Love how things played out the same in ROTJ yet left ambigious up for our interpretation! I headcanon Luke and Leia both fighting Abeloth who is the major villain and big bad(girl?) and defeating constant enemies along the way.

Actually her being a Jedi much earlier in the timeline changes ALOT. The New Republic would be without Leia as she would continue her training but Jaina and Jacen would be better off for it.

I love this portrait of Leia, in legends she had Jedi training eventually and was a Jedi master level combatant but never followed her training as thoroughly as Luke’s but all the characters actively acknowledged that she had a wilder deeper dark side and more potential than Luke did. Not sure why you didn't even mention the fact that the entire gap between The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi, Luke is on a journey collecting jedi artifacts, exploring jedi-related ruins, and gains a ton of knowledge regarding the Jedi and the Force, all of which he'd most definitely share with Leia in this alternate timeline. There is a reason that Luke has a newfound cadence and vibe to him seen as early on in ROTJ as him confronting Jabba, he seems older and wiser, it's because of the multiple years he spent learning. If you're simply unaware of this, the Star Wars comic series from 2020 shows Luke's journey across the galaxy on his mission to get a new lightsaber and what he finds along the way.

Future wise, Ben remains a Jedi but Leia finds Rey on Jakku as well during Shadow of the Sith and trains her, Sidious will have to make a Griveous type cyborg to oppose the Dyad during the sequels and First Order might fail sooner than in the original timeline, although Sidious would try to use the Final Order still and fail miserebly

It was great until you went down the crappy Disney timeline & not the true Timeline of the Expanded Universe. Leias kids are the twins, Jacen & Jaina Solo, & Anakin Solo not Ben. The only Ben in the family is Luke & Mara's son Ben Skywalker. That's the actual SW cannon, Disneys version is the crappy counterfiet.

And I think the EU would have worked perfectly as Leia would have simply become a Jedi earlier than she did & Luke wouldn't have needed to train her they would just reinforce each others training & so she wouldn't have had as many struggles & self doubts as she'd went through in her training, she'd have had Luke to go through things with & bounce things off which would have helped him in his journey also & she'd be at the same level as Luke in the EU & not just discovering her force powers.
