Something that always bothered me, even watching the film for the first time...why did the Jedi stand together in his office? 1) they knew he might be a Sith and try something, and 2) they were too close to swing their sabers around. They should have surrounded Sidious, or moved further apart in the room to give them positional authority or superiority....but they foolishly just stood together and got took down too easily. Stupid.

Or be ready, and not just wait until half of them are dead to start fighting, I mean, they were told he was the Sith lord, and somehow he still caught them by surprise, they were far too arrogant, that's what caused all the story to happen in the first place, if they listened to Qui Gon, he would be alive, and Anaking would've had a master that can understand him, and teach him properly, so he wouldn't turn to the Dark Side, but, the Jedi Council was arrogant and too involved with the politics in the Republic, to see that things were going bad in the outer worlds and even in their face, they 100% lost their way, I don't think most of them were really Jedi at that point, more like just police.

@@Acuas This fight is a great example of the canon chaos in Star Wars. So we have the events in the film which are canon, and then we have the novelization which is not. The novelization tried to address a lot the backlash for issues created in the film; however, their deviations from the film were so much that they got denied canonization. The majority of people who defend what happens in his office as 'making sense or a possibility' are drawing on the novelization to explain it. For example, when people say that the reason they were surprised is because they "didn't know if he was a Sith yet," that's from the novel not the film. In the film, they know he is. The novel says that Sidous stuns them with a 'force shout' but he doesn't do this in the film. The novel says he was two red sabers and it's the surprise reveal of the second saber that kills one of the masters. No...in the film, Sidious has only one saber. He never has two in the films. The two sabers don't show up until the animated shows which while canon, take the two sabers from the novelization (which was made not canon) because it was at the time of the Clone Wars...so while the source material they come from is no longer canon, the things they took from it are canon??? ...........grrrrrr

9:40 Clone Wars season 4 had the 3 episode Mon cala arc had Padme working with Kit Fisto, Anakin and Ahsoka to prevent a civil war. It's got some great Fisto moments (one where he helps to save Padme) and it's safe to say Padme would know him a bit more than most other council members because of it

A what-if scenario I've been wanting to see is What if Anakin Kills Mace, but Mace kills Palpatine. Where the assumptions are that Anakin a. Falls to the dark side and can b. Can execute order 66 and, finally, c. Find a will that makes Anakin interim chancellor and, from there, full time emperor.

a. Maybe. The most likely outcome of those three. b. He wouldn't know about the orders so that would require some kind of workaround. c. Wouldn't be likely to happen. The Senate would need to agree, there is no way that a chancellor in a galactic republic could just announce their successor. Even if said chancellor had emergency powers. And they would definitely want to look into Palps's death before doing that vote. And the recording would speak for itself since Big P wouldn't be around to doctor it... So: Anakin would be in serious shit unless he gets the power of What-If-Plot-Armor!

This was amazing. I’ve been a fan of your videos for a while and it’s always fun to see your interesting SW what if’s. It was also fun to see Kit Fisto killed Palpatine before Anakin arrived getting shown some love. This is definitely an interesting scenario and it should definitely get shown some more love. Plus I think we can all agree that this is probably one of the most interesting/unique scenarios in SW…but it’s a welcome one. Also if Fisto did kill Palpatine…then it would definitely be an interesting opportunity to show another side of his character and make it even more interesting. It was also nice to see Fisto having a strong fight getting shown some love, since he usually never gets the chance to do crazy stunt llike this (more than usual) that much and it was a nice change of pace to see him take the initiative and definitely made us all impressed. Plus it was nice to see Fisto get that opportunity to help out his fellow Jedi as well as having a role in aiding to help prevent certain events from happening…afterall it was nice to see him have a solid plan, afterall this was probably the smartest course of action she could take, so it was nice to see him come up with this plan to shift the power balance of the galaxy, since he knows that there’s still opportunity and hope in the galaxy. Also it’s always nice to see just how determined Fisto truly is…also this was definitely something Fisto would do. Also I think Fisto genuinely wanted what was best for Anakin and was just looking out for him…he’s just such a chill guy. Also Fisto is one of my favourite Jedi from SW and it’s nice to see you include him in such an amazing ‘what if’ story like this and give him the love and respect he deserved. Also I love that Fisto was able to dupe Palpatine with his fake death and than killed him…it was a nice touch. Great job as always and I can’t wait to see what you do next. I do have a few ideas for some possible what if’s: 1) What if Rey was a Mandalorian…essentially what if Din Djarin found Rey and took her in as a Foundling. 2) What if Ezra was a Mandalorian…something like how both his parents were Mandalorians who left Mandalore and went to start their own lives (you could still keep most of Ezra’s backstory) and potentially make Ezra and Sabine a couple (since Disney won’t, we have too…#ezrabine4ever. 3) What if Jango Fett and/or Boba Fett Joined the Republic…I think something interesting could happen with this. 4) What if Rey, Finn and Poe went back in time to the Clone Wars…this would make the World Between Worlds even more of an important focal point and I could also see them get along well with Anakin, Ashoka, Rex and the rest of the 501st (it would be fun to see Rey, Finn and Poe join the 501st) I hope these are some amazing ideas for some potential What if’s

