The fact that Gohan punched well above his weight for so long is part of why Vegeta has so much respect for him in Canon. If you notice, he always calls everyone else by a nickname, or dead name in the case of Goku. Gohan, however, he always calls by name, meaning he respects him at least as much as he does his own family. With that said, I feel like Gohan will become his new goalpost, instead of him being focused on Kakarot.

What dead name do you mean? Vegeta calls Goku his BIRTH name, which is Kakarot. You reachin with that dead name shit.

@@GhettoJohnWick Goku chooses to be called Goku. Vegeta's insistence on calling him Kakarot is just a matter of his own pride, which is why when he DID call him Goku it was more meaningful, because it meant that Vegeta was done letting his own BS get in his way.

I like how tame this part was, it was nothing too crazy but I can see potential in this what if. With Gohan having Ssj and now even knowing some of the other grades him and Goku could achieve Super Sayian 2 very early, maybe even get a glimpse of Super Sayian 3 in the timeskip between the end of the cell saga and the start of the Buu saga. Also Vegeta’s pride is definitely broken, not only did a low class Sayian and a Sayian from the Future gain Super Sayian before him. But even a child achieved the form before him so he might just gain some more character development from this and start acting like his early Buu saga self.

Yea with the way I wanted to write this I didn’t want it to be over the top with Gohan just being op. I try my best to keep it realistic as if it did happen in the anime and how toriyama would’ve made it if this happened

Or else. What if Goku and Piccolo used that 24 hours to go to the time chamber to train for most the day! Then go stop Raditz and get Gohan back! Goku already used the time chamber in Dragon Ball while training with Kami. He only lasted a month in there. But he did know about it!

nice, if you ask me, since Gohan has super saiyan already and they went through the diferent grades already, if Goku and Gohan train in the chamber, they'll get grade 4 much sooner and Gohan might be able to go into Super Saiyan 2 at will this time, they would have much more time since Gohan doesn't need super saiyan training so yeah, early Super Saiyan 2.
