Easy I wouldn't ever be a monotype user and I more than likely wouldn't stick around in just one spot I'd travel to every region and collect Pokémon of every rarity and strengths and weaknesses but my team would look a little like this gangar leads the team followed up with alakazam then arcunine as well as charizard (who would evolve into charzard x) then draginite last but not least mimicue.

I would be a Bug specialist (8th gym) positioned on a small island off the main cost... let's say Alola but really it could apply to any region with just my team switching. I want to mix in a trial challenge and a gym battle. So we start by getting to an island, this would be a wild Volcarona flying you to the port of my island and leaving you be. You have to explore the island which is filled with strong wild bug types like: Pinsir, Heracross, Scizor, Golisopod ext. Until you make it to the 'main' gym, a large hollowed-out tree. Upon entering the tree, you need to make it across a web floor (think Viola's gym in Kalos) with facing some bug catchers along the way. They'll have more Pokemon like the ones outside but multiple and higher levels to be more of a challenge. Reaching the other side, you climb a ladder and find the Volcarona from before. Receiving a free heal, the first part of your challenge starts. Volcarona is a totem Pokemon who can summon Comfey or Blissey to cause you trouble. With the hidden challenge off, every partner you knock out randomly buffs one of Volcarona's stats. While the partners focus on keeping the totem healthy. Once the totem is defeated, I reveal myself and smile, congratulating you on making it this far. Being a man of few words, we go straight into our battle and your not allowed to heal (yeah, it'll be a 7 v 6 battle regardless of what you do). My team: Forretress - Matches your highest level Pokemon - Sturdy - rocky helmet Stealth Rocks, Rapid Spin, Toxic, Gyro Ball Galvantula - Three levels above your highest level - Compound eyes - life orb T-Wave, Thunder, Energy Ball, Sticky Web Araquanid - Three levels above your highest level - Water Bubble - leftovers Aqua Ring, Infestation, protect, liquidation Scolipede - Three levels above your highest level - speed boost - muscle band Baton Pass, Swords Dance, Poison Jab, Steel Roller Shedinja - three levels above your highest level - wonder guard - focus sash Shadow Sneak, Dig, X-Scissor, Final Gambit Mega Heracross - Five levels above your highest level - Skill Link - mega stone Mega Horn, Rock Blast, Close Combat, Shadow Claw

Love the idea of gym leaders specialising in two types, a mix of both types and an ace that is both types. Would ensure that all 18 types could be given across the 8 badges and E4 in one game.

Yup, that’s definitely a goal of mine for the Orova region gym circuit, or at least it’s equivalent. Consider my team here to be a preview for the diversity on Orova teams, if not even more there.

I’ve thought of this and I would a Fairy type gym leader, but more specifically a baby Pokémon gym. So my team would consist of baby fairy type Pokémon.

So I, like any normal person, was lazing around a while back thinking about unique Pokemon gyms, and I came up with the concept of a Gym Leader who's whole shtick is that he's a hunter. So far my concept for the team is: *Decidueye* (marksman) *Kecleon* (camouflage) *Sudowoodo* (fake tree) *Galarian Stunfisk* (bear trap) *Staraptor* (hunting eagle) And either *Zorua* or *Foongus* (bait/mascot) How you would make this viable, I'm not sure, but if someone wants to use this for a fan-game or competitively, be my guest.

I've thought about building about a gym team before, I want to be a fire leader pretty late in the game, my lead would be a Kantonian Ninetails with the ability drought holding a heat rock so most of the rest of my team would have access to the sun. Main gimmick of the team would be status conditions, so Nintetails would have Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Flamethrower, and Encore. Next would come Rotom Heat holding an expert belt, and it would have Thunder Wave, Electro Ball, Overheat and Signal Beam. After that would be my Life Orb Salazzle with Toxic, Venoshock Flamethrower, and Protect. And finally my Ace would be Chandelure, which would have leftovers and use Will O Wisp, Hex, Flamethrower, and Energy Ball. This would give you the TM for Will O Wisp

If I were a gym leader, I would be the first in my region and be a dragon-type leader. I chose this because I want my gym's gimmick to encourage players to diversify their team and exploit weaknesses their starters cannot. Tyrunt: Level: 13 Moves: Rock Tomb, Charm, Roar, Scale Shot Ability: Sturdy Item: None Role: Debilitate enemy Pokémon by lowering their stats via Rock Tomb and Charm. If a matchup between it and an enemy Pokémon looks unfavorable, Tyrunt also has Roar. Axew: Level: 15 Moves: Assurance, Slash, Scale Shot Ability: Rivalry Item: Oran Berry Role: With Tyrunt softening up the enemy Pokémon, Axew can come in for the kill with powerful, Rivalry-boosted attacks. Starters typically have a STAB move and Normal move and are disproportionately male. The Dragon-type resists all three starter types, Tyrunt's rock typing lets it resist the Normal moves, and Axew gets a damage bonus against Male Pokémon via Rivalry. I hope that these advantages will give any starter Pokémon a run for their money, and I have enough exploitable weaknesses that I don't pose too much of a challenge with the right toolkit.