The first ones are “What if Qui-Gon Saved Tahl?” And “What if Jedi Knight Tahl Survived?” Another story I’d like to see too is “What if Anakin left the Jedi Order with Ahsoka?” And “What if Qui-Gon started his own Jedi Order?” I understand there are hundreds of possibilities, but these four are ones that could yield very interesting stories, and I feel like I want to tap into Qui-Gon Jinn’s past before meeting Anakin or even Obi-Wan more.

What if Ventress killed Barriss Offee and un-framed Ahsoka for the temple bombing? A Ventress POV story could be a fun one. What if Barriss killed Ventress and blamed the bombing on her rather than Ahsoka? So Barriss sneaks up on Ventress, clobbers her over the head, steals her lightsabers, kills her while she’s down, goes into the warehouse, fights Ahsoka while disguised as Ventress, knocks her out, then leaves Ventress’ body beside the crates of explosives and tells everyone she intervened to save Ahsoka from Ventress, which is backed up by Ahsoka who thinks it actually was Ventress who attacked her. What if Ezra Bridger pulled Darth Vader into the world between worlds by accident? What if Barriss started a peaceful protest by occupying the Council chamber and refusing to leave? What if the Death Star’s weapon was destroyed by a bit chunk of Alderaan smashing into it? What if Ahsoka stayed with Rex and joined the clone rebellion after Order 66? What if the Zillo Beast ate Palpatine? What if Ahsoka died during the clone wars, but Anakin subconsciously created a Force projection of her and didn’t realise she wasn’t really there? What if an overworked, overtired Kaminoan intern botched the inhibitor chip code late one night so that it misinterpreted “execute order 66” and executed orders 60 and 6 instead? Or alternatively, the intern added an “order 0” for testing purposes and didn’t realise it actually bumped all the other orders’ numbers up by one, so what was meant to be order 66 became 67 and so Palpatine executing “order 66” turned all the clones against him instead.

Every Jedi, including yoda was tempted by the darkside, literally every single last one. All of them, one way or the other, violated the jedi code. All of them would need to be locked up or expelled if you wanted to hold that against anakin. He was being manipulated by Palpatine for literal decades. They realize that anakin is going through, alot, made a bad choice but that he is still good. That's why, even though the jedi order had problems, they are still on the side of good. Without that, the order will devolve and eventually just become the sith, again.

I mean, if you're brainwashed since you're a kid, for more than a decade, and still manage to hold yourself to the right path, even if you deviate a bit, it's proof enough that you tried your best to do the right thing. And to be fair, most of the blame for all that goes to the Council, they never listened to Qui Gon, they never tried to teach Anakin properly, nor they really tried to understand him, but they expected him to blindly trust them, then there is Sidious, who understood him and supported him, he filled the father figure that Anakin needed so bad, and was supposed to be Qui Gon (that's why it's called the battle of fate, if Qui Gon survives, Anakin never turns, and the Light wins), the only think the council needed to do, is try to understand he wasn't like the Jedi born in the order, or brought in even before they had memories of their family, if they had cared for him enough, nothing would've happened, so yeah, he gets away easy, because it's not even his bad.

And once they took time to look at what really happened I don't think it's unreasonable for them to recognize that Anakin had been manipulated for over a decade by someone who trusted and Fisto doesn't seem the type to take something like a fight that occurred under intense circumstances personally. There is still a decent argument for removing Anakin from the order though I could see with the relief of the defeat of the Sith and the end of the war that either not being the case or happening in a more friendly the Order isn't right for you go be with and love your family manner that they wouldn't view as punishment. Anakin no longer under a cloud and with his children and alive wife might be inclined to view leaving the order in a much more benign manner than he would have even a week or two earlier.
