This was somewhat requested and since I'm better at working with animations than the Sm4sh days, I decided to make it even better than the last one

I didn't directly copy any attacks when designing these hitboxes, I wanted to make them original so they aren't just moveswaps. Forward air is originally Doctor Mario's and tweaked so the arm started higher resulting in a wider swinging arc, and the frames cut to change the frame data to how I wanted Back air is Ganon's animation Up air is his but I edited the animation to have more startup for a harder looking thrust so I could turn it into a killing attack Down air is Mii Brawler's animation with tweaked startup and endlag Neutral air is the same animation

Exactly. What they can do is make his aerial hitboxes connect more reliably and give them a teeny, TEENY bit more range (still make it short ranged, but not too close to him). Also, make it so that one of his aerials kills, though not to a strong extent but so that it is noticeable. And what I would do is change his Up Air into an overhand swing above his head so that it covers more distance and a better anti-air.

He still has the worst recovery, dodge data, and counter in the game. This literally would just make it harder to throw and jungle him, hell it could still be done. Even with this he could still be camped out on platforms by zoners, he would just have a chance whereas he currently has no way to fight a zoner camping on platforms. Plus it gives him more mix up potential allowing a game of actually doing what everyone else is instead of sticking to center ground as much as possible.

I think this a balanced and good way to improve little mac. He still would struggle offstage due to short range aerials, terrible air speed, and limited recovery options, but he would stand a chance. Also his only big improvements to comboing would be neutral air and the option to finish combos with an aerial instead of tilts. Maybe reduce the damage a little and remove the shock effect, but this would be surprisingly balanced.

Wow this is an amazing mod, i really love your improvements (as a mod creator)! I hope you don't mind my bit of critique... i personally think the uair should have been a weaker one, or maybe a kick? I feel like having something like his original animation but with a bigger hitbox, while also having slightly more power and less endlag. Although having a super strong fair is nice, it doesn't fit mac's clean framedata Nair is PERFECT, except it looks like you can get two true nairs in a shorthop lol Bair is nice, but similar to fair (although hitting out of nair is nice) dair is nice, not muc to change but overall, i think creating a feeling of boxing up your opponent is the key, i guess kind of like shotos but more freeflow? very very good work, i really like what you did with this!

Tbh I kinda debated on going for a "shoto" feel, but I didn't think a boxer would count as the same style as fighting game characters, and his original kit didn't play like one anyway and I wanted to keep that style. Little mac shouldnt have good options for fighting in the air but he should have the tools to actually be able to survive in the air. Heres what Im thinking, for starters, his recovery should be a bit more forgiving. His haymaker in the air should have less end-lag so you dont fall right afterwards and his up air should be a bit controlable, you can tilt a bit to get to the ledge instead of it being just directly up, he should also be a bit more floaty. Now the main kicker with this is he should have some of the best dodges in the air ever, little to no start up/ cooldown on his air dodges. To go along with this, his up air shouldnt put him in true falling, it will not stop you from using your jump, haymaker, or air dodges. Now if an opponent attacks you in the air and you dodge it, it will refill your movement options, allowing you to use another haymaker, jump, and up b. This should make edge guarding against little mac riskier than it is, if he can predict your attacks, hes got a free trip back to the stage. It would also make his air game a bit more tolerable, he still cant fight in it, but atleast he can survive in the air. Now keep in mind, I dont play smash often, I dont know if this would be balanced or not (Im leaning on the unbalanced part) so if anyone more experienced wants to lean in on this, please do.

@@junkyyard2273 fair enough. The armor on byleth down b is actually really bad, especially when you consider how Sakurai described the move. The armor isn't active until frame 34, and it's merely (fairly generous) heavy armor that can be broken by anything stronger than a Falcon Punch (about 30% is the maximum that the armor can handle). It's like how Falcon's supposed to be speedy, yet his unreasonably long turnaround animation is a rather damning aspect of his mobility.
