Goku would likely just lose control of Super Saiyan and destroy the earth. He could barely control the form on Namek, so it is likely that in the saiyan saga he would not have the mental strength to keep control because eod not going through the gravity training. Also you should try to focus more on Yajirobe as he is a very interesting character to explore

One thing I'd change about this is I'd have Goku just put his fist through Nappa with how angry he is at the moment and with the fact that in the normal timeline Goku beat the living hell out of Nappa and even broke his back while in base a Super Saiyan Goku at that time would literally not being doing all of those move's Nappa would die in just one punch cause the power difference is so great it isn't even funny

Ok, but what if goku powered up late instead, so every saga is a high difficulty close run contest where you just dont know who's going to win? So basically, it's a hard fought adventure where Goku has to pull out all the stops and play a shrewed tactical game of cat and mouse with the antagonist instead of going on yet another parade of casual super powered beat downs. Maybe it no longer "just wait for goku" and the Z fighters get more involved and bring their A-game each time so they can all make a meaningful team effort. Maybe they loose some z-fighers from time to time. maybe they solve some problems before things get out of hand. Maybe they talk more BBEG's around during the fight so they can pad out anr power up the team roster. maybe they have to resort to "out of the box" measures like using a wish to teleport namek and everyone on it away from friezer to leave him stranded in deep space not knowing where everyone went instead of fighting him head on. Effectively putting frieza out of picture long enough for future trunks to show up and put him on ice when frieza finally tracks them on earth. Maybe the extra team investment gives the gang some extra character development. Sure it might be a bit much for Saturday morning TV, but it's probably a better call if you want more engaging fan fiction 🤔