Congratulations on your milestone! I’m pretty new but I’ve been finding your videos to be interesting and engaging. Basing a Pokémon Gym design and team based off your personality and skills is a refreshing spin on a fan concept. Plus, you’re pretty bold for being honest about yourself. What you had was definitely cool. For me, I’d probably try for a dual Water and Flying type Gym. Water because my zodiac sign is Pisces and Flying because I have a fondness for flying to different places for vacation. My lineup would potentially include: 1. Hisuian Samurott (my starter) 2. Corviknight (main flight transportation); can Gigantamax 3. Xatu (teleporter and psychic analyst) 4. Kingdra (main water transport/diver) 5. Noivern (night time specialist and sonar user) 6. Eelektross (to catch people off guard, also great protection when diving) Gym challenge has to include parasailing to grab certain items suspended via balloons. It includes Water and Flying. Defeat all gym trainers and retrieve all items to access the arena by boat. Badge name is the Horizon Badge.

Puzzle:Maze, if the test subject chooses the wrong path, he will either have to fight according to the rules of martial arts (without Pokemon) with one of my students.

Grass/ ghost gym is a cool idea and congrats on 10k Personally I would be a poison/ ghost gym leader. Ghost: because I’m more into horror movies, learning folklore and being more introverted. Poison: because It’s my favorite type, I prefer to solve a problem piece by piece instead of all at once, plus Im natural more blunt and to the point with my opinions which can come off as rude accidentally

If restricted by type, I'd be flying with a team of Jumpluff, Honchkrow, and Oricorio, if I had two I'd go with flying/ground, but if I had any concept I'd go with a cotton team consisting of Jumpluff, Altaria, and Dubwool

As for the gym leader I never actually considered that before 😅 I always imagined myself as a frontier brain who puts you through a maze where you need to answer questions about Pokémon lore and dex entries before you’re able to progress and challenge me for the knowledge symbol

Dude i'm astounded! This is so well planned and well thought out! This is amazing Ben! Although I have already drawn myself as a fairy type gym leader i'm actually thinking about re-doing it, changing my team, using different pokemon, having a light and music themed team since both mean a lot to me, my gymsona having this pop star or magical girl pop star aesthetic This video has given me inspiration so thanks Ben! I already have ideas of my gym being like a concert stadium and my gym puzzle involving music and songs or like a light puzzle where everything is dark but there is spotlights that shine but it's where you are and it follows where you go so you have to figure out how to get to center stage and follow the sound of the music and when you find me i'll be on the stage where everything is lit like at a concert i'd be like " I see you followed the sound of the music , are you ready to take center stage? I hope you don't have stage fright, let's light it up! Do you have what it takes to be in the spotlight? " After the battle " well it seems like my battle against you hit a sour note but I thank you for battling me! Here is the Harmony badge! It would actually be a cool idea if in future Pokémon games Gyms would be specialized in more then one type. Like what if there was a Gym Leader that used both water and fire types, or ground and flying types? You would have plan out your team out to combat for more than just one type. Probably not an inviting idea for new comers to Pokémon, but still.

Ohh I'd definitely be a Ghost type gym leader. But not the quiet and reserved type. No... my gym would double as the local LIVE THEATRE! (which is ironic considering the type ghost). There would be several ghastly tales being preformed on each stage. Little Shop of Haunters, Phantump of the Opera, and Sinistea: The Ghostly Brewer of Fleet Street. By talking to the people waiting in the lobby you can learn what the plays are about. There will also be an individual talking about the secret 4th stage. Once you enter you'll have to get past a Stage Hand that will ask you a question about the play and if you get it wrong you'll have to face them. The Stage Hand will have a Shuppet and the Pokemon that corresponds to the play (Haunter, Phantump, or Sinistea). The aisle will be lit up by rows of Litwicks. After getting past the Stage Hand, you make it onto the stage where you face the Gym Leader. He'll have a Shuppet and the evolved form of the play's titular Pokemon. After beating him.... surprise it was just an actor! The real leader is on another stage. Repeat this process for all three stages. After returning to the Lobby the lights will dim, the Duskball design on the floor will rise up, and the guy talking about the secret 4th Stage will reveal himself to be me, the real Gym Leader. My team will consist of the evolved Ghost types the Fake Leaders had (Gengar, Trevenant, and Polteageist) as well as a Chandelure (setting the mood lighting) and my ace Golurk (alas poor Golurk, I knew him well). Upon defeat you'll be given the Drama Badge. It looks like one of those Comedy-Tragedy masks.

