In Greek Mythology there were actually three named Gorgons, so having three Pokémon based on the gorgons for two Greek based regions makes sense.

Ok, so i have to say this. The mons' designs where pretty good, really, but as a Greek i found some of those ideas really out of place (and personally little offending too ^^;....)... Like many pokemon had almost no connection with Greece whatsoever X'D.... Still the art was fun. My hubby really liked that muffin and bug-dog pokemons the most

The Hopee line is referencing Mexican Jumping Beans, the beans jump because there are wasp larva inside of them, they make the bean jump by hitting the walls with their heads, which they use to escape from harsh sunlight while they grow and pupate.

In the original Greek myths there are three gorgons (Stheno, Euryale and Medusa), so that's why and I think it's very clever to have each gorgon be it's own Fakemon.

Alpha Hatokean, Rouvett, Banshoot, Ufly and an ace Angerigus. I'm not sure what my sixth would be since I need to decide between type overlap or a 'mon I like less, and also would want to know how the alpha form rules work, but the backups are Jatatang, Mismalice, regional Marowak, regional Mimikyu, and Rhinbow. I liked Mologre's pre-evo better than it too, so it would be a good candidate if it was a bulky eviolite snail 'mon.

Funny thing about the fire starter: gen 2 was originally going to have a fire bear cub as the fire starter (Honoguma is the Japaneae name) instead of Cyndaquil, so it may actually happen at some point in the future. GF has been known to recycle or reference old designs in new gens (Munna apparently was referenced in gen 1 and even Dhelmise by some guy in Slateport in gen 3).

Someone may have said this already but I think Regivile also takes inspiration from Barad-dûr or the dark tower where the eye of Sauron sits! The tall spiky appearance is really similar to the tower, and we also just had Smaugold which is another Tolkien-inspired pokemon!

Seeing those dragons reminded me of a Greek legend... or rather, the origins of the "Monster" Talos. The Greek Gods made the human race... but one legend claims that there were several human races, not just one: The race human race they created they had made out of gold... and they were a wonderful race. Beautiful, noble, etc... That race eventually died out, so the gods created a new human race... This time they used silver, and this human race was much inferior to the golden race... That race eventually died out as well... The next human race the gods made out of bronze and that race was supposedly TERRIBLE! They violent and destructive... so much so that they soon killed themselves off! The last member of the bronze race was a man named Talos who, true to his race, was more monster than man! I wonder what kind of Pokemon I, or anyone, could make out of that...

Hatokean to me doesn’t seem like a final starter evolution. It looks like the final evolution to a 2 stage, unimportant (in terms of story) line. Edit: I just released that (at least to me) it kind of goes for every starter line like described above.
