazy.
