God I love these stories so much... believe it or not these stories have helped me get through some tough times in my life. When I was Goin through dts and didn't have the energy to move or the will to get up I'd put your story's on and lay there just listening using them for focus on something other than being miserable. First time I saw this I thought, how is Freezer with double the amount of training so weak compared to its manga counterpart. Then I remembered that time chambers not only make time go faster BUT ALSO (at least Earth’s) have increased gravity and sometimes extreme conditions. So yeah, makes perfect sense now.

That’s pretty much it really. Frieza would also be at a heavy disadvantage in terms of training if he didn’t find that chamber due to the fact that he doesn’t really have a sparring partner; the closest to his strength in this timeline from his side is king cold, and he pretty much eclipsed him in a few weeks. This is a Frieza that didn’t go to the tournament of power, didn’t do the whole mind training in hell, didn’t fight Broly and only really fought the main cast a long time ago so he was unaware of their growth aswell. Dbs Frieza is strong not just due to his talent, but his constant exposure to powerful fighters and his experience fighting said opponents

Neither the Saiyans, nor Freeza's henchmen train to get stronger. Vegeta doesn't train to get stronger and only considers it for himself after seeing how tough Goku got training in 100x gravity. Prior to that Vegeta only knew that he could get stronger by battle, so is always aware of the "saiyan power" or "zenkai boosts". Raditz is neither aware of training to get stronger nor zenkai boosts to get stronger. All of Freeza's top henchmen are as strong as they are because they are mutants. Freeza is also not familiar with the idea of training to get stronger, as shown by Resurrection F. So I don't believe he would even think to train Kakarot up. It's a common theme in DBZ that the villains do not train to obtain their power, while the good guys are always training to get stronger and beat the villains. I like the story, but this immediately stood out to me.

This. Vegeta only started training when Trunks informed the gang about androids. Up to that point, he would get stronger relying on fighting and zenkai boost only. Safe to say that neither Raditz nor Nappa were training either. In this scenario, Kakarot wouldn't be training either.

This is really fun to watch because I've actually been working on this exact what if in a fanfiction I've been writing. Two similarities I've found so far is that both is a focus on Kakarot and Raditz and Freeza intervening to keep the Saiyans easier to handle. With mine I made the brotherly bond less equal than you're so far has. I kind of had Kakarot go ramp up his power because of constantly injuring himself, I believe this is how Bardock got so strong. Because of this Kakarot outgrew Raditz but not quite close to Vegeta or Nappa. The brother's dynamic fluctuates a bit until the story really starts rolling. I didn't even think to have Freeza attempt to recruit Kakarot to sow disorder, that's a very interesting idea. With mine I just allowed Goku's ability to inspire growth and rivalry among his comrades to stay with Kakarot. Freeza dislikes this because it helps motivate the Saiyans to grow stronger to overcome each other. So, he starts screwing with their missions which leads to a big change in the brothers' dynamic which in turn causes the plot to happen. I can't wait to watch more of this later.

Bardock was not strong, he was a weakling. He got one shotted by a half dead fish man, struggled against common Frieza soldiers, got one shotted by Dodoria, got laughed at by the other Saiyans, then got one shotted by Frieza. Also, without the zenkai boost from dying and then getting trained by King Kai, Goku would never suprass Raditz.

I have an idea for a what if, I call it…What if the Z-Fighters were diverse? This basically would make most of the Z Fighters a different alien race. We keep people like Goku, Piccolo, and Krillin the same, but we can change people like Yamcha, Tien, and even Chiaotzu. We can make Yamcha into an Android, Tirn into a Cerealian, and even turn Chiaotzu into a Frost Demon for the fun of it. It would be cool to see what could be the outcome of this.

The irony... OG Dragonball was extremely diverse... That's why they still use the term Earthlings instead of humans most of the time. Tien IS officially a descendant of aliens. He's a Triclops/Human Hybrid, born on earth. But his 3rd eye, ability to grow an extra set of arms and his multiplication ability are all part of his alien physiology. Oolong and Puar are both also obviously anthropomorphs with puar being the least humanoid of all of the main cast. Then there is also Korin on Watchtower and Shu from the Pillaf Gang being antromorphs, with Pillaf himself also being no human. But all in all only 75% of earthlings are homo sapiens (humans). 17% are anthropomorphs (beastmen) 7% are "monster-people" (This included beings like Piccolo, before they were retconed to be aliens) 1% are Hybrids. And there is even a small number of Lycanthropes/Werewolves. But sadly when going into into DBZ, Toriyama literally forgot about that (as he admitted himself in an interview later) and instead filled earth with mostly humans after the time skip. Oops, I started rambling... But yes, I agree.. So Tien shouldn't need to be changed, just be acknowledged as a Hybrid Alien and explore his heritage, Yamcha should become a Lycanthrope and go full Wolf-mode, and Oolong and Puar should become more relevant again, if not both shapeshifters, at least Puar should become more powerful together with Yamcha. Just one simple change could be that Yamcha is a mutant that makes him not able to transform under earths moon, but when Vegeta creates a fake moon for the Great Ape transformation, Yamcha suddenly transforms into a Great Wolf as well. OG Dragonball already started to give us diverse characters, Toriyama just neglected them.

It's time to realize that Nappa, Vegeta, and Raditz are just Non, Zod, and Ursa. And yes, Goku was originally just a ripoff of Sun Wukong, but he had Superman grafted onto his origin story and main villain. At the time, Frieza was a lot like Brainaic. Granted, Frieza was also made to be like a Xenomorph (his barely-seen 3rd form) and a real estate broker, IIRC. Yes, really.

So this will be controversial, but I feel this misses some of the points of OG dragon ball and how much roshi and grandpa goku were the big factor for the difference between goku and raditz and later Vegeta. Without their teaching and with Nappa, Vegeta and the freeza force all enforcing the idea that strength is what you are born with goku would be stronger than we first see him on earth due to the fighting strong enemies but his drive would not be what it was or the lessons about knowing when to rest and when to work wouldn't have been taught which are all the weaknesses that vegeta started with that made it to where he can't catch goku despite the greater potential.

Not very controversial, considering this isn't even OGDB. Unlike Dragon Ball being about a monkey kid training for world tournaments and protecting the Earth from evil, this is a story about aliens overthrowing a galactic emperor (at the beginning at least). It can't really be missing the point of OGDB if it isn't related to it in terms of narrative and story, rather than the characters shown in the show.
