While I do love this what if, especially the turn of events and ending. I personally disagree with this version of Gohan, he would lose that vital edge that made gohan such a fan favourite. It would make the series predictable if he could control is his rage as he'd essentially be the Saitama of the dragonball universe. And most people can attest to this in real life, that although controlled aggression and anger is efficient, sometimes unleashing your inner monster drives the message that you are not to be fucked with. I feel like this is why most of the fandom can identify so much with gohans character, for most of his fights he was a timid yet capable child on the battlefield, his enemies saw him as such anyway, which is why the shock of his personality shift and sudden boost overwhelming power when angered rocked not only his enemies but us as fans, this further being exemplified when after his initial assaults he would return to his timid, child like (human) state, making us all think "is that the same gohan? And if so when will we see him again". This is why fans are so disappointed with how gohan has turned out and sadly because of the audience toei animation are trying to cater to, we will never again have that version of gohan we all love, for it would take serious tragedy to enrage him to see that return (a death on the battlefield or loss of his family) we would need to go back to the times where the stories of dbz were gritty, where the heroes were sometimes unfairly killed. Could you imagine what we would see if say, Videl or Pan were to be targeted by an enemy? To conclude, the split personality dynamic between the pacifistic human and blood lusted saiyan to make up the hybrid the we came to know as Gohan is what is missing and I sincerely hope the writers have the presence of mind to bring this element of gohans character back to super. P.S. This is not a criticism in any way shape or form, I'm merely expressing my views on gohans character, I'm sure most will agree with the points I've made. I love your work Carthu and think you're doing an amazing job, keep up the good work as I see greatness in your future as a writer. An idea for a future upcoming video; "The story of Kakarotten: what if Goten hit his head as a baby?"

Have you considered that part where Nappa was going up against Piccolo and Krillin. They essentially planned an attack that only failed because Gohan was too scared to blast Nappa. Vegeta even said that he would of died if Gohan had succeeded. Not to mention that in his enraged status he was able to go up against 3rd form frieza, Racoom would have been no problem, heck even Ginyu. And if he had controll of his rage he would have discovered super saiyan earlier.

The thing people miss about Cell Games Super Saiyan 2 Gohan is that the 100x multiplier was on top of his gigantic rage boost, which is why Perfect Cell's full power and buff forms were nothing to him.

Can one actually control your rage? Usually when one thinks of controlling your rage it mean you are quickly able to calm down. So if this is the standard we are setting, that would mean gohan cant fight, like at all. Also the standard you seemed to have set at the beginning with piccolo being able to help gohan reach his true power seems like it's just what elder kai does for gohan with opening his potential. No? So after watching the video, I think you should rename this to "What if Gohan was a True Warrior"

Hey, Carthu... Instant fan of your work. Anyway, I had this idea that I hope you would use for one of your videos in the near future... What if Goku and Gohan each kept their tails?? Akira Toriyama himself stated that the original reason the tails weren't included after the Saiyan Saga (Let alone for Trunks and Goten) was that he simply forgot about the tails. Goten and Trunks would NOT get tails though, much like in canon. I like the idea of the Tails being a recessive trait, thus making it rare for Half-Saiyans to be born with a tail with Gohan being the only example of a Half-Saiyan with a tail. Plus, despite the flack Super Saiyan 4 receives in some of the forums I browse, I actually love the form. It just looks so wild and cool! Although it would exist here under a different name, I think. I'd call it the "Primal Saiyan" form since, to me, it's essentially a mix between the Super Saiyan and Oozaru/Great Ape forms. So... do you think that you could do such a "What If" video?? Please?

I actually know the answer. And it's not just from the show. I used to control my rage. This allowed me a normal and not overly strong person to fight eight people at once. Controlled rage is far more potent. Gohan could have made a huge difference against nappa. He wouldn't be tired before being strong enough to harm nappa. He would also be able to participate in the tactics that piccolo suggested. Further he could combine his power with piccolo to one shot nappa with a masenko. Or hold him still for a special beam cannon but wouldn't be hit himself due to his size. However while the fight with nappa would be much easier imagine how Vegeta would react. I'd imagine not good. He would be weak again by the buu saga however. As the skill of useing your anger is lost if you don't use it. So the buu saga (if they survive Vegeta in the sayian saga) would be about the same and we would still have Gohan training with piccolo in super. However the most changes would be in the namek saga. He would destroy dodoria and zarbon and Vegeta. His boast from guru would make him about recoome lv initially. And about third form frieza later. His zenkai from losing against the Ginyu force would also be larger. He might of even went super Saiyan when frieza shot piccolo in the heart. Even if he doesn't go super Saiyan than he would be nearly strong enough to take out frieza when he was delaying him so he would be caught in the explosion. This would be because frieza was severely weakened by battle damage and the use of his full power.

Ki energy is more than just energy, being a based upon life force, heavily dependant on mind and spirit. That's why when the ki of someone is fading, it alarms those who sense it because, barring exceptions, it's a sign of them being close to death. Gohan stating he lost half his ki was due to his morale being shattered and being in an injured state. He had the power he needed, but he wasn't in the right frame of mind to use it, so he could only use half.

I think we need more what ifs on how the story would go if Gohan was born with the same Ikari form Broly has access to. Just saying that form and power Broly displayed which is the Great Ape 10xs power in his humanoid state just speaks and yells Gohan, not saying Gohan should have the same mutant Zenkai Broly has, but him with access to that state would be very vital throughout the events of Z especially the Cell Saga. Like imagine Super Saiyan 2 Gohan enraged with Ikari after 16s death, Cell is done and so is possibly the planet if Goku and the others don't calm him down.