Just to answer your questions, I would be a Water type gym leader if I was doing a single type, but if it was like how you did it, I would use Water and Psychic as I feel these fit how I am best personally. For the mono type team I would use Starmie, Gyarados, Azumarill, Walrein, Hisuian Samurott, and Floatzel. (Not all of these are my favorites directly, though they all are Pokemon I like and even if it isn't overall the best it honestly doesn't matter too much) For if it was the dual type gym I would use, Starmie, Gyarados, Espeon, Walrein, Gallade and Floatzel. Personally I don't have an idea directly on what a gym for this would look like, but there definitely could be many creative things with this type combo. I somehow didn't see this for a while though it was enjoyable.

My favorite type is water, followed by poison. But if I were a gym leader or elite 4 member, I think I would have to specialize in Ice types, I think they suit my personality more than any other type. Originally I actually was gonna do poison, because I’m just a toxic ass person, but settled on Ice because I’m a very cool, calm, level headed but also strict person. If I could describe my personality in one word, it would be “Cold.” Not the best, I know, but I’m honest. I would definitely have a Cloysyer, Weavile, Mamoswine, & Froslass. Maybe I’ll be like Lorelei & add one or 2 water types to my team, maybe tentacruel, qwilfish, kingdra or Starmie.

There's something I could use some expert help with: I am creating a brand new Pokémon challenge run idea. Probably the dumbest. I call it a TV Locke. In this run, you choose a TV show or movie to base your run on, and you can only use Pokémon that best represent the characters of that show or movie. The game I chose to go with to start this off on is Pokémon Y, and the TV show I decided to go with is Jimmy Neutron. I already have a few ideas of which Pokémon best represents certain characters, but I still need help figuring out the whole thing. Got any ideas?

My 3 favorite types and the types I feel almost connected to are ground water and ghost, when having ideas about what I would use as a gym leader I often find a roadblock, I usually get restricted by only having 6 Pokemon. Ik gyms always have 2-4 Pokemon ingame but if I made 8 gyms they would have the following number of Pokemon: gym 1: 3 Pokemon gym 2: 4 Pokemon gym 3: 5 Pokemon gyms 4-8: 6 Pokemon. It just feels unfair for the player to fight a gym with more Pokemon than the gym leader most of the time. Ik TLDR but if you made it this far thanks for reading it.

I would probably be from unova since it's based on America and my gym probably wouldn't be limited to one type, so I would just have a balanced team of 6, my gym would be an arcade where you would have to do a special challenge to get to me, basically there are three rooms with three arcade machines, a rotom will possess one and then the machines will be shuffled by a mechanism in the floor, you will have to guess which machine has a rotom, guess right and you get to fight the rotom, guess wrong and you have to fight a trainer, the shuffle gets faster and more machines appear each room, after successfully getting through all 3 rooms you're allowed to battle me in a huge stage at the heart of the gym, the first time you go there I won't actually be at the gym, you'd have to find me somewhere else in the city to retrieve me and get me to the gym, you'll find out where I am through talking to npcs and then you'll be led to my house, where Im sleeping upstairs, upon waking me up I don't have my glasses on and I can barely see you, so I accuse you of being a thief and try to battle you, with a much weaker version of my team, after you win I realize your a gym challenger and offer you the hm fly so you can get to my gym as soon as possible and by the time you've flown over there I'm already in the gym and your allowed to battle me Team Mimikyu (Favorite Pikachu clone, I also see ghost types as the scariest and most dangerous type so it would be good to have one as a repel of some kind) Gardevoir (Gardevoir is like a best friend, she loves her trainers and will risk destroying the universe to protect them) Rotom (Rotom is just really convenient to have as a pokemon for anyone, it's really versatile, can run your entire house without you even being there, and if your ok with it's pranks it can be really funny) Appletun (It has an infinite food source on its back) Snorlax (Snorlax is just as lazy as I am if not lazier) Typhlosion (Cyndaquil is my favorite pokemon)

(If I Was a Pokémon Gym Leader) I will probably place myself as the first gym you Encounter in your journey and acquire your first batch, my gym will be a "Steel Type" gym focus on double team battles and for parcel I will go something similar with Roxanne like you could choose avoiding the other trainers etc etc and have 2 other trainers you can Encounter (Trainer 1 Aron, Togedemaru) (Trainer 2 Klink, Bronzor) (Gym Leader Magnemite, Beldum, Lairon as my Ace) love to hear people's opinion
