I never even thought of the idea that the scar is still hurting him, it feels almost Darth Vader-esque with the pain fuelling his anger and such fire bending

For Vaders third degree burns, he wouldn't have been able to feel them since the nerve endings were severed at that level. but the second degree ones were excruciating.

The creator said that Zuko's scar was very sensitive and painful, especially for his teenage years. So it makes sense

Irl that would be like a third degree burn, so the nerves in his check would be dead, meaning it shouldn't hurt physically. However, mentally? Poor guy has serious PTSD, and daddy issues. Why I love Iroh. He took over the responsibility of parenting a 16 year old that was recently abandoned by his parent, and deals with all the teenage angst and mental issues that came with it. I'm constantly aspiring to be a person Uncle Iroh would be proud of. ❤❤

To to be physically honest it was clear katara once had a little crush on zuko at this moment while they were in prison together dispute the fact that she has a hate for him in book 1 but the major differences she doesn’t feel zuko in a romantic way the same way she feels for Aang and jet both and I’m glad the creator decided to turn their relationship into a friends ship I still think he would’ve betrayed Katara after getting his scared heal

I legit never even thought about Zuko having physical pain from his scar, kind of eye opening for me really 😭🙌 NGL I’d have LOVED for this too have been added, maybe a future film? I really like the symbolism of it not changing him on the outside but helping him on the inside

I think the bigger question is, if Katara did heal Zuko's scar, would he join forces with Team Avatar during the Battle of Ba Sing Se, or would Zuko still betray them, resulting in Aang getting killed, with no way of coming back?

As for Azula and Sokka, he’s the only one from Team Avatar that she doesn’t treat like an idiot or a child.

I don't really find it strange. The idea of enemies to lovers is a tale as old as time, as is love redeems. I actually think they have a bit more chemistry than Aang and Katara. Part of this was that at this point it was perceived as a one sided crush on Aang's part, whereas Katara feeling sympathy for Zuko despite his background is a huge show of sympathy on her part.

First - scar is a symbol of his shame, that he was banished from homeland, only when he returned to the Fire Nation after Book 2, it became just a battle scar like these that german officers have Second - usually damaged skin is more sensitive, so such simple things like face washing in the morning brought discomfort if not pain, imagine how he felt on the North Pole, facing extremely cold wind

If Zuko had fought on their side, he would have redirected Azula's lightning, so Aang would never have received that injury in the first place.

I never said that siding with the Avatar would have made sense for Zuko at that point. I never said Azula had lied to him. I never said the Dai Lee wouldn't force them to retreat regardless. Most of your comment isn't really relevant.

This is my opinion but I think Zuko needs to keep his scar because it symbolizes a lot of things. She symbolizes the violence and cruelty of her father, she symbolizes detachment from the Fire Nation which is part of her destiny, she symbolizes the fear of losing her honor.......

I like the fact that erasing Zuko's scar was never an option for the creators. His scar is a physical representation of all the strife and trauma that shaped his character and gave him purpose. He knows he can't undo all the bad things that have happened to him, but it's not going to keep him from achieving the prosperous future he wants for himself.

What would be crazy if Katara did relieved Zuko’s scar so that he wouldn’t feel so much pain. But weeks later or months later Zuko’s still after Team Avatar and Katara fired at him with ( I helped you relieved your pain from your scar and you’re still coming after us!?!) Zuko fires back with ( You may have healed my pain from this scar, yes, but I’m still the same person. I still want to capture the Avatar to fulfill my honor.) Epic battle ensues until a few episodes later Zuko meets a few people with similar scars like him and understands.

If Katara healed Zuko there, maybe he would've helped Katara and Aang fight Azula and thus win. Not only can Katara freely help Aang, but Zuko and Iroh would be there to help as well

Aang probably would've gone in to the Avatar state, seeing them together; and attacked Zuko. If Zuko wasn't badly hurt he would have helped the team against Azula. And likely join them after helping save Be sing se. Book 3 would've been completely and utterly different, and so much shorter. And lastly, this episode wouldn't have been aired on television. Because Zuko and Katara would have been on the ground smooshing like there's no tomorrow. Tell me I'm wrong.

@@enigmatic3194the likelihood of Zuko helping Katara and aang if she healed him is exactly Zero % FULL STOP 👏 If he betrayed Iroh after EVERYTHING iroh did for him a cute girl healing his scar isn’t going to do ANYTHING especially when he’s still being ruled by his past trauma. Until Zuko deals with that issue he was NEVER going to able to move on, and his trauma isn’t from a scar it’s from his father 🤷🏻‍♂️ He still would have betrayed them if she healed him cuz it meant he could go home.

I think that in this case Zuko and Aero would join the avatar team, and help them to stop Azula . After that Aero would teach Aang fire bending and Zuko would have relationship with Katara .

It's a fun what if. I'm surprised no one has done. A what if Avatar videos. In my opinion, If she did heal him. He my have full trust in her and join team avatar earlier. Also his sister probably wouldn't get that opening to hurt the avatar.
