What if KALOS had KANTO's Gym Leaders?

Fixing Pokémon Gym Leaders is easy but what if we bring the Kanto Gym Leaders to the Kalos Region? Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Erika, Koga, Sabrina, Blaine and Giovanni will replace Viola, Grant, Korrina, Ramos, Clemont, Valerie, Olympia and Wulfric!

I really like the concept of Koga with a Dragalge , leafy seadragons are really stealthy and it fits really well with his ninja aesthetic

While I think huge power Diggersby to rock your day would be fine for Giovanni with a dangerous set and item, I'd also be exhilarated if you went in the gym battle against him expecting the Diggersby and he just whips out a legendary as his ace.

Lol, Carbink somehow manages to be the best choice for Brock cuz it also hits like a wet paper bag with colossal defense. In fact, it's basically Onix if you also added 100 special defense.

Of course, you are right, that is way higher. But still, as long as the moveset is not too strong, you shouldn't have problems to beat it :) I felt that the stage 1 Rock-Types would be kind of lame😅

Completely in agreement with you. You get the three elemental monkeys in santalune forest so you'll have super effective attacks against Carbink anyways, and with its garbo 50 Attack/Special Attack and HP, if you aren't a dick and give it stuff like the screens or moonblast, a wall like Carbink is perfectly fine.@@VS_Prime

Personally I'll give Giovanni his Nidoqueen (Tanky + Coverage), Diggersby (Gen 6 Representative), & Mega Garchomp (The 8th Gym should've gotten one tbh)

My suggestion: Replace Return with Frustration and kick that hatred Digersby has to the sky!

I would've kept the original Kanto aces around, when I think Brock or Misty I think Onix and Starmie, Though I understand you wanted them to have a Kalos mon as an Ace. Also I both hate and love the idea of Lt. Surge, the Army man, having the cute fairy rodent Dedenne as his ace.

Thanks for your sharing your thoughts love to see these different perspectives! I totally understand that hate & love for the Dedenne decision. In terms of his personality, it is quite difficult. But the only other option was Heliolisk which already was Clemont's ace. If we would have gone with the Kanto ace, that works for Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Erika, Sabrina and Giovanni but Koga's Weezing and Blaine's Arcanine would be impossible with the Kalos Dex. As I said, I love all these different aspects and how every decision is imperfect :)

I mean, the buff army man Lt. Surge having a fat orange electro rat as his ace is his thing, lol.
