I expected James to do both gyms and contest here. Yeah it was set up in Honenn but considering he made it to the first 6 vs 6 in the Hoenn league shows he has the potential still. That way his true rival would be Nando. Someone who’s also do both. But oh well

I think Jessie should have learned more from honnen I understand she needs character growth but having her relapse on her worse traits just make it seem like she is learning the same lesson again we already had Watson for that plus Gardenia disqualifying her was kinda of unfair Lielp should have put up more of fight and maybe have her use Exploud instead of numel and try to brute force her way to victory however after winning Gardenia advises her that she shouldn't relay on brute force and should set a better example for Exploud

I kind of expected James to do that after what he did in the Hoenn at times and it makes sense given his flamboyant demeanor. Though I kind of thought that wouldn’t happen till like Hart-home city And yeah Jesse had that coming with her attitude. Gardena seemed like a more mature version of her in the anime. One that loved a certain type of Pokémon but also knew when to get serious. And Mewoth is certainly doing his job being able to sneak into places. Though I wonder how far their head start will take them

I think their placements made sense considering both had a lot of problems dealing with team plasma in the league. If that story got a sequel then I can see Paul or ash winning in Kalos
