Australia has a lot of feral camels and water buffalo. It seems like they missed that in their research.

Australia is big but. The Camels would all be in basically Saharan desert where lions don’t go. A small population up north could tackle the feral water buffalo’s for a while. Lions would struggle with Kangaroos - they are endurance runners which suits dogs as prey.

Lions are mostly ambush predators, they close in their prey and then sprint to them. If there's enough cover, most of their kangaroo hunts will be successful.

Dingo's would be their biggest threat. Dingo's hunt in pacts, and are agile like a cat. Kangaroos headlock dogs, than kick them to death, however a lion is likely to strong to beat for them. The Question is, can a Female lion beat an adult Kangaroo? Maybe not so easy, but they can get the younger ones with ease.

@@tylergilson4749 Weight might not help, Kangaroos have very strong grip, they kick animals in the guts with 200 to 700 PSI after head locking them with their strong gripping power. Lion obviously wins, but they will not be to easy a prey for the lion. Lions are here in Australia too, but for some reason it's kept quiet. I've seen one myself in the wild.

One thing people don’t know about kangaroos is they’re just as fast as lions but with more stamina . They’re also extremely smart AND dangerous so they would be a very high risk low reward meal for a lion

Over time they would learn to chase female roos with a joey after learning a roo will always drop and sacrifice their joey to save themselves. Part of nature's way of ensuring future generations.

It could work-with Australia selling lion hunts as well to keep the numbers in control as numbers grow. They would of course eat kangaroos, which would be the majority of their diet. There are also feral camels, feral horses and goats as well. If prey could learn to avoid and fight back, they could thrive in harmony and help control the native species populations.

One thing you don't know of a lion is that they used to hunt prey that fight back and they live in pride. No kangaroo would dare to fight against cape buffalo, zebra, wildebeest or even giraffe which is this animals are just prefer prey for a lion, if you put a whole pride of lion here in Australia kangaroo and other marsupial would go extinct and this big cats would be a problem.

Just seems not to be doing the job too well - maybe inhibited by uncomfortable memories of some emus . . . Seriously, I suggest spending some time in Africa studying the predator-prey relationships before shipping anything over to Oz. By that time, who knows what the feral moggies will have done by way of evolving - they seem to be getting bigger already.

Lions wouldn't survive as they need a lot of food and they would not get that food which would mean they would have to separate from each other in order to have enough food to survive and they're not separate Hunters because they hunt as a team so if they separate from each other their chance of making the kill is drastically lower which means they will not survive what you needed instead is probably the jaguar or the mountain lion the Jaguar would be your best choice followed by the mountain lion as they can hunt for the size of kangaroo very easily and still survive plus they can use the forest as well

Australia has an enormous problem with wild invasive camels, they're large hoofed animals. Lions could prey on them...

They would definitely prey on saltwater crocodile because lions prey on nile crocodile in Africa. They would prey on every animal there actually. Every animal there would be on it's diet list because if lions prey on hippo they would prey on any animal in Australia

@BullzInfinity-eg1ucthey prey on crocodiles and hippo is the point I am making. Not if they are adults or not. And lions don't run from crocodiles. They run from hippos but not crocodiles. Meaning a hippo could chase a lion of a kill but not a crocodile.

Lions would be a problem if you put them on Australia. And they shrink size as none of this animals would fit for a whole pride.
